If you add an $18 item you can combine with $50 off $500 spend referral code. There's also a targeted $30 cash back on $300 spend with Latitude.
Looks like you can only have 1 coupon code at a time. When I entered my referral code it removed the Frenzy-50 code for the same total price
Lol can't trust Latitude with my info after their security breach and the findings of their actual incompetence
yeah latitude leaked all that financial information and personal information too
Damn, we paid &600 for this
It said rrp is $589.
lol you don't have to rub it in
Depends on the $/& exchange rate
Bought it last year
What's your thoughts on it?
Heat Pump dryers are the most energy efficient of all the drying types. We use this exclusively now (lazy, can't be bothered hanging them up) and honestly haven't noticed a change in our power consumption, although I'm sure there is one 😁
I lived in an apartment and used a dryer exclusively, there was a very noticeable drop in the power bill when I switched to a heat pump. Basically pays for itself!
We do the same thing. Additionally really good for removing lint and pet hair.
Sometimes I run my duffle through on cold setting just to remove the bits.
Have you notificed a difference in the state of your clothing?
We've noticed pilling on bedding, and shirts wearing out faster.
I heard quite opposite. Having dryer is good on clothes. Saving them from harsh sun.( QLD)
It's wild how efficient they are. At my current tariff it would cost me ~$70 a year if I used it twice a week. I'm always tempted by these coming into winter.
Hats off to you. That is amazing
My current heat pump dryer has a 2nd filter just before the fin. I think this one doesn’t has a 2nd filter, will that be a problem?
Yes it's a problem
You will need to purchase some condenser filters from AliExpress, 8 for $10 or something and clean them on a regular basis (eg once a month)
Otherwise it's a huge pain to clean the condenser fins and you can bend them easily.
Never knew this existed. How does it work and does it affect the safety and operation of the dryer?
Could you link to the specific filters you bought?
Yes, would you tell me more about this, and what to buy and where to put it?
@huu: I just posted a link to the filter on AliExpress, and my comment was removed. I’m not sure which guideline this breached, but I don’t really understand how removing an AliExpress link re a relevant discussion helps improve Ozbargain. Could someone clarify the exact reasoning behind this? I'd love to link the filter
@carpecrash: yeah some links get remove, try disguised it like wwwdotmylinkdotcom see if we can work it out or try remove letters from ?=
@carpecrash: I really not sure if that is the right filter btw. This one might work too: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007299495306.html
@carpecrash: If anyone is reading this, the first link isnt the right filter, the one below is likely the right one (ordered the one above and its too small)
@huu: Search for 2964840100
You open the front flap (bottom left, two tabs) where the condenser fins are. It fits perfectly on top of the condenser.
Make sure your condenser fins are clean, search YouTube on how to clean without damaging/bending.
No it doesn't affect anything. Lots of dryers are sold with an additional in built removable filter, you can even buy an assembly to house the filter for this machine, but it's a waste of money.
It will need to be cleaned every 4 weeks or so, but cleaning it is much easier than cleaning your condenser fins.
Once the condenser fins are clogged, your drying time will increase dramatically to a point where it doesn't really work anymore.
@TEER3X: I've ordered the filters but dryer is now not coming - if anyone is in ACT and wants to pick up the filters let me know
Had this dryer for couple of years. Haven't had any issues yet.
Where are these ali express filters supposed to go?
how/where do you insert this additional filter?
Front flap (bottom left, two tabs) that opens up to reveal condenser fins.
@TEER3X: I’ve bought the filters and am unsure where it goes? Do I just jam it into the crevice in front of the fins?

@twodollah: Okay so I did a bit of looking into this and it appears this model (EHPD800-W) does not have the ability to put in a secondary filter. The removable cover protecting the condenser fins is a different design to some of the Youtube videos I've seen. It is just a plate versus a basket design shown in the Youtube videos.
I could be wrong though.
@donny donny: I've just done a cycle with the filter on for the first time without any issue.
I just pushed the filter against the condenser fins.
@crazynic: thanks mate, i have just got my filter. my filter is a bit too big i may need to cut it a bit…
@crazynic: Hi @crazynic @twodollah - are you still using filter per the picture now? Any problem so far?
