640
PISTACHIO

Been following this device for a while and I think this is the all time low. Seller states AU stock and that it will come with FreeBuds, but uncertain whether they still have stock of those little buddy earpieces.

    No NFC is pretty weak

    • +3

Yep lost me at no NFC

Other than NFC payments, what else would you use NFC for?

        • +2

          Myki.

@KelseyKat: So sick of people getting tap on errors via NFC in front of me at the station especially when train is about to come. I know its handy but they need to fix this.

That's enough in itself…. Everyone's need are different - but not having Google Pay is a no-no for me and a lot of others.

          • @beebul: Agree mate, each to its own. I'm old school. I've had NFC enabled mobiles since few years now, but can count the number of times on my fingers I've used for payments. Did save me once when I had forgotten my cards & needed to pay for coffee.

NFC still not a deal breaker for me at least. Happy Shopping!!

That question is like "Other than connecting to a wifi modem, what else would you use Wifi for?" Jeez!

        • -2

NFC payments and lots of them.

  • +5

Agreed. Almost got this phone without hesitation until "no NFC"

Dont care for NFC…but next phone needs 6gb of RAM :)
    This only has 4gb

  • Good price for the cameras and large screen.

NFC is a deal breaker for many people I know, myself included. If a company is out of touch with market and just doesn't care much about, they just dont get my money. Simples!

    • Now we do shoey?

<<< This page states that NFC is available. So that means they created a specific version for Australia market with NFC removed?

    • Of course they could. Just double check your model numbers, then the model numbers that have NFC on gsmarena.com and come back here with your results.

      • Nothing like that mentioned in gsmarena :-(

        • +1

eBay listing states model is MAR-LX2
GSMArena states this model doesn't come with NFC

  • what the difference between this one and p20 pro. P20 pro seems expensive but P30 seems latest one.

    • +1

      This is P30 LITE

      • ohk. got it.

No NFC makes this a great phone for conspiracy theorists who either feel it will give them brain cancer, or allow people to skim their cards by touching their bums.

    • u can change the setting to ensure that NFC will only work when u unlock the device. so no touching bums anymore

      • +2

I couldn't find that setting in GooglePay :-(

  • +4

Great for the oldies that don't care for nfc.

    • +1

Except for the ones who hate things made in China

    • +1

If oldies mean the majority of general public.

    • I have quite literally never seen someone use a phone to pay for anything.
It is nowhere near as common as all these (you) "No NFC, Phone is useless" posters seem to think.

    • Not great for the oldies who always lost credit cards.

  • +2

Wow NFC.. I have never used it once.

  • Isn’t that the default setting for google pay? Phone must be unlocked to use.
