I've been after a specific monitor for a few months but every time I contact Dell asking to purchase they say it's out of stock, even though it's listed on the website as in stock.

Silly question, but would a gamer prefer Dell UltraSharp U2415 24" Monitor (60Hz) or another one within the similar price range but with 144Hz?

  Definitely 144Hz. My 16:10 24" monitor was good but 144Hz is definitely nice to have.
  
  Of course it depends if you have a PC capable of making use of >60Hz and/or freesync etc.

    It's in the same outlet store, just set the max resolution to 2k and it's the cheapest one.
