  • I remember getting these $50 gift emails on my birthday too. From my understanding (maybe it's a different offer ??) the $50 is for international flights, not domestic. Which I thought was a total letdown so i forgot all about it and ignore them.

  • Price match and then use the $50 voucher

Went to claim it 2 days ago and was told by consultant that u have to claim it virtually on your birthday due to this clause :" Offer is valid 24hrs after being received." The email was sent out in May for my birthday. So basically you have to make a booking on your birthday or within 24 hrs.

Very sneaky, on the voucher it also states :" Offer expires 18/08/2011." I suppose i can argue about it but i got a price beat anyway so can't be bothered.

It must be different rules for different consultants - my Mum ended up buying tickets for a flight overseas and was able to use this voucher earlier this month, but her birthday was also in May. This was already on top of the pricebeat they had implemented!

    • you can not combined with $20 price beat guarantee voucher, but for sure you can redeem before the voucher expired. I just did price beat for my friend that got the voucher at 12 noon and i did the price beat at 1 pm on my friend birthday. I always bought my international air fare from flight centre in te last 4 years, since i got scam by chinese travel agent in china town (been paid full amount the ticket, then the agent didn't issue the ticket, i found it 3 days later, their argument i have to pay the different coz they gave me wrong price or they refund my money, really dodgy )

I have redeemed these $50 vouchers twice couple months after my birthday. next time u got this typical dodgy consultant, can you just ask him/ her to clarify with their manager.

If i don't have this birthday voucher, i can do price beat and my consultant deduct $20 from my price beat voucher. which is against the term and condition on the voucher price beat policy, but it is up to the consultant.

and one thing that i like with this flight centre, they don't charge me amex cc fee 2%.

Just be careful they don't mark up by $50 and then mark down. I used to work there and this is what they sometimes do on "free" gift vouchers

    • do price beat then use this $50, at least you got $1 price beat off and $50 off birthday voucher. so no mark up price, only mark down price. I always get it, remember they can't refuse your price beat, or you fly free.

  • Does anyone know if they send it out to everyone at the start of the month or actually on your birthday? The reason why is my girlfriends birthday is next week and we are booking a holiday together but it may be too late.

      Actually don't bother replying -

they are already $110 more expensive for a specific hotel for 4 nights in Phi Phi Island compared to expedia.com.au AND $40 more expensive for a specific hotel for 1 night in Phuket (not worth the effort for $10)

      • If you want to have a good overview of the offers for a certain destination try booking.com.

      • do you know price beat mate? find other company that got australia abn, and get your quotation via email/ written/ phone. then bring to flight centre for price beat. 100% working for me in the last 4 years, without a single time fail. no bs.
but make sure the availability of the seat/ room still exist. not a normal advertisement, you need check online of the other competitor company website or range them to check and then call them asap, it has to be same day and price beat and pay in full at the same day.

i love it if their price is more expensive than their competitor, that't mean i always can do price beat with flight centre, $21 off in front of my eyes, per person, not per booking. okay.

        • I think its only for flights? unless you can direct me to the right link. If your correct then it would be worth it.

I have already bought the flights with the jetstar 2 for 1 deal.

        • i did in the past for my cruise and booked for hotel as well in NZ.

sorry, i don't have the link. not sure if my fc consultant recognize me as their value customer so they always do it for me.

they send it at 12 noon of your birthday.

  • Do they verify your birthday or something? Whats to stop people making up their birthday just to get a voucher?

    • some times they don't; sometimes they do. so it is depend on the consultant. my suggestion on this $50 voucher, don't take a risk. it is $50 voucher, what do you feel if they find out that you try to scam them?
