Not a super amazing deal but something I thought some people might like. Normally $16.80/month on Google Australia
I never realised that you actually get unlimited storage with G-Suite accounts.

    G-Suite Account for ~$14.90

    Well spotted…

  • The way you typed it makes it sounds like a one off payment but it is a monthly subscription right?

    • yeah it is a monthly subscription

    … for $1.90 ?

    • +1

And ongoing savings are speculative at best given it's subject to exchange rates.

  • Does anyone know of a way to get continuing g suite basic discounts?

    • +1

Mine has stayed discounted for the last 18 months. When I log in online it says discounted.

  • Regarding ‘unlimited storage’, this is what their blurb says:

”Unlimited cloud storage (or 1TB per user if fewer than 5 users)”

So you’ll have to buy at least 5 monthly licenses to make that work…

    • +6

in writing only. not enforced. it's unlimited for one user currently.

      • Oh serious? Profanity. I've been paying for 5. I'll have to investigate….

😂 pls figure out and report back

if u want to see how much data some people have one a single user account check /r/datahoarder

        • +1

Paying for more accounts increases your daily upload cap by 750GB, not that anyone here can actually hit that.

          • +1

@escalier: with one account you just use —bwlimit 8M

          • +1

@escalier: Not in most places in Australia. Maybe if you have a gigabit up.

            • +1

@Arcticviper: Right, but we're on Ozbargain where presumably most of the people are in Australia. I am aware.

              • +1

@escalier: I've got a gigabit up at uni so I could hit my 750g cap in about 2 hours. Problem is I'd actualy need enough files to hit the cap. Otherwise my 40 megabit up would only do 350-400gb a day if fully saturated anyways.

              • @escalier: American server, gigabit up to G on the West Coast maxes at 450mbit/s for me

          • @escalier: Oh that's ok then. I wouldn't hit that daily cap. However, I do have 450tb stored.

          • @escalier: Alot using as plex media storage

  • For 1.90… the trouble of starting a new account and switching between account. No Deal bro

  • Office 365 Business Essentials is still better value?

    • That's still only 1TB of storage vs Unlimited storage.

  • Probably not worth it if the AUD value continues to fall. Then it'll be a pain to switch to AUD pricing.

  • Sounds good

  • It's a real ordeal to later change countries, I've done it when I moved a business email from the UK to Australia.

It's not simple, you'll need tech support and then it'll get escalated a few times. It was time consuming.

  • My G-Suite Business (unlimited storage) is costing me $11 per month. But I did upgrade from the basic one which was $4 per month.

    • How are you getting $11?

      • As I said, I was paying $4 for the basic and I upgraded to Business. Those were the prices I was charged and what I'm still being. Maybe its gone up a lot recently/

        • Ah OK, like a grandfathered price? Bummer. I'm happy to pay $11 but for some reason not $16.80.

  • Couldn't you just buy edu account and have unlimited google drive?

Then create a shared drive and share it with your personal email for unlimited space also.

    • I believe those accounts get deleted often and you can lose everything and access to them.

    • Because you cna lose access to it at any time, also it means someone else has the ability to view your files.

  • I still have 2 grandfathered free G-Suite accounts.

    • Same. Aren't they the best?

  • Data would be stored in India not australai tho?

    • 😂 I don't think that's how data storage works lol

      • business plans should be storing at local google servers
