Although Ben Simmons has pulled out, lots of NBA players will be suiting up including Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Matthew Dellavedova and Aron Baynes. Both teams have lots of talent so should be an entertaining game.

Sounds like you've done all the investigative work required. Please elaborate.
I believe they are referring to the (exorbitantly) expensive tickets/packages for the AUS vs USA games, being advertised with all the big name stars that subsequently pulled out.
Personally, I was a bit skeptical, and would have never paid that much anyway, so I have no skin in this game - but a lot of people (rightly or wrongly) are very pissed off about it!
(I believe holding it at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, a stupidly large arena for a basketball game, is also a bone of contention)

If they pulled out after advertising was undertaken you can't exactly be too critical. Likewise, it's not their fault if the US players want a break too…
As for venue, don't you think reactions would be far worse if they did it in something too small?
Not like countless other sporting events suffer from late withdrawals… Tennis can be even worse….

FWIW, I went to Games 4 & 7 of the WCF 2018 (the REAL nba finals that year!), and I'm pretty sure they cost me far less than similar seats to see the exhibition game in Melbourne (and had FAR MORE nba superstars in them! lol). :)
@caprimulgus: I haven't checked prices, been to 3 NBA games myself too, though tickets there vary wildly depending on who's playing, nevermind the seat….
But yeah not being critical of you, just trying to offer a potential counter to it.

Oh dear… The line up has just gotten worse with each passing week. A serious case of over-promising and under delivering. We didn't pay much for our family tickets (prolly going to watch ants play) and are still hopeful for an exciting night out, but really do feel for the families who have dropped big money on this.
The petition has gained heaps of traction, not that I reckon TEG are going to change their minds.
I bought a family pass for $150 for Saturday's game but now can't go. Any suggestions on best way to sell them? Will have to sell for a loss thinking $99?

Nobody should support this ‘event’ considering how they’ve ripped the Australia public off millions of dollars ..
