  • Not as good a deal as when Huawei were offering the free Sonos speaker and/or the $200 gift card :(

    • Rip old deal:(

    • +3

I've emailed Huawei to see if this falls under the 'Telstra' category for the Watch promo. :)

      • Nice one if you can.. call jb may get a quicker response

Unlikely though, says: Telstra, Optus and Vodafone stores only

      • +4

Just got the response … no dice. :(

        • +1

Shame was good while the thought lasted lol

        • +10

Tell them I never wanted dice anyways. So how about the watch?

        • That's unfortunate. Would have been a great deal !

      • +1

I made a claim on the previous JB/Telstra deal and managed to get a watch.

        • What were the T&Cs of that?

          • @wellzi: It stated it had to be purchased via Telstra or Vodafone. What I sent them as proof was a screenshot of the PDF contained on the telstra email titled "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW PLAN". That should have a PDF containing the $65 plan details and that was the one I took a screenshot of. I shared this with another ozbargainer here and he got a watch too.

            • @savemesomemoney: May I ask if you can send me thee screenshot as well? I checked the email and P30 is not mentioned in that PDF. Just want to confirm. Thank you for your help.

              • @maogua: Nah the p30 is nowhere mentioned on that PDF but it still goes through. My guess is as long as they see Tesltra on it they're happy to ship it.

                • @savemesomemoney: That PDF mentions about "JB Hi-Fi Mobile BYO Plan $65" on it as well, think they might reject this. Or you are talking about other PDF?

                • @savemesomemoney: Do you mind sending me the screenshot? I want to try my luck with this one. Thank you.

            • +1

              @savemesomemoney: That's… surely a fluke! haha

              Regardless, nice work!! :)

        • Can't even make it through the IMEI check, think they have record which batch goes to Telstra.

          • @maogua: That's a bummer. They probably fixed it then. Sorry fellow ozbargainers.

            • +1

@savemesomemoney: No. I just bought this deal. Confirmed, I put imei successful. I upload the pdf screenshoot same savemesommoney. I managed to get 2 plans, but can't get better price, $199 each. Will get 2 watches then. Thanks for tips.

              • @cmdnxtt: Good to hear!

                • +1

@savemesomemoney: My watches have been dispatched. Chee!

                  • @cmdnxtt: How did you manage to claim them? Did it not say that the phone was not from a participating seller?

                    • @puzzles2: I did not say anything. Input the imei (should double check match both invoice and the 1st imei on the box). Fill forms and upload the screenshoot of the pdf file telstra send you (even it has jbhifi byo plan, it is OK to go). Your watch will dispatch in only 1 or 2 days wait. Cheer!

                  • @cmdnxtt: Tried. Cannot pass IMEI check.
"This IMEI is not from a participating retailer. If you think there has been an error, please contact us."

                  • @cmdnxtt: how did you pass the imei check from promotion page?

                    • @oznature: Hi. For all ozbargainers issued with imei check. You have to make sure the first imei on the box scanned clearly the same on your invoice. That the sale system will match with Huawei. I got my second one in trouble. Found out that the imei on the box was scanned incorrectly in the receipt. So ask the counter scanned imei correctly, and you should double check. If it is not match back to store ask them fix or replace. I do replace and double checked. Claim in 1 minute after.

                      • @cmdnxtt: hi:
i double check the imei between box and invoice are the same. i also went back to change another brand new one. it still cannot pass the imei checking in the promotion website. so i don’t know how to claim it.thanks

                        • @oznature: Check whether the number 6 or 5 is correct. They are easy miss match. Other case is, maybe just maybe, the 2nd i got is crystal clear color, when I replace I careful chance to aurora color (same with the 1st one) and it did work. So for this case I am not sure. Last chance maybe you have to contact them by email to work it out.

                          • @cmdnxtt: hi:
i went back to replace the crystal to aurora. the imei same as box. i try to email huawei but they said this offer only for telstra. maybe i am unlucky.

                            • @oznature: Hi mate, keep trying please. I can do it with 2 plans, 2 phones and 2 watches. I am doing upgrade to M2M plans too. Keep do it mate! We are ozbargain! Go on, Good LUUUUUUCCK!

