Can someone explain… why do we need wifi enabled RGB LMNOP lightbulbs, downlights, upslights, sidelights?

    • +1

For smart control if you are smart.

    • So you can control these via an app, or voice control via Google Home/Alexa.

      e.g.
      - Setup schedules when you're away or have them turn on when you arrive home.
      - Turn off all lights before you sleep from the comfort of your bed.

You might be disabled or lazy and want hands-free control using voice assist. Or maybe you want advanced control over the state, brightness or colour of your lights depending on different triggers such as time or motion sensors being activated. Good lights should be controlled via a central hub and integrate with ifttt.com. Not sure that these do.

    • I use them because I can control the lights at home with a schedule and voice control them. Have a dog at home and I usually turn on the door lights entire day which I don't have to anymore since it does it automatically.

And most of the time I don't wanna get out of my bed to turn off the lights too :P

    • Why do you need to know?

3.5 inch is equivalent to our 90mm cutout?

    • Instructions for the device ask for a 100mm cut out

One spam every 7 days since 11/6. Pls play smarter.

    • Part time marketing staff?

      • I hope they didn't hire a "marketing agent" doing this for them.

  • aldi has a similar product this week at $29.99

    • These can be reprogrammed with tasmota, so you dont need to have to use cloud, and can be fully local

      • The Aldi ones can be flashed also, but not OTA unfortunately it seems.
However they are only tuneable white, these are RGBW.

        • Did you flash them with any issues?

          • @asa79: Haven't myself but no issues I can see judging from that comment.

            • @bamzero: Wasnt harsh, was curious, as if they are easy to flash as the zemismart by wire and controller

              • @asa79: No worries, didn't read it as harsh ;) I popped the back off one and everything looks easily accessible so shouldn't be too hard to wire up and flash but I haven't had any experience with it. spider76 made it sound easy enough though.

    • Aldi downlights arent RGB, they are White/Warm only

  • What makes this 'au type'? If it's au why is the size in inches?
