      • What benefit is buying the DJ gift card?
Can it then be used to buy other GCs?

        • +2

To buy products that are sold at DJs … To answer your second question, no, not even iTunes (which they used to sell pre-Dick Smith demise)

          • @kerfuffle: Do they not have iTunes GCs in DJs? I was hoping to use one of my credits for that.

            • +1

@BugsBunnyAUS: Not since Dick Smith went bust. You'll have to go to Myer

              • @kerfuffle: Ah shame. Thanks for the heads up. Plan is to get a CM from Myer. Maybe I'll just end up using one of the three offers - shocking!

    • I've usually split 50/50 between buying stuff right now vs buying gift cards for using later. Just depends on whether there's anything that I need/want which is on sale or that doesn't usually go on sale, like Apple stuff.

Also, my Netflix is paid through iTunes, so between this and Shop Small I've been picking up just enough iTunes credit to carry me through the year.

      • Which shop small vendor are you using to buy iTunes credit/cards from?

        • Nextra North Ryde (NSW)

    • is there a fee for Westfield gift cards?

      • +1

        $2.95 per card

  • Man none of my cards have the offers. Have to line up on Thursday and hopefully machine does not break down

    • +1

They do have spare machines and ipads, so you shouldn't have to worry

    • redundant comment

    • +1

They broke down in Melb but there were crews rebooting/repairing them during the night.

      • +1

Lol that's actually pretty funny that they broke down after being overloaded by ozbargainers :p happy I went around 5.30pm before the rush hit.

  • Today i used both my AMEX Explorer and Velocity Platinum cards at Myer.

I got an AMEX email for the Explorer card, thanking me for using the Vogue Fashion offer.
However, i did not get a similar email for my Velocity Plat card. (The offer has been saved in both cards)
Should i be worried ? Or should i just wait till the end of the week to see if the $20 has been credited to the Velocity Plat card ?

    • +1

If you've saved the offer before spending, I think you should be ok.

    • +1

Note that it can also take up to 90 days to receive the credit as per the T&Cs, however this is the exception rather than the norm.

I don't think anyone's received any credit yet; hopefully tomorrow for those who spent on Thursday

  • +1

Staff at Westfield is not only checking ID but also doing paypass on your card. That was extreme.

    • What do you mean by paypass?

      • +1

They keep your credit card after checking ID, and tap it for you without your intervention. You just look like a handicapped standing there and doing nothing.

        • Can you use Google pay or Apple pay?

        • It’s called great service! You just sit and relax!

    • +7

I guessed they have caught people doing the bait and switch so resulting in this.

    • At both concierge?

      • Happened on my first go at the Myer side Concierge. It was a young Asian guy. I think he was trying to help rather than stopping the switch. Anyone else managed to pay without "assistance"?

Hasn't happened at the other Concierge with my four attempts.

        • It happened at the non-Myer side over the weekend.

    • Can you use Google pay or Apple pay?

    • I just went to both Sydney concierge's and they just looked at my card and ID and then let me scan the card, so i guess you can pull the old 'switcheroo'.

      • +3

Yes. Successfully performed the 'switcheroo' yesterday.

    • They aren't allowed to take your credit card and tap for you. Security risk.

  • Anyone can confirm priceline is no longer on the list of merchants this year?

    Can't seem to find them

    • +2

Yes, because no one else can find them too

      • Thanks

  • Got my three credits for my spend on one of my cards on Thursday (DJs, Myer and Mecca)

Now to figure out what to use my other card on this coming Thursday apart from The Body Shop and DJs …

  • All credits received.

  • Weird I wasnt targeted.

    • They probably know you by now: "Oh, it's that Turd again with 10 cards!".

  • I didn't get the offer on my supplementary card… I only have 2!

  • Apologies if its already covered (I can't see it though), are both counters of Westfield Concierge in Sydney eligible for offers separately or have they combined it this year?

    • +4

Separate. Source: Got one from each and have received both credits from Amex.

    • Did you purchase the one underneath Myer/Town hall station or the one in Westfield Pitt St Mall?

  • I finally got my new card but can't see the offer to be saved. Can anyone else still see the spend $50 offer via their app etc? Or do you think they've hit the cap..

    • You'll have to go to the city on Thursday to save the offer via the kiosk. Not everyone got offered it via their app (and yes, we can still see it).

No way has the cap been reached, what with selected people getting it on their cards whereas others are forced to use the kiosks to take advantage of the offer

Oh wait, you're in Melbourne. You'll have to fly to Sydney if you want to save the offer on Thursday …

      • If only I could load via proxy ahahhaa or road trip to Sydney which is not worth the drive just for this lol

        • +2

IF you have 20 amexes - then its worth it lol

          • @bbqwer: :o but why would someone be bothered to have so many!! All the deals… too much shopping?! heh

        • +2

If you're that desperate, you can give someone who's in Sydney your Amex details to save to Google/Apple/Samsung Pay and then use the kiosks to save the offer if that's what you meant by proxy …

        • Hehe i just assumed they would still offer it via the 'offers' until the promo ended. I did go to the Melb event but didn't have my card yet, just applied way too late

My Sydney friend can't get out of the house due to a little bubba so it's ok not gonna stress people out or give out my details to randoms (thanks for the offer tho XD)

          • +1

@blueyez: They did offer it via the offers. To selected people. Those who weren't selected and wanted to use the offer are forced to actually attend the event on their respective nights to use the kiosks to save the offer.

