truly curious - why would you buy one of these say over an a6000? the a6000 is almost a 1/3 of the size, more megapixel count, larger sensor.
i guess if you just want a large zoom range?
Correct, particularly for travel. For some, the convenience of the 24-600mm range in one reasonably sized package far outweighs a larger sensor/shallow depth of field. I forfeited a FF Canon and a handful of L lenses for this. Travel photo opportunities have increased significantly with the massive range.
Good price if it's a new camera. Two years ago I paid $1463 by stacking JB Hifi 5% off gift cards and Sony's $150 cashback offer. These cameras are great all rounders and seem to hold their value well.