                            • +1

@oznature: Hi, I just successful upgrade 2 plans to M2M. In your case if you want, you might try to upgrade to M2M, from that you will have the order exactly from Telstra, all is Telstra without "JB Mobile". You can use that to ask for the watch. Remember use different email to contact Huawei with the first one that you fail with them. Hope this work. The best thing is keep try to replace the phone and try the IMEI over the web as it won't notice on the file upload unless have something Telstra.

                            • @oznature: Hi, I think in your case if the IMEI show "cannot find…" maybe It mean someone claimed on that IMEI already (I have just try to check this case when I input IMEI that I successfully claimed). So keep replace.

                              • @cmdnxtt: hi: yesterday i told to them i want to change the colour. today i don’t know what reason they can change for me.

                                • @oznature: I tried but didn't pass through IMEI check. I think if you really keen to get the watch you need to exchange the phone from JB store that @cmdnxtt got it from, cause that store might have bunch of P30 that is registered to Telstra.

                                  • @yummypinacolada: Same didn’t work for both my phones either

                                  • @yummypinacolada: hi:
i got the email reply from huawei. they said only the phone bought from telstra can claim this watch. tomorrow i will try to exchange the phone with shop but i don’t think jb hi-fi will agree to exchange it.

                                    • @oznature: just confirming that i 'think' i got a watch as well!
well i got an email saying the claim was approved, and watch is on its way.
i submitted the claim last night, and i used the same PDF that savemesomemoney referenced.
might be just luck of the draw with different IMEI?

                                      • @Arghs: Which store did you get your phone from?

                                      • @Arghs: So your IMEI wasn't blocked?

                                        • @puzzles2: I had a crystal one and the imei was blocked. Switched to green and the imei wasn't blocked. Received tracking confirmation. I provided pdf of plan confirmation.

                                          • @googoogaga: I don't think there's a green for P30, only Aurora and Crystal. Which store did you get it from? I gave up on the watch since its really hit and miss. Did you manage to swap P30 to other phone from other JB store?

                                            • @yummypinacolada: Yes sorry aurora. Looks green.
                                              Swapped in Chatswood.
Might just try to sell it as a package now with the watch instead of returning. Don't want to screw with the next buyer

                                          • @googoogaga: Got the aurora and it passed the imei check too. Mine got dispatched less than 24hrs after claim got approved.

Asked about the stock level, aurora seems to be in higher demand. I assume theyre restocking them more (maybe some from telstra) than the crystal one.

                                      • @Arghs: hi:
can you tell me how long were you waiting after you claim this watch? thanks

                                        • @oznature: Anyone in Melbourne manage to get a watch

                                          • @AussieMark: I put my IMEI in, and it got a tick, so not blocked.
                                            Mine was aurora.
And yes I'm in melb. Stock was from the ringwood store.

I haven't got the watch yet, it's still on its way. But confirmation that my claim is valid was quick. less than 24 hours

                                            • @Arghs: Thanks buddy. I might try swapping my phone

                                              • @AussieMark: From our small sample size it seems like the Auroras are the ones going through with the claim? My P30 is the crystal and it didn't go through..

                                                • @puzzles2: I had aurora and swapped to crystal JB Southland

                                                  Both didn't work :(

                                                  • @AussieMark: Damn, guess that maybe its only certain stock then, wondering if I should try going to Ringwood store to swap to crystal and maybe I can get lucky like Arghs

                                                  • @AussieMark: Seems like only certain Aurora going through, its a hit and miss. I had Aurora, now I don't know what reason I should tell them to swap to other Aurora. lol

                                                    • @yummypinacolada: I tried asking at the store if it's scanned through to Huawei lol they didn't understand what I was talking about 😂😂

I just said… If there's any warranty problem etc

                                                  • @AussieMark: we share the same fate my friend

              • @cmdnxtt: Did you do 2 separate claims? Or just 1 claim with 2 IMEIs?

                • @greenie: I cannot even get the IMEI to be recognised

                  • @AussieMark: Mine just says not from participating retailer

                • @greenie: Hi, if in your order estimate state 1 of $65 then 1 of each. If in order estimate state 2 of $65 then 2 at same time.