@xsw123: Hi @xsw123, yes still using it. Did my second cycle today with the filter on it, no problem at all. Just washed the filter as it started to get dirty but the condenser fins still look brand new, no lint attached to them.
@xsw123: Yep, still using the filter as per picture. No problems that are immediately obvious. I think cycles take slightly longer which is to be expected since you’re restricting flow. One thing I’ll keep an eye on is whether the filter will get damp from the hot moist air.
It definitely catches lint though as you can see a build up already.
Hi! I bought this and i don't really know where to put it.
My dryer fins look like this…
https://youtube.com/shorts/hfqX1SH4gQo?si=CQFHoU7GQ6vTX2lc
When you open the compartment, u take it out and it's just a lid, there's no box like https://youtu.be/3eem7F2XMJ8?t=431
Can you please snap a pic of where you put it? Surely you don't place it just on the fins?
Thanks mate
@crazynic: oh thanks, i missed that link!
i think i have the wrong filter… mine is loose in there, and doesn't look flush in there.
I may have grabbed it from Temu instead and thought it'd be the same. I'll use your link, thank you
edit: Actually, after looking at your photo, it seems my condensor fins are pushed back on one side! I didn't realise it was faulty all this time. Time to contact Essato!
I had a ALDI essentially a rebadged of this.
It has 2 filters in the chamber, like Russian doll. In comparison now I have a SOLT brand from good guys it has one in the chamber and one in front of the fins.I have not notice any difference TBH given both having two filters just located in different places.
Fins on my old 7kg clogged up. I have not noticed this on my 8kg unit. If you did need to clean, I recommend using a vacuum as wiping on the 7kg fins only pushed more and more lint in further each time I wiped.
I got this fairly recently. I love it. Very efficient. Doesn't vent, so no humidity. More gentle on clothes than other non heat pump dryers.
Note also in SA you can get a rebate after purchase through the energy efficiency scheme.
Can also get a rebate in Victoria
I'm confused by the rebate process. Do you just contact any accredited provider?
Yeah I think so. I haven’t done it yet. Rebate hub com au looks good.
@sween64: Just rang them, you need to complete this form:
https://rebatehub.com.au/program/energy-efficient-clothes-dr…
Note that the rebate is $60 but it says $70 on the VEU website…
@donny donny: No haven't heard back from them yet. The website seems legit and have a LinkedIn page.
They are also listed as an accredited provider on the VEU Website
How can it not vent…? Where does the water go?
They have water reservoirs that you empty
Oh that's actually really cool and I'm buying a dryer soon too so I will definitely be getting one that does that
Or you can plumb it to drain automatically.
Does it fully dry your clothes? I've heard heat pump dryers sometimes can't quite finish the job?
I don't have much experience of other dryers. I find for lighter things it does fully dry them. For re-useable nappy liners, which are multiple layers of highly absorbent fabric, it doesn't quite do the job.
No humidity? Would be keen to upgrade if so.
I've been using the ALDI heat pump dryer for a year but it still gets very humid in the room (internal laundry room with no windows).
This is a condensing dryer - instead of venting moisture into the room it is all condensed into a reservoir you empty down the sink.
Mine is also a condenser dryer but it still gets pretty humid in there if I don't leave the door open.
This one:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/785437@Sqz66: Confused by these comments as heat pump dryers are different to condenser dryers. Condenser dryers are notoriously terrible so definitely hoping this is one much better!
If you already have a heat pump I doubt this unit would be very different.
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/whats-new/heat-pump-or-conden…
@larndis: I may have used the wrong language, I mean that it does condense and not vent the moisture
Would you be able to place this on carpeted floor?
Yes, but it's heavy, so you may have trouble removing the feet dents after it's been sitting there for years, but same for beds etc anyway
Thanks!
Put a tea towel over the dent and iron it, they come straight out
Awesome tip!
Curious which carpeted room you intend to place the dryer?
yeah because most bathrooms are tiled. it's not a good idea to put it in your living room. it might catch fire and cause life threatening injuries.
