Does the chair have free shipping as well? Those are usually fairly expensive to ship.

    • +1

thats a very good point, i dont see details on that on their site

    • Hmmmm, well, nothing in the t&c’s mentions cost of delivery.
It does say “get the MSI gaming gear for free” so I assume delivered.

  • +1

That’s either a MASSIVE screen or a tiny chair in that pic….

    • +1

      maybe a miniature chair? :)

      • +3

Maybe it’s just really far in the background

        • +2

Bahaha yeah this is def the most plausible amusing answer!

    • +1

Imagine being sent a 8” chair

      • +1

Especially if you asked the genie for a twelve inch pianist.
        Sorry, wrong joke

  • Code does not work.

    • Do you have eBay Plus?

  • +1

Pretty sweet deal if they give you that chair. Does have a disclaimer though that pics are for illustrative purposes and actual items may differ.

    • Yeah there’s a disclaimer though they also said RRP is $350USD so you’ll get a good chair anyway

      • Yeah it is a freesync monitor, wonder if it is supported by Nvidia's cards…

        • Apparently it is G-Sync compatible

          • @FireRunner: Yeah so I read. MSI have done testing.
Reddit users have reported issues when enabling G-Sync with brightness flickering and some other issues.

As such anyone getting this hoping that it will be a cheaper alternative and will work with G-Sync enabled, please do some more research. I would personally stay away as I have an RTX 2080. Anyone with a Navi card, then this is a fantastic deal.

          • @FireRunner: Only for 1000 series and up. Nvidia won’t let 980 ti users and lower have it.

        • It is I'm using it with a 1080 no problems, had to tweak it as out of the box it was pretty bad but there's a couple YouTube calibration guides

          • @solidussnake: Is that this specific model? Did you buy it for this promo also?

            • +1

@FireRunner: Yeah I purchased it on the 22/7 Purchased mainly because I needed a new chair and found it works with G-Sync :) So a win win for both products

              • @solidussnake: Haha, was looking for a gaming chair too when I found this,
How long did CA take to deliver and has your claim been approved yet?

                • +1

@FireRunner: Ordered it that night and on day two it arrived, Mines still in review which sucks !

                  • @solidussnake: Cheers, CA is awesome with their service.
Hope MSI isn’t going to make it difficult to redeem

                    • +1

@FireRunner: Yeah I used to work there many many years ago, I called up a mate that works there and they said their staff price was $745 so I jumped at the chance to get it for $700 through their ebay store instead lol.

It sounds like they process all the promotions internationally then directly ship the chair so a slow and painful type of system sigh !

          • +2

@solidussnake: This is good to hear. I jumped on the Acer 34P. Didnt really need the chair.

  • +1

This is excellent value, here's the chair from PCCG if anyone's interested https://www.pccasegear.com/products/45602

    • +1

The chair looks pretty average though, pretty sure MSI didn't just contracted mass producers of gaming chairs and stuck their label on it.

  • +2

Pretty tight redemption deadline - you need to wait for CA to ship it out and register the serial number by the 26th August.

    Good deal though.

    • I agree it's tight but from previous experience, CA is great with shipping.
I think you'll be safe to buy it and it should arrive by the end of the week, leaving you the weekend to complete the registration and redemption form.
If you're in QLD (the same state as CA), I assume you'd be really safe. I guess in the worst case you make use of eBay Plus free returns.

      • ah, forgot about the free return! i'm convinced now lol…

      • Do they date invoice as payment date?

        • Should be, cant see why not as that is when you have paid it

  • if it takes 2 months you wont get the chair

  • ELIGIBLE MODEL:
Buy MSI specific GAMING MONITOR models and install MSI Gaming OSD, get Gaming Chair for free.

  • where does it say 26th of Aug, I only see "Promotion Period: 1st July - 18th August 2019"

    • It’s under the terms and conditions

      • +1

        Ok cool :)

  • Would the chair have resell value?

    • probably not $300, when officeworks has similar for $100

      • Really? Got a link to a that?

          • +2

@asa79: They really aren't remotely similar other than basic shape.
This MSI one has thicker padding, bigger seat in general, wider armrests, a 15kg heavier wight limit, back and neck cushion support (moveable/removeable), higher quality caster wheels, metal base (5 leg part), more tilt and moveability in back/armrests etc, plus seemingly quite a few more differences in quality.

That officeworks one is just a different shaped generic office chair. This MSI one has a ton of nice useability, quality and comfort improvements/features. Is it worth $400? almost certainly not, but its very far away from that ripoff $150 officeworks one.

    • +1

I'd think maybe $250? going by what else you can buy around. probably $200 at least.
Which makes the monitor the same cost as the exact same spec kogan one, with the bonus of having MSI name and 3 year warranty.
      Im tempted to do similar.

Heres my settings if it helps others with the same issue as me (Had a weird green tinge when scrolling through webpages and in game.

    (On the Monitor Settings)
    Menu > Image :
    Gamma 2.2
    Color Temp > Customization > R 52 G 48 B44
    Contrast 48
    Brightness 90

    Menu > Game
    Mode User
    DCR Off
    Freesync On
    Aspect Ratio 21.9
    Crosshair Off
    Response Time On

    Nvidia Settings
    G-Sync On
    Digital Vibrance 58%

Also when In any game turn off G-Sync (in game settings) as Freesync takes over

    • I'll give your settings a try.
I found the green tinge disappeared when I turned off response time. Smearing on anything other than the UFO test seemed more or less the same so I've just left it off

      • Mine went away when I changed all the color temps manually weird hey ! great value monitor just needs a fair bit of tweaking lol

  • Didn't anyone grab this last time it was available?

  • Do these guys let you click and collect?

    • Nope

  • How do you get your invoice number from the ebay transaction for the MSI site?

    • CA sends you an invoice

      • I never got an invoice emailed to me from last lot of ebay purchases from computer alliance

        • +1

They send a physical one with the item

    • I email CA asking the same question and the following was their response.

"use our website to view and download any of your invoices and serial numbers. Just head to our website (easy to find on google) and run through the "forgot password" procedure using the email address you provided with your eBay order to gain access to the account.

Your invoice copy should be made available roughly 1-2 (business) days after your order is delivered."

I ended up calling them and they sentbathe invoice via email which was much easier.

      • Edit: spoke too soon, they are in there

  • +2

Bit the bullet and bought, reckons will received it by next friday at latest. Shame they dont offer click and collect

    • i wonder if you could talk MSI into still sending a chair because you purchased it during promotional period and it will show that on the invoice?

      • Supposedly its purchased before the 18th and i have until the 26th to lodge it

Have paypal receipt showing date so that should be enough if MSI have any issues

  • +1

I rang computer alliance and they doing up all the invoices today with serial numbers of what is in the warehouse, so that will be online in a day or two

  • +2

Invoices and serial numbers have been uploaded on website, but promo needs you to take a photo of the barcode

  • +2

Just an fyi for people waiting to get the chair, Mines still in review on 22 July :

Yes, we've received your application and it is currently under review.

Please be advised that verification may take 14~21 business days. Bundle item will be delivered after the event ends. It may take up to 28 days once approved. A notification will be sent to your registered email address once there is an update.

Going to be a very long wait sigh

    • Do you have to install the MSI Gaming OSD software to redeem the chair?

      • +1

Nope it's not compatible with that monitor lol

        • +1

          Cheers mate
