  • I think the coupon expires 22/08/19

    Oh my

  • +1

This one says out of stock

    • +1

Looks like they have updated Stock - More than 10 available now

      • Now all gone again. Flying off the shelves.

  • If i'm just using this for gaming, is this really $75 better than Ryzen 2600? That's a 37% increase.

    • +3

Depends what games you play and what improvements you value

      • +1

those 0.1% lows….i think i need to jump ship. Thanks for the link.

    • -1

      YES. Future proof.

  • are the new Ryzen CPUs generally considered better than Intel these days (at similar price points)? What would the Intel equivalent for this be?

    • +2

Workloads yes, gaming intel is still superior but price points don't match.

      • +1

It’s more that Intel don’t have anything at this price point.

For gaming the 9400F is similar/very slightly worse but $100 cheaper while the 9600K is better but $100 more expensive.

    • -1

the i5-9400f seems like great value right now but I can't comment on the rest of their lineup

    • The Intel equivalent is the i7-8700k (not at the same pricepoint at all)

  • +1

The 3700Xs must be few and far between at the moment?

    • +1

From what I can tell, yes unfortunately. I've been trying to find one unsuccessfully.

    • +2

Most Ebay retailers are saying mid next week they are expecting 3700x stock. Fingers crossed!

    • Grabbed one from Computer Alliance for $459 using the Peach code last week.

  • +1

    Does shallotbay have an acn?

  • just got the 2200g from computer alliance for $109… differences between 2200g and 3200g are negligible.

    • +2

That's because 3200g doesn't use the new processors.

      • It's using the previous gen… But I thought the 2200g used the previous-previous (original zen) architecture?

        • 2200G is Zen same as Ryzen 1600
          3200G is Zen+ same as Ryzen 2600
4200G will be Zen 2 same as Ryzen 3600

  • All gone already

  • Great deal pair this with a 5700XT and you've got a winning combination

    • +1

Just make sure not to buy a blower fan model

      • Why? They're not that bad. Can easily fix with washers. But AMD have just stated that normal operational temperature is 110degrees.

        • +2

          The temps.

If you have been following GPU's long enough I'm sure you would have heard that bull before

"Normal operating temperature" of the GPU ram and the board components doesn't change when a manufacturer decides to defend their bad design

Sapphire have just released an aftermarket fan design that is 20 C cooler

          https://youtu.be/FQJCm7bnOfU

        • If you can pay $10 for a 20C+ temperature & noise reduction it's worth it.

        • +1

Do you expect them to admit the fact that their blower style coolers are utter trash? I hope no one buys the blower model for their own sake especially when that one sapphire model is rumoured to be $10usd more which with the aussie tax should be no more than $50.

  • Didn't get one of these but got one under the Ninja. Thanks for the post OP. I needed this.

  • I tried to get one of these a few weeks ago - couldn't find one anywhere so had to go for the 3600X

  • damn it. i just bought one of these the other day for $315 :(

  • Cheers OP, been waiting for a decently priced 3600!

  • Hi there, thank you for the link. I'll try ninja buy.
Bit of a n00b question but I'm not really that knowledgeable about all the different RAM/Mobo combos that are compatible with the new Ryzen 3's. I'm looking for a machine around $1200 maximum, that is solid for a few years to come and can handle most games at a decent level, but also doing video editing / photo editing. I've settled on the 3600 for the CPU, and 16GB Ram seems a good amount.

Can anyone recommend a good RAM / MOBO combo for this CPU? I have heard you need to be careful with which mobo you select for this CPU (e.g heard some compatability issues exist with B450 Tomahawk). Many thanks.