  • Are the westfield gift card counters in Sydney open on weekends? on google it says only mon-fri 9-5 but wanted to double check

    • +4

Yes; it's open during shopping centre hours

  • Apologies if this has been asked before.

Will I receive the cashback if I use Google Pay?

I have read that Apple Pay works.

    • Yes, assuming that you saved the offer to your Amex that's in Google Pay

      • +1

Thanks just tested this and it works!

  • +1

Coles-Myer GC are on Level 5 (Click & Collect) - Myer Sydney

    • They are actually on most of the levels, some have them hidden behind the counter.

But level 5 and 4 are both quiet so staff is usually chill.

    • Thanks for this. Will try check it out sometime today. Did you go yesterday to stock up?
Also, earlier this week I spent $60 without realising this offer was on - has anyone tried calling Amex up and getting them to honour it anyway?
I know it was Noob mistake, just missed the original post of this thread on Ozbargain …. ai..

      • As in you didn't save the offer? It's been open for a week now. Unless you didn't have it saved because it wasn't offered to you …

        • I didnt save the offer because I dont usually log into AMEX unless i see something good on ozbargain worth using it for. I've saved it now though… which somehow i missed the notice for this yearly event…

          • @sagrules: Rookie error; always check your Amex account (usually on a Tuesday, but Vogue Amex offers always start registrations on the Thursday before the offer actually starts)

  • Apologies if this has been answered already. Is there a manual link? Offer not appearing in 1 of my Amex cards. Thanks

    • No. You'll have to go to the kiosk tomorrow to save the offer.

  • Just wondering if Sydney lounge is worth checking ?

Also, are Myer still selling Google Play gift cards ?

    • Also interested to know if Sydney lounge is worth checking

    • Also, are Myer still selling Google Play gift cards ?

      They were a week ago.

    • +3

Just saw the Google Play gift cards at the click and collect counter on level 5.

  • Went to the Westfield counter infront of Sheike this morning. The lady was checking ID.

    • +1

      Did you use Apple Pay?

      • No I didn’t. Great idea! I’ll remember this for next year

  • Does it matter if i buy 3 x 50 Coles/Myer GCrds at the same Myer store?

Doesn't say how many max transactions per store anywhere.

    • +2

Offer valid once per participating Vogue American Express Fashion's Night Out ("VAEFNO") retailer location, at up to three participating VAEFNO retailer locations

It's literally written in bold in the OP …

      • oh damn, thanks for the reply.

    • only $50 each for participating retailers upto 3 times.

  • Anyone working in sydney city know if the kiosks are there yet?

    • +1

Yes tgey are up n running. Registered my 5 cards about half an hour ago.

    • -2

Yes they are there, only one actually asked for ID

      • The one that you need to use to save the offer to your Amex if you don’t already have the offer saved …

Edit: the original comment asked what kiosk was being discussed … And no they’re not asking for ID at the kiosk so no idea what sagrules is now referring to.

      • They wanted ID to tap and save offer?

        • +1

          Nope. Its self serve

      • I thought you were talking about the ones to purchase Westfield Gift cards. No ID check at kiosk. Sorry!

  • Thanks Op. $50 CMG+ $50 DJG + $50 WFG cards are bought and received the confirmation mail from Amex.

  • Just wondering how Amex makes money out of this promo. Are all participating retailers also contributing in $20 cashback?

    • I believe its part of their marketing expense to promote AMEX Credit cards to the general public. I think it is working very well as I saw a person bring 14 cards to purchase gift cards. lol

  • +2

Kiosks are up and running in Syd pitt st mall two on north side of tent. One on south side. Expect big queues later. Already one guy there swiping his 20 cards. Haha

    • Thanks for the update. Hey do you just need to swipe the card and that’s it registered? Or do you need to type your email address or whatever on the screen?

      Thanks

      • +2

Just need to tap the card and accept T&C and voila offer get saved to your card. Took me 2 mins to do 5 cards

    • +1

Well that was a bust. My metal cards didnt work

      • +1

you can also enter card number manually. One of the card did not work on tapping so i did it by manually entering the number and it registered successfully.

        • You can scan your Apple Pay if you have the amex saved, as i stopped carrying my physical cards ages ago

        • can you tell me where you can enter the number manually?

          • @pandadee: In front of everyone. It is a iPad set up as a vertical screen. You can opt to type number In manually. Or hold your card to the screen to be scanned. Once it scans all the numbers show as XXXXs except the last 4 digits. Not sure what shows if you choose to type in manually. Did not want to try as people all around the stand tonight

  • sorry if i missed it -are the two westfield concierge treated as separate locations - i.e can i get 2x $20 credit on the same card?
