    Targeted.

    • I checked my two eBay accounts (one I have never sell on) and both gave the same offer.
Once confirmed it is a targeted offer I will amend the heading.

      • I didn't get the offer.

      • The terms and conditions say that it is targeted.

        • I suspect eBay is rolling this offer back out to all users over the coming weeks. I didn't receive it this time, but nevertheless this is a positive sign!

          • @7effect: I can’t remember the last time one of these offers wasn’t targeted, so I’m not sure why that would change. Particularly if you actually read the t&c’s.

            • @aja12: Yeah i believe it is targeted, but very broadly. Most if not all ebay members received it consecutively week after week after week since it began in early 2018. It all of a sudden stopped earlier this year. Check out this Whirlpool forum: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2788157

              • @7effect: I’m aware of that, I’ve been a member here for a few years now. My main eBay account (of three) never received those offers. My two other accounts, with little activity, received it each week up until eBay decided I was selling too many items under the offer and I stopped receiving the offer on all three accounts. With this current offer, none of my three accounts received the offer. Targeted is targeted.

  • Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired.

    • Just activated on the second eBay account I never sell on.

yeah that is very cheeky and tricky of ebay. should have option to not relist…, or good to cancelled should means forever not just 30 days.

    • Absolutely! If you do use that format it is highly recommended that you save a phone or calendar reminder to cancel the listings before end date.

I usually cancel at least 1-2 days before the item ends to be on the safe side.

      • +1

yeah stupid, right? good til cancelled. then why 30 days? gee… it means its up until i cancel. simple as that

    • my last bill 300 plus, i agree ebay is smart on this

    • Used to be good til sold on prior iterations in the promotion… sneaky.

Just sell items by the garage load.

    • +1

Yep, me too. Came for the $1.10, got 3 free instead. Longer expiry too — 9 days to list 3 items.

  • I finally had my first offer in months, 3 free fvf listings.

  • +1

    Just checked my two accounts.
    Top Rated Seller account: no
    secondary account: yes

kinda sucks since my secondary account only has feedback from buying.

    • And most would avoid or be ultra cautious with that one too.

  • +5

I'd recommend taking screenshots of any offers you accept after recent experiences where they wouldn't honour their offers.

None of the 3 accounts I just checked were invited to this deal. Probably favours dormant accounts.

    • They are listed in your selling section. No need. They'll also show if you've used them.

    • +3

Not sure why you got negged, this has happened to a number of people, myself included.

eBay will say you either need a screenshot of the offer + acceptance or the email. Don't have either and you're up the creek without a paddle

      • +5

Take home advice. Screenshot all promos. Trust no one. Not even me.

  • Same as others. My top rated seller account got nothing.

Activated on my wife's account with very low feedback and no purchases in a long time. Still, I get to sell all the junk that's accumulated since the last weekend offer finished a couple of months ago.

  • -1

If the people with "Top Rated Seller Accounts" have upgraded themselves to an eBay store subscription, that will be why they are not eligible, as ebay store users have never been eligible for the $1 weekend listings promotions that ran for pretty much the last year.

    • I haven’t got an eBay store subscription. eBay has just excluded all top rated sellers ( or perhaps sellers with a large number of sales)

      • -1

My point is IF you are a store, you are never eligible for these promotions, regardless of sales volume or top rated seller status.

  • +1

Not on any of mine, partners or families… had to stop selling now as im not paying 10% fvf its not worth selling

    • +3

Yeah it sucks, ive got hundreds of old video games/consoles/tech stuff to sell, listed individually that are often just barely worth selling when the fees were capped at $1 for so long, now its back to full price it's just barely worth the effort.

      • +4

And and the shipping fees Australia Post
….. They are shockingly high…. Terrible

        • +2

Yep almost worth using a courier

          Monopolies everywhere

        • i agree between ebay & paypal fees and postage it accounts for ~10% of my item. and thats with the free or $1.1 listings.
and then the fact they use the less desirable offers if both are activated. and/or the listing doesn't seem to fall under the promotional listing even though it was listed within that period and they deny any issues. so have to pay exorbitant fees.

i have resorted to buying express 3kg satchels off ebay. its about the same price or less than austpost options from ebay and I hope it makes my items easier to sell being express. combining %off deals and 10% off gift cards i average about $9.50 a 3kg express satchel
its and since most of my items sub 500g through to 3kg all fit in the 1 satchel i only have to stock one satchel type so they get used up reasonably quickly

    • +3

I agree it’s ridiculous to sell almost anything with 10% fvf yet you still get idiots making offers thinking you don’t have to pay fvf plus paypal plus postage then whatever’s left is a joke

      Everyone is on gumtree lol

      • Well, at least the removal of these $1 weekend promos forced me to try selling on Facebook Marketplace. To my surprise it was easier than I thought and managed to sell a few items.. without having to pay ridiculous commission fees.

        • i default to facebook for most of my stuff but there's some items that just dont sell on there. you need a bigger audience.
i find i have quite a large bunch of timewasters through facebook though. atleast with ebay its sold its sold. i only had 1 guy who wanted a refund before it shipped.

    OP's name checks out

  • thanks for putting this out. i've been waiting for this to use for a few months now.

  • +1

I didn't get it but I'm glad it still exists.

  • got it. thanks op

  • +1

I didn’t know the final fee of the ebay.
I just charged $120 for the phone I sold yst .

    • +1

And don't forget PayPal fees… Hopefully you didn't underestimated shipping fee too

      • Too easy to lose money on ebay lol

If you don’t get trumped by the $1.10 fvf fly by nighters

        • You really need to have a spreadsheet to work out your profit or in most cases losses on eBay.

Since eBay is so unpredictable I actually have set up the spreadsheet to accommodate for $1.10 listings and for those buyers who pickup and pay with cash.

