I received my iPhone 7 and it also looks like brand new. But I haven’t setup yet.

just opened my 2 iphone7 units and they are in immaculate physical condition, however they have completely different coloured screens. I'm not sure how to tell which is the non-genuine though. Is there an app to check?

  • If your 7 or above has a new replacement screen does that mean the water proofing is gone?

I assume waterproofing in tact only with original parts and screen?

  • I got a iPhone 7 256 GB with model number NN982ZP/A in the system.
This model number doesn't seem to exist on google.
Also the screen color has a dusty feel, compared to my old iPhone 7, at the same brightness level, which is cool and clear.

I guess it could be a cheap assembled one using various components available?

    • Well, if I enable the color filter on this phone, and adjust the color tone, it can be made to be even much cool feel.

So it could be just screens been made by different manufactures.

    • i think you mean MN982ZP/A

      • It is NN982ZP/A

Yes most start with MN, but not this one
and there is no MN982ZP model either

        • Hi I don't know much about iPhone's but researching it the "N" indicates a replacement number so it is a Apple Replacement device (i.e Apple refurb). Click on it and it should show the A model (I think A1778 is the AU version, while A1660 is the global version). Confirm it by looking at the back of the iPhone 7.

If you are worried about unoriginal parts (3rd party replacement screen) maybe try weighing it. According to Apples specs the iPhone 7 is 138 grams. Just make sure there are no screen protectors / case on before weighing.

          Hope that helps.

          • @Rollyboyau: Further break down of NN982ZP/A

ZP is the region code where the phone was intended to be sold. ZP = Hong Kong / Macao.

There was a iPhone 7 repair program for a "No Service" Issue. This affected units manufactured between September 2016 and February 2018 and sold in Hong Kong and Macao (A1660). Apple fixed it for free. Might explain why your unit begins with "N".

Though I can't find anything with "N982" of the model number. Which I think indicates the colour and capacity (32GB, 128GB, 256GB)

            • @Rollyboyau: Thanks for the information.

The beginning N does indicate a apple replacement, not apple refurbished unit I think.

              And ZP is from HK/Macao/Singapore.

I used a tool to read all the components' serial number seems to be original.
Though people can also spoof those.

  • iPhone SE received is MP822B/A which apparently is a UK/Ireland model, the battery health is 100%. So looks like they replaced the battery in mine.

  • I ordered the iphone 6s from them. Packaged nice and phone looks really good no scratches or anything. Unfortunately the battery health is at 93% the battery seems shot. It went from 100% to 87% then dropped to 67% and after I turned the screen off for 15 minutes it went to 27% then 1%. No background syncing or anything. Just a bit of a dud I guess.

    • Which app did you use to test battery health?

      • Its just the built in one
Settings > Battery > Battery Health

  • Ordered an iPhone SE from them yesterday and received it today. I bought it from the eBay listing that had no condition listed. It was packaged nice, and surprisingly I couldn't spot any scratches/dents on the phone at all. It's basically in immaculate condition. The battery was flat so I'm just charging it up so I can test everything else.

  • Bought an iphone 7 plus on Wednesday evening and received today. Super fast shipping and phone is great quality (no markings at all on the body, perfect screen).

  • My iphone se has touch screen issue - random presses and not registering. Ffs.

  • Got my 7 today, its in immaculate condition cant fault it.

My guess cause it looks so perfect then screen must been replaced and back cover as its flawless.

Per my earlier question if they have replaced both front and back can I still rely on the ipx7 waterproof rating?

Also battery health says 84%, is that good or bad?

Bought a iPhone 8 256GB for about $460 (after coupon code and 10% discounted gift card). I then tried to cancel the order because I realised I bought the average condition iPhone. However, the seller didn't agree to cancel and proceed to send the phone to me. Picked it up from Post Office today and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the phone is. There is a tiny scratch on the screen but not visible when lit up. No scratch on the body or back. Battery health 89%.

Received iPhone 7 128gb today. External condition is as new, battery 83%, au model.

Hopefully Apple takes notice of the growing 2nd hand market and lowers their prices on older phones accordingly ($900 for a 3 year old phone is a bit rich).

  • I received iPhone 7 but have issues with speaker/microphone, they are now sending another one. The customer support is pretty good. If the new one is good, will keep it otherwise return it both of them.

    • Did you go through ebay to contact them or direct? I initiated an ebay return 2 days ago and still haven't heard back from them…

  • I replied to the feedback email.