I'm not so worried about the fire. I'm just not sure I would want the heat pump noise in the living room or bed room.
its a good dryer , have had mine since 2021 and performance has slowly reduced. I also bent the condenser fins when trying to clean it first time so be careful and use a proper brush that won't bend them..
When it does eventually breakdown, its likely to only be the belt. If it's out of warranty, it's doable to replace if your competent in being handy electrically/mechanically. The belt part is 7PH1956 for around $10 delivered on Ali. Replaced mine twice in 3 years.
Do you have any video instructions for the belt replacement?
Twice in 2 years ain't good but at least you know what the problem is and it's cheap.
As hard to do as an car engine oil change? Or are we talking about transmission replacement?
Yeah that throws me off buying this a bit, if it's super easy to replace I guess…
How challenging is it. About 30 screws.Top, front and right panels removed. Then just remove idler tensioner spring, slip new belt between gap between from panel and drum, tension. There's some a couple of electronics to get out the way, and hoses, so it's really just a matter of reassembling. There's a few different types of screws but they're interchangeable. I'd give it around an hour to do, and much easier to reassemble having the replacement part ready
So probably a spark plug change (but not in a Subaru)
@JimB: Damn you just gave me a flashback of when I was 17 and my CBR250R (which was a 4 banger, so the smallest cylinders you could imagine) had a spark plug break off in the block.
Spent two weeks stripping the bike and engine to remove it. My god.
Don’t forget to register your purchase on the Essato website for an additional year of warranty https://esatto.house/warranty
Mine broke down a few weeks ago and is out of 2 year standard warranty.
After reading you comment just searched my emails for "Esatto" and voila, I did register for additional warranty at the time of purchase.
Called them up and now it should be fixed under warranty. Apparently it is a belt issue.
Australian consumer laws are your friend here. A dryer would be considered a durable product and should last longer than 2 years. Under ACL the manufacturer is liable to fix it for free.
Hi @BrisneyLand
How would we determine "fair" life of a product? I lost similar argument with Kmart, where their heater failed after 1 year and their warranty is only 365 days. I couldn't get a refund or replacement despite quoting that a reasonable life for a heater is not same as warranty offered by manufacturer. Is there a specific guide in Australian Consumer law or a matrix of some sort?
@johnelviv: The Effective Life of Depreciating Assets is a good guide as to how long the ATO thinks things should last. Note, this is not Australian Consumer Law. For household items search the PDF for industry 67110. https://www.ato.gov.au/law/view/document?DocID=TXR%2FTR20221…
@johnelviv: Generally speaking, the only qualified entity that can say how long is reasonable time for it to last and by extension if it minor or major under s54 is a court or a judge. Anything the business says it pointless as they aren't qualified to make that call. Unfortunately, this does mean you generally need to at least escalate through your OFT or file with Small Claims
@VCertainty: OFT or Consumer Protection cannot enforce individual matters. There effective lion without teeth and business know this. Your need to go small claims or courts to enforce individual claims.
Small claims fees which varies between states and territory could end up been few hundred dollars.
I am for ACL but l think they might need to change the actual law to create a minimum expected life of common goods rather than using common law aka case law.
Then people wouldn't need to take the matter to court all the time.
@johnelviv: That is a valid question and unfortunately there is no way. The expected life of a product category should be explicitly stated in the ACL to avoid any dramas and to actually protect the consumer but the governments want to protect the businesses and not consumers hence why they wouldn't add it to ACL. It would be bloody straightforward for example to embed in the ACL that a product like a 'Refrigerator' or 'Washing Machine' should last a minimum 5 years. But that needs strong political willpower which our government lacks due to the party funding they get from all these businesses. And also due to the fact that a typical Australian consumer doesn't stand up and ask for this.
only if you whinge or you get nothing
The exact same thing happened with mine, belt broke after ~2 years and 6 months. They offered to send the belt and suggested to fix it myself, I just said I registered for the extended warranted and mentioned ACL and they sent someone round and fixed it about a week later.
Ooops, I probably should have done that. Been more than 90 days now.
What is total warranty after registering? 3 years?
Manufacturer's warranty, yep