                  • @cmdnxtt: Thanks I'm trying to work out if anyone is going off the IMEI on the receipt or box

Will the phone give a different IMEI?
I cannot open it as it's a gift lol

                    • @AussieMark: I used the 1st IMEI on the box and it went through.

                  • @cmdnxtt: Thank you, my IMEI went through, hopefully it gets approved.

                    • @greenie: what city are you?

I wonder if i can try one more time haha

Oh i want to swap back to the original colour…

                      • @AussieMark: I'm in Perth. Hubby got the breathing crystal one but it came up with IMEI not recognised :(

                        • @greenie: thanks,

not sure if relevant but the JB hifi I went to I had to get the phone from the back of the store, they dont scan it at the desk.

                          Found it a bit weird

                          • @AussieMark: For everyone that not open box yet. You could askjb take it to help you sign another plan. I have do one, so the note 10 plus 256gb $1699. I get credit $999 for the p30 return, sign for 12 month $65 get $300 gc, the end I pay at counter $400. Plus actually paid $199 for p30, total cost me $599 got note 10 plus dual dim 256gb plus akg headphone and huawei watch. I of course changed the 3rd plan to m2m. Going to cancel when pick up the note. Cheer, what a deal of the year!!! I am worry not to sign 2 year $65 as no proof successful change to m2m from it. If anyone could do it a try, if luckily you would save another $200 as $500 gc given. Then total cost $399 got the LOT!!! You will maybe the most ozbargainer. Just more hint for you. The 12 month contract get $300 gc you don't need to port in, can do new number.

                            • @cmdnxtt: you are extremely lucky to be able to do that. I will give it ago tomorrow but i don't think they will let me swap.

                              • @h4zey: Let them hear your love hear about note 10 plus over p30 then iPhone 11 over note 10 plus and if you happy with iPhone 11 then cost total is $199 and profit if you lucky got watch and sell both watch and headphone. You WERE PAID FOR TO GET IPHONE 2019!!! If you happy with note 10 plus then cost $499 less $ some as I mentioned sell accessories.

                                • @cmdnxtt: will try it tomorrow, see if they let me change it LOL

                        • @greenie: Get your hubby the note 10 plus with head phone for total cost more $400 use my hint then if box unopened. Hope you on get it

                          • @cmdnxtt: here is a gift for you :)

                            Bonus $100 Gift Card!

                          • @cmdnxtt: ps how did you get the watch? You claimed then returned the P30? lol

                            Because no watch for Galaxy

                            • @AussieMark: Tomorrow there no promotion for the watch. And I don't think they will make promotion for these model any more. All now wait for iPhone 11, galaxy s11 and huawei mate generation

                              • @cmdnxtt: hope you can sell the ear phones

                                You are rich man hehe

                                • @AussieMark: If iPhone 11 is $1999 and is over the note, I will get $of headphone sold and buy it. Ah an iPhone 11 for $599 - $100 gc from note

                                  • @cmdnxtt: i dont do apple

i only do Orange / android

                                    • @AussieMark: Then you can sell apple higher price and buy orange after with some $ for android as well. I almost forget as 12 month get $300 gc so I pay $0 for the $1999 iPhone. Exactly $199 + $400 - $100 - $300 = $199 for iPhone 11. What huawei help so much. And sure can do it as 12month can do with new number

                                      • @cmdnxtt: You are super lucky, I don't think anyone else would be as lucky as yours. Which JB store allow you to swap?

                                        • @yummypinacolada: I just swapped from Aurora to Crystal. I thought its not gonna work that I need to swap once more(since everyone succeed only with Aurora), but lucky me that it works. So I guess the color doesn't matter, its really just hit and miss. Now waiting for my claim to be dispatched.

                                          • @yummypinacolada: Damn so I guess it's not even color dependent. Just depends on your luck, gonna try change color tmr cause why not.

                                          • @yummypinacolada: I gave up and sold it today hah

                                            All well.

The watch looks nice but I wonder if I'd even use it

                                            • @AussieMark: How much did you sell it for? Trying to sell it for $700 on Gumtree since last Monday, still no luck.
