  • Price in title mate.

  • Very similar one here with 4Gb RAM, dedicated ATI graphics and cheaper ($549):

yep. and for 584 with a bluray

…to be fair this is current gen i3, ones from mln are last years

Intel Core i3 2310M (2613 CPU marks) vs Intel Core i3-370M (2221 pass marks) ref: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

    • The one from MLN is a X series. This one is a K series.

I dont know where the X series lines up, but I have a K series Asus and it is built so much better than the Thinkpad E520 that I just bought.

  • No deal from me, given the price and it's only 2gb of ram.

It might be the current gen i3, but is the performance discernible in daily use or just a benchmark difference?

Pretty sure the reduced RAM (and possibly GPU) would have more real world affect that slightly faster CPU.

    • I think the only time you would notice the CPU difference would be in 100% processor usage number crunching tasks.

If watching full HD encoded videos, the extra performance from the ATI video card would be noticeable.

Overall, I would prefer the extra RAM and ATI video card for better usability.

    • Well, all the 2nd gen i3's out class all the first gen i5's.

I think sandy bridge uses significantly less power too, so that may mean noticeably better battery life…?

  • JB had the 14" K43E with same specs, except 4GB of RAM, for $575 during their 15% off sale. Probably could negotiate it for low $600s at one of their less busy stores.