      • i saw email ads that no listing fee, then i didn't expect any other fee.
If I sold my phone in gumtree or any other website. I could get more money then I sell in ebay :(

    • +1

      10% eBay charge
      3.3% Paypal charge

      Just leave it guys

      • +1

        10% eBay charge
        3.3% Paypal charge

        Just leave it guys

        -PLUS insertion fees -$1.65 [Under $100] $3.85 [Over $100]

-PLUS Final Value Fee on Shipping

        -PLUS GST

This is a true colour of eBay PLUS

Just way too much fees and charges.

  • I've got this offer for the first time in a good number of months now… I wasn't getting the $1.10 weekend offers, and it probably coincided with me not being active any more…

    • Me too. After a few months with offer. I quit selling on eBay and more hardly buy on eBay.

    • Probably because most people cannot stand the $3 max final fee replacement rubbish. FeeBay, we know we still have to pay PayPal fee so I still want my no FVF for 3 listings per month back.

  • Worked for me thanks

  • How does it know to apply this offer and not the monthly list 40 without insertion fee offer? I just listed an item and it didn’t apply this one . I have activated it

    • +1

Same thing happened with me but easily solved it with Ebay online chat.

    • As long as u activate. It good to go. Anything happen, chat online will solve any problem in 10 minutes. Their chat support is good at given refund for wrongful fee charge

      • +1

their chat has been useless lately i think things have been tightened up. every one h have had to deal with basically admit my issues arent fair but there's nothing they can do

  • +1

My other eBay account with 1 feedback got this, but my main account stopped being eligible.

The annoying thing is, my listings don't even show up in search results with my secondary account. I don't know if it's a bug in the system or it's because the account is relatively new…

    • eBay listings are indexed once a day, not instantly. You will likely see it in the Search result within the next 24 hours.

      • I chatted with support and indexing can take 24-72 hours apparently. My main account never has this provlem (things would list and show up pretty much instantly). I guess it's cause my secondary account is only a few months old.

        • its hit an miss for accounts.
my main account been around a while listed instantly my partners account that's been around a while (both with good ratings) takes ages to list. and a new one created listed instantly and partners still had not listed.

  • Worked on an account I never sold on before, fingers crossed it lasts a while.

    • +1

It's possible once you reach a certain number of sales or something, this promo might stop on your account. Looks like this is eBay's way of encouraging new sellers. There are no promotions for established sellers.

  • I always get a "list item for free on eBay" when posting things on Gumtree. I believe it's 2 per month.

    • +4

I (and just about everyone else I believe) get List for Free all the time on eBay. It is the Final Value fee that you have to watch out for - just over 10% of your final sale price. This deal is about paying only $1.10 Final Value fee.

      • +1

Correct always read the term and condition of the offer that you get.

        • gumtree does give 2 free listings per month. and i think (don't quote me) it includes the final value fees. my partner has done it a few times. i have never bothered as i heard alot of people having to chase ebay up to get fees refunded

      • The Gumtree offer is no fees at all, including final value.

  • +2

I got the offer. I get the offer every time. eBay is too damn expensive, so I just hoard until the decreased final value fee comes up. Never had an issue, but will screen shot from now on.

  • Does it have to sell by Sunday night, or can you put a 7 day auction?

    • Have to list by Sunday

    • List before 23:59 today (Sunday 21/7).

  • do you need to activate offer everyweekend?

    • That is how it has always worked previously so i would assume yes.

  • Looks like this $1.10 promo is only for accounts that have little or no activity.

    • At the other end of the scale, the EBay Plus 15% off is limited to store sellers with many active sales, to attract more sales for them. Seems like nothing in between for the regular Joe's and Mary's :-(

  • +1

Thanks OP, just listed a few bits of camera lenses and gear I had to get rid of, should save a heap in final value fees!

  • +1

Yes, this is an ongoing promotion but targeted at accounts with "less" transactions.
    So nothing new realy.
If you have an eBay account with less than 50 transactions you will probably receive this promotion. Not sure of the exact criteria but from that I see in my 3 eBay accounts this is close.

  • Nice I was targeted this weekend, but haven't been since this promo went live, awesome!

  • A word of caution - I clicked accept on this offer (confirmation displayed on the screen) and then again on the weekend immediately before posting, yet eBay charged the full standard fee a week later when five items sold.

  • Nothing this weekend??

  • Working for me this weekend

    • I get the banner but when I click it I get an error saying it's expired.

      • I've seen the banner all week, each time I clicked I got the expired page too. Tried this morning and it worked, so luck of the draw I guess?

        • I chatted with eBay they said lots of people have the same problem, they added me to the list.

  • After months of not having it I suddenly received an invitation this weekend. I wonder if it's targeted based on how much you've historically sold? For example, while I was regularly getting the promotion I was selling quite a lot. Once I stopped getting the promotion I wasn't selling nearly as much simply because I wasn't listing as much. Now that my historical sales volumes have dropped it would make sense that I start getting the invites again. Anyway, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

  • +1

Looks like there's a new $1.10 promo in addition to this one, so worth checking if you're targeted:
    Acceptance Link
    Terms

Worked on my old accounts that hadn't previously qualified for this deal.

  • Not working anymore?

  • Looks like it's over, not showing up on my other account either (never sold on before, pretty sure I've seen it there).

    • yes, Could not get it to work on my account either where I usually used to get it where I have never sold before.

      • I’m still getting it every week on both my accounts

        • Do you have a link to the offer for this week? I would like to try it on my accounts… Thanks!

  • Make sure cancel listings that won't sell before auto $3.85 rellisting fees guys .

  • Dang it, the offer expires just when I wanted to start selling a few stuff. 13%+ is just too steep

  • Looks like these $1 listing offers are well and truly over
