  • $100 of value for $8, how do you make money? Or are y'all just really bad at business?

    • No idea, i seen this on facebook.

Ordered one, thought I'd share the deal

      Y'all?

$8 shipping so $16 USD total, for me brings it to the point of "probably not worth it for a handful of random items from Alibaba"

    • Will update thanks

Has anyone ordered and received this before and can vouch for its quality and whether it’s worth it?

I got it as a gift for 6 months this year.

For the cost (approx $50/month I think) it's not terrible if you're an office worker.

Each month is essentially a tie and new pair of socks (guaranteed), sometimes a matching pocket square, plus assorted other things. In my time, excluding the socks/ties/pocket square, I got:
      - 3 pairs of sunglasses (Kmart quality but meh)
      - 2 lapel pins (I don't wear them)
      - 2 moisturisers (approx. 15ml each, neither are anything special)
      - cheap aviator style generic watch (don't wear as I have actual watches)
      - faux leather passport holder (I havea bellory travel wallet so I gave it to a friend)
      - canvas material luggage tag
      - bottle opener (decent one)

That's everything that comes to mind, I'm sure I've missed some.

In the end I chose not to continue. It was initially great for me as I had just transitioned from a non-office based role to a much more suit-tending office environment, as I quickly built up a solid tie and sock collection with no thought on my end.

I just couldn't justify the ongoing cost when all I really ended up using for the most part were the ties, socks and sometimes pocket squares.

      That's my 2 cents.

      • Very helpful comment. Thanks for the advice!

What office job are you working that requires pocket squares? Selling funeral insurance?

      • Mmm… seems like more than $8 worth of stuff (or even $26 AUD worth of stuff… maybe?) But comprised of things which are at a level below what you'd ever actually use yourself. From your list:

        • 3 pairs of sunglasses (Kmart quality but meh) never going to use
        • 2 lapel pins (I don't wear them) never going to use
        • 2 moisturisers (approx. 15ml each, neither are anything special) not worth any real money - these are at "free sample" sizing…
        • cheap aviator style generic watch (don't wear as I have actual watches) never going to use
        • faux leather passport holder (I havea bellory travel wallet so I gave it to a friend) never going to use
        • canvas material luggage tag never going to use
        • bottle opener (decent one) have far too many of already

I bought one recently with a half price coupon… So about $53. It came with:

      • A tie. Polyester but a nice design.
      • Nice patterned socks
      • A pocket square
      • Decent tweezers
      • A pocket square
      • An Elevon brand watch. It has an RRP of $119 and it's nice enough. Basic and small but with a nice leather strap.

All in all I was happy for the price but with the dollar the way it is I don't think I'll get one again at full price.

  • This is marketed pretty well, being on Facebook. After some thought, this is almost exactly what someone just out of uni might buy to get a very entry-level look at the kind of things - though certainly not the actual items - they might want to dress up with after uni.

And they can kind of mix-and-match the $5 level items and then go out and actually buy real life versions of them once they figure out what they like and don't like.
