  • is it unbranded?

    • +1

since it is dual sim model, IMO it is unbranded.

      • +2

got confirmation through eBay message that it is unbranded.

  • +6

I think i personally prefer this over the new note 10.

    • +3

The new Note10 is a downgrade:
      - less battery
      - less resolution
      - no microSD slot
      - no DualSIM slot
      - no Headphone Jack
      - no FM Radio
      - basically the same performance (QSD 845 vs Exynos 9825)
…with only moderate improvements to display, body, camera, and speakers.

There's the Note10+ the more expensive model, but that's a downgrade from the S10+ in my eyes.
If we see lacklustre sales of the Note10/Note10+ then maybe next year for the S11 and Note11 we will get to keep our features instead of getting a watered-down phone that's trying to imitate the iPhone.

      • +1

There's the Note10+ the more expensive model

It’s not a “more expensive version”, it’s the direct successor to the Note 9.

The Note 10 is the lite, watered down version just like the S10e to the S10 and the iPhone XR to the iPhone XS.

watered-down phone that's trying to imitate the iPhone.

Every specification and feature of the Note 10+ has been improved. The only downgrade is the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack which was expected and is completely in line with the current industry standard.

        • +3

Not sure why you are being downvoted for stating objective facts. Everyone seems to be upset about the models, pricing and removal of the headphone jack but that doesn't change the facts.

Objectively the Note 10+ is better than the S10+.

          Exynos 9820 (8nm) vs 9825 (7nm)
          UFS 2.0 vs 3.0
          4100mAh vs 4300mAh
15 watt fast charging vs 45 watt
          USB PD 2.0 vs 3.0
          No pen vs pen
          Upgraded DeX

Obviously if a headphone jack is a requirement for you then the Note 10 series is going to be worse for you, however feature and specification wise you cannot argue that the Note 10+ is worse than the S10+.

There are too many unsubstantiated polarising claims when it comes to mobiles.

          • @tof: get out of here with your logic and facts!

seriously aside from the price (its still cheaper than an iphone equivalent with more features, and dont quote CPU benchmarks because the average joe whinger wont even notice the difference) and the headphone jack which is easily solveable with a cheap adpater attached to your heaphones permanently, theres nothing wrong with it

      • Since when does the note 9 have fm radio?

  • Probably will get this second hand, later when owner upgrade to 10

    • +1

Any1 buying this ll update to Note 11 only :)

    • Yeah I bought that deal on Monday…doh, $100 out of pocket, ozbargain fail…i'll hand in my membership card =/

  • ..excuse my ignorance, but the confirmation of 24mth warranty means its an Australian version right??

Also.. excuse my ignorance one more time, but what does 'Unbranded' mean..?? and is it good or bad???
    cheers
    steve

      1. It is Australian Stock. If it wasn't, they would likely be offering 12 months warranty.
      2. Unbranded means there is no bloatware from carriers like Vodafone, Optus, Telstra installed on the phone. So you have a clean phone with not much preinstalled stuff and no optus logo etc. everytime you turn your phone on.

Thanks mate!! hopefully it helped some others to ahhah. Looks like a great price for the 512gb. What you guys reckon.. is it really worth getting the 512 over the default 128 (or whatever it is) and hopefully waiting for the price to go even lower to around 800ish??
Im actually weighing up to get between this note9, or the oneplus 7 pro (better camera, but dearer and not waterproof) vs. the cheaper galaxy a70 (has slightly lower end processer and no 60fps at 4k). Would the note9 still be the best overall phone??

    • +2

Depends if you need an extra 384GB of onboard storage.
A lot of people don't need that much and can usually get by with a cheaper alternative using an SD card for their media/photos.

I think the Oneplus7 Pro is a better buy for most people, but not for me.
Headphone jack, IP68 rating are useful for my everyday and being able to quickly take notes/sketches with measurements with the S Pen is a such a nice QOL to have.

    • Also don't forget the 128Gb gets 6GB of RAM and the 512GB gets 8GB if that's something that's important to you

      • And the 128GB is not dual SIM

        • Note 9 128 GB also has a dual sim.

          • @Smokey010: But not AU stock I think

            • @w02m08w: Yeah it is as long as it's not network branded. I got mine from JB Hi-fi and it's a 100% dual SIM.

              • @Smokey010: I stand corrected then. When I got my 512 when the Note 9 was just released, the 128 was only single SIM. Thanks…

  • Dex feature is upgraded versio. in note 10, i am not sure update will come for note 9 in near future or not?

  • +1

This is actually tempting, although I think it might be too big for me.
Although, kinda hanging out for the Pixel 4. Currently got a S7 Edge, first curved screen I've owned and after a few years of having it, I still don't like the curved screen. Miss having my glass screen protector :*(

  • +2

S7 Edge just died today and researching for a new one. Is this still worth buying in mid 2019?

    • +1

Mines working the same as when I got it 12 months ago - seems to be just fine!

    • +3

You ask "still worth buying in mid 2019?" as though the phone was released 3 years ago. Easily one of the best phones on the market and I've had it in the 128gb since launch last year… no problems whatsoever. Hard to go back to anything else after being a Note user for 3 years.

    • Absolutely

    • Sold!

  • +1

Getting the Galaxy S10+ would be definitely a better option at this price point ($900)

    • +4

Where are you able to get genuine AU stock S10+ for $900?

  • Seems gone

  • Copper colour still available.

  • Note 9 is the best phone in the world right now.

    • +1

For the Pen features, price right now, and non-stripped down 'no plus' versions, yes it quite possibly is.

  • Thanks for posting this, it was exactly what I was after :)

  • 128GB Black for $799 if you don't want Copper or the extra space: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-9-Dual-Sim-N…

    • Sorry grey import.
