With this, it'll be my big break! Even though I have no experience in animation I'll give it a crack.

  • no xp support? doh

imagine those poor schmos who paid $4000 for this before coming across it for free…. :O

Indeed. It's this sort of thing that makes people feel piracy is a good option.

  • I assume this is no good for macs?

    • It only runs on Windows, no OSX support. Assuming you have the proper DX11 GPU you can run this within Windows.

i feel sorry for anyone who had actually bought it at the RRP price and then came to ozbargain ;)

    • I doubt anyone pays full price for this sort of software unless they're a company or pro in which case they claim it back on tax anyway.

Even when I was at uni the lecturer told us to get software by less than legal means

  • WOW, another program to try…
I might get my prologue animated yet. Thx a bunch

  • lol, $4000. And they wonder why people pirate…

    • +2

If you're a professional (not just a prohobbyist) then if they discover you've pirated the software (idk how lol) that could expose you to alot of trouble - just like with photoshop for graphics designers or microsoft office for big-time offices. But the small guys (coughcough*) get away with it just fine :P

      • I'd be pretty pissed if I payed $4000 for it.

Agreed. Piracy is becoming a viable and common thing nowadays in the consumer sector but businesses still need to be be very cautious and ensure that if they are using a software package regularly that they purchase the license or otherwise risk prosecution. When you're running a business the risk of liability is alot higher, same as the chances of getting caught. Ultimately, the cost of the software would translate to a tax deduction so it is not going to rip their heart out if they paid RRP.

    • It's not a huge amount of money for the market its aimed at.

That and people pirate $1 music tracks…In my opinion price is an excuse for piracy, not a reason

Time to get me a new GPU just so I can use this freebie :)
    But lol at the spec's, P4 + DX11 whou would've thought

Not sure if I'd ever use this but feels like I'd be insulting my fellow ozbargainites if I didn't download this..

Do you guys even understand what this software is?
It is NOT for 3D modelling
It is NOT for 3D animation
It is NOT for 3D texturing
It is NOT for 3D rendering*
It is ONLY real-time 3D environment viewing, similar to what a 3D engine in a computer game does.

it's to say you have a 4000 dollar piece of software

hmmm, sounds like bragging rights. Just don't mention it is now considered "free-ware" and keep your ego happy ;)
