    They have been cheaper

I know what you mean, I bought my set in 94 at the start of my apprenticeship, shouldve bought more than one set at that price eh?
Since I didnt loan them to anyone, still using the full set original now.

maybe with quality tools, price doesnt matter (but I never bought from blackwoods again lol)

      • I've had mine since 96, great units. I am sure I'm missing one or two now thanks to the kids but I can't remember…. do I order another set?

        • Long wished for, finally bought mine in '87, metric ball only. Like most stuff imported from the US back in the day before the era of inexpensive and quality Chinese manufactured goods, they were twice the price of this double set here just for the single metric set back then at trade pricing!

Been using them for over 30 years. Holder has faded and is looking the worse for wear, but the tools are as functional as the day I bought them. Quality tools which have never let me down. I wouldn't be without them. So how could I resist? I just pressed the buy button. Been getting by with a venerable double end hex short set in Imperial for years, half of them missing now courtesy of the tool faeries'. Be a delight to have a full Bondhus ball set in Imperial too. Thanks ahoyhoy.

          • @odal: Can confirm. Got my set back when I started my apprenticeship in 91. Still using them to this day. Never had one round off or snap. I lost one tiny one from the metric set, but apart from that, still get a daily work out.

  • Great price.

  • Expired still shows same price?

  • Not sure on price but these are an excellent tool. Have been using them for the last 15 years.

  • Good price.

  • Got this similar set, but without the ball end. Tempted to get these, cause how handy that is at times.

    • Do it. I have these in metric. Had double end hex only in metric and imperial in standard length different but quality brand in a wallet. The ball end alone is worth buying them for, but they are also the perfect length for most jobs and this holder is the pick IMV. I prefer it to the folding tool wallet style holders. Bondhus are the best. I've had mine for 32 years, and they'll outlast me. I just hit buy for the imperial ball set.

Bought the 10946 set, metric 1.5-5mm

    $9.37 free delivery.

Was tempted to get the metric long arm set 16099 at $16.54, (I've never had a need for imperial hex keys/Allen keys)

Repco have the same ones in their $10 bin including the ball.

      The metric and imperial set?

      • I have some of the $10 repco ones and they're fine, but they're not the same quality as these

  • I'll stick with my set from bunnings for a couple bucks.

  • Just as an aside, we should start to see a lot of deals on old stock Hex keys now that Wera's patent has expired on the hex plus profile.

  • These are great tools and this is a good price.

On my first day as an apprentice electrician many years, we were told to buy the best quality tools we could afford. I'm still using many of the tools I got back then today. I would go further and say that if funds are tight, buy the best hand tools you can afford and go cheaper on the power tools

Can vouch for these - extremely high quality own both sets

  • Looks like there are a bunch of good deals on these at the moment. I have no use for imperial so I got various different metric ones

  • In my list of tools I love using are these Allen ball head, screwdriver handle Bondhus set.
For quick assembly these are the kitty

  • Could have done with these a few days ago, I tried to undo a few rusted hex socket bolts on a MTB and my cheap Chinese allen keys twisted like a stick of licorice.

  • "L-Wrench" that's new to me

Above jokes aside, this is about as good as an allen key set you'll ever own.
The cheap chinese crap you get from Bunnings or Supercheap will bend, or will strip the nut.
    These allen keys won't.

This particular double set retails for about $70 locally. For $28 delivered this is awesome deal.

Thanks for posting OP, got one!

  • I was in Bunnings today looking for a set as my $2 have gone awol. I was too cheap to buy the small set at $6.99 thinking I'd be able to score myself a set on Ebay for half of that. Instead, I end up buying a set of the Bondhus for more than three times the price

  • Bugger. Just missed the free delivery cut off….was about to get another set.
(to add to the other set I just bought)
