    Surface has touch screen which is glossy. A sleeker and premium design.

    This one has no Touch Screen, The display is bigger and is antiglare. Has a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.1 Type A port. This also has a full HDMI and a USB C port which the Surface laptop does not.

    Depends on what your use is. I will get this one over the surface laptop any day.

  Would this be good for a high school student??

  As in weight and battery life? Also is a touch screen better for them? Any input appreciated! Cheaper suggestions also welcome :-) TIA

    I have the earlier model, which is very similar specs. Got my girlfriend to pull the trigger on this deal due to how impressed I've been with mine.

    This would be a great student laptop. Definitely worth the price. Very light and portable, yet sturdy build. I ride my bike in to work and barely know it's there.

    I'm not too sure how necessary a touch screen would be for a student, but I don't seem to need it.

    Battery life seems fine to me. Can't fault it.
