Anker Nebula Portable Cinema Projector $497 (Was $599) Click & Collect @ David Jones (Officeworks Price Match $472)

70

Cheapest price for the Anker Nebula Portable Cinema Projector, they usually go for about $599 retail or $569 on eBay. I called Officeworks this morning to price match with David Jones' price and the final price was $472.15. Officeworks will stock it the next business day [Click & Collect] at any local store, once ordered via phone.

Anker Nebula Portable Cinema Projector is a soda-can size smart projector with high-contrast, a 360° speaker, Android 7.0 Nougat support and extended playtime. Has wonderful speakers and great battery life for watching movies portably. A newer model is out (version II), but it does not replace this current model and is much more expensive.

      Native Resolution: 854*480. I don't think it's a good choice.

      • I dont understand the use case of such a low res display

    • Yes, I have one mainly to take away on holidays (because it's so portable). Last Christmas I stayed at a beachside hotel with a rooftop bbq area. I projected the Big Bash cricket onto a white wall that was right near the bbq - awesome! Although it is 480p, most of the time you wouldn't even notice.

    • Got it projecting onto the white wall of my loungeroom. Very hard to view during the day, but at night it's pretty decent for my purposes of FTA TV and Kayo Sports. Having the ability to install Android apps (albeit through Aptoide rather than a proper store) is good too, although not all of them work (iView needs Google Services to run, which isn't on the device).

All in all pretty decent for the price, would buy again

I've been reviewing this device to purchase and found that you CAN install Google Play Store and Google Services by going to About and pressing enter 5 times then entering a specific password. You can ask Anker for assistance or if you Google it you should find the instructions online.

        • If you find it, post it up here ;)

      Costly, & I agree: It's NOT a Very Cost-Effective Choice.

(Amazon had small projectors - w/ traditional form shape
      - for ~$ 109. You could afford a few Spares, for the
price of this costly { odd-ball / innovative } product.)

They are pretty low vision home user friendly projector. There is one out compare to this model called Viewsonic M1+ better lumens and sharp image compare to this one.

This is generation 1. They already have generation 2 on the market.
generation 2 is 720p which is better than generation 1.
If you buy from China, generation 1 is about AUD350 and generation 2 is about AUD 600

  • Bear in mind there is a version 2 now out with better resolution and brightness.

  • Used to be kickstarter/indiegogo project.

  • Most of products I bought are crap. The earplugs, powerbank, portable Bluetooth speaker etc. I used to think Banker is good brand but after powerbank failed and earphones stopped working within a year, I did some research and found out that they are Chinese crap company who barely make good enough stuff, advertise heavily as known brands and charge three times the amount of other Chinese goods companies. Avoid

Anker got the status from wall chargers.

  • I got a small projector from Amazon for $89. 1080p. Explain why this low res thing would be a better way to go?

    • +2

There's no way an $89 projector is native 1080p.

    • I bought one of those too not bad for the price, would be perfect for Wii games etc returned it and got a real projector but still wasn't bad value.

      • Using it for the Switch and it's perfect. Even Netflix was decent and cheaper than buying a TV for the spare room for those sorts of things.

  • Cheaper now buying on eBay with the 'PEACH' code
EDIT - eBay just pulled the code

I got one of these few months back for 499 delivered from appliiances online.com. au & I highly rate it as a portable fun projector. The resolution and lumens may sound low, but it's not crap by any means. It's surprisingly bright and does relatively good colour. It's built well and sure does take an accidental beating like being dropped numerous times from fairly great heights, including roofs….long story, Its super fun to carry around the house while going to the toilet, cooking in the kitchen and outside to let the dog pee. No seriously you will end up projecting it onto all kinds of surfaces because it's so portable. Outside smoker? This ones for you.. Easily stolen by teenagers from parents for drinking nights under bridges or on school ovals after dark, Easily concealed in most hoodies. This is not a pro projector it's a super fun projector, Worth it. Oh and plug a Chromecast into it for the win.
