ffs 1 minute and sold out? bait

  • +2

now it says a 20% off certain items https://pages.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/postie/

  • Payment went through, only to get an error >_<

  • +1

Didn't even pop up anywhere? How did you guys see it?

    • I had to use an incognito window to monitor the deals page for the updated link and code because I had a sneaking suspicion being logged in, you might not get the refreshed page immediately. Saw it pop up ~30 seconds early on the deals page in my incognito window (my logged in window showed nothing) and kept trying to apply coupon but it took till 10 exactly for code to work (kept spamming it but security code came up so I thought I was SOL).

  • +4

    Ozcompetition whoever has fastest internet..

    • +1

Probably so in the first round or 2. Successive rounds is who can code the best script.

  • This item is out of stock.

  • Lame, banner showed before I logged in but disappeared after I logged in.

    Sold out now

  • 1 min 44 sec and it was gone, so not even that fast coz no one could find it that quick

      • Same here, really annoying

    • Well that's a bit crap

  • +4

Well that was Fuc%(*^& annoying - had it in my cart super early and wouldn't ship to my address

keep getting error "something wrong with seller Account" Tried thice and then its sold out

  • Buy button come back please!

  • Thanks OP bought one.

  • +1

The banner appeared with the link to buy it only when logged out… how stupid. Oh, and the banner says "Selected sellers only" so I guess that means it won't be Bing Lee next hour.

NVM… this has saved me from explaining why I bought something I don't really need :P

  • +4

    Bought 0.
    Thanks.

  • Got one as well. Thanks for posting the deal!

  • Crap! Ozbargained before I could get through the useless adverts

  • Thanks OP. Missed out on the AirPods but got this deal. Glad I don't need to spend all day spamming the buy it now button.

  • -3

    bait and switch

  • +4

no notification about the deal for plus member?

  • +5

    Thanks saved $79

    • another 100 every hour though

      • BingLee sticker says while stocks last..

  • 0 available 103 sold /

    • 3 suckers paid full price?

      • Would they be "protected" by eBay price guarantee?

        • +2

Unfortunately not! I had a similar issue and the eBay rep said that it's only valid for another approved competitor's website so nothing internal.

      • +1

I think they're old purchases from before the sale

  • Missed out. :(

    I’ll try again at 11am.

  • "Postage: Doesn't post to WA Remote"

Thanks for the "F You", eBay. Your Plus love is pretty frosty over here in WA.

    • Same with SA Regional.
Luckily I got family in the city I can send it to if I can grab one on the second round…

    • +1

Problem is Bing Lee being restrictive in shipping I think. Didn't see any complaints about shipping with the AirPods being sold by what was likely an internal eBay account.

      • +1

        Yeah, it's Bing Lee, but…

I don't pay Bing Lee for the shipping, I pay eBay for the shipping. eBay is happy to throw Bing Lee products and sales at me, telling me that I should buy them. I do the product research, and decide to proceed, only to be told at the checkout that I'm not good enough.

I can understand the economic rationale for the geographical discrimination, but the way that they handle it (present it to the customer) is awful.

Compare with Amazon Australia: Much like eBay Plus, I also pay Amazon for the shipping. Prime is absolute on all Prime products, no matter the seller, the item size, or my postcode. It never tells me that I'm a second class customer due to where I lived.

Prime allows me more dignity than Plus. Even in remote WA I feel less cut off from the rest of the country due to its easy inclusive nature.

If ebay Plus is going to run nationwide promos, then the least they can do is only run them when the promo product actually ships nationwide.

    • -2

yep sold out 8.01 am - bait and switch

    • Yeah same with VIC Regional, like wtf… at least my coworker lives in NSW

  • Thanks OP, I managed to grab one

  • +1

    Where exactly is Vic regional?

    • anywhere outside the cbd. According to ebay atleast

      • Seriously? What the actual heck

    • eBays Vic Regional seems to include Bendigo (they are refusing to ship there).

  • Wonder if it will be the same store at 11am?

  • is it quicker to 'do buy it now' or 'add to cart'?

    • Buy it now

      • How do you do "buy it now" and enter the code? I have only ever used "add to cart"

        • It takes you the checkout screen with payment details and area to enter code. It just skips the pointless cart page.

  • +2

Think it sums up eBay plus in general if one of their major partners won’t even post to regional areas

  • +1

So i'm assuming at 11am, the seller won't be Bing Lee again??

    • +2

I reckon they'll just restock. That's what happened with the airpods deal

  • Fleabay is turning into a farce.

  • Ebay Plus trial ends today, if I can pick one of these up at 11 or 12 before I go to work, and I cancel after purchase, I assume I get the free postage etc because I made the purchase before ending the trial, yes?

    • +2

If you cancel the trial you keep all benefits until it expires (even after cancelling it)
