Ovaltine and Ovalteenies $5 Cashback

360

Hi All

I just found this while shopping today at Coles - all Ovaltine products are labelled with a bright green $5 Cashback sticker!! I also checked for Ovalteenies and bought some of those too at Woolworths and they also had the $5 cashback sticker on them too. Also you go into the draw to win $100 once you have claimed your cashback.

These products are also on sale at Coles this week retailing at less than $5!!

LOL is that mean unlimited for SA?

      • yes i wanna know too…

Well if it is, I hope your forced to produce a "hand drawn facsimile" of an Ovaltine Bottle!

You south Australians and your special conditions!!!!!

You south Australians and your special conditions!!!!!

It's not the conditions that are special!!

        • Hooohaaaa…lucky us! :D

Max 1 claim per household (excluding SA).
Max 2 entries per household per day.

  • I had no idea they still made this…

  • Ovalteenies are great.

  • ^Offer available on specially marked Ovaltine products only. Limited to the first 5,400 eligible entrants.

    • +1

Specially Marked means that it needs to have the promotional sticker on the product. Each sticker has a unique code that you use to redeem your $5!

  • I love Ovalteenies. Might go get a packet if they're on sale and if I can get a cashback!

  • 23.A random electronic draw will be conducted.. that means not on a first-come first-serve basis?

    • +1

      that's for the $100 prize.

  • Yes.. love Ovalteenies! Free is even better!!

So what's the deal with Ovaltine? The jar is round…the mug is round…it should be called 'Round-tine'

    • +2

      Seinfeld?

    • I know it's a Seinfield reference, but technically an oval is still round…
To be pedantic, it should be circletine :P

        Let's get real.

        Ellipsetine :)

Actually I thought too it was because it once came in oval cross section tins, but I just looked it up in Wikipedia. Learn something new everyday.

Ovomaltine was exported to Britain in 1909; it was a misspelling in the trademark registration that led to the name being shortened to Ovaltine in English-speaking markets.

do you think coles would be pissed if you bought it, claimed the cashback and then returned it unopened after you got your cashback?

    • y dont u say just peel off all the labels on the shelf and mark them down…kinda unethical..lol

      • ah, i didn't realise that the code was on the pack of the peel-off label.

they send a cheque anyways so you need to use real names to cash it.

  • From their T&Cs -
"32. Multiple entries are accepted subject to a maximum of two (2) Eligible Entries per household on any given day throughout the Promotion Period."

Their T&C's seem all over the place, unless the above only applies to South Australians!?

  • Ovalteenies still exist??? Where? Where? I haven't seen them in literally YEARS.

    • i just found out on the way home - next to the milo :)

    • I usually find them in the fun-size confectionary section.

    • I used to love Ovalteenies as a kid, but boy do they ever stick to your teeth!

  • sadly they dont show how many claims left…i think it goes very quickly once being posted here..

I just purchased Ovaltine Energy Drink 350g and it scanned at $3.45 at Woolworths Marden (SA), however the shelf price was $4.68.

So I got a free thingy of Ovaltine plus $1.55 :)

      • cost me $4.45 at coles :(

        • Addendum:

Yes, it seems that all of the above ovaltine drinks are on special this week at woolies, less approx 25% the above prices.

  • I love Ovomaltine, have to call my -Boss-

  • Surely if it's limitted to the first 5400 entries they are limited to producing 5400 stickers?
Would it not be deemed as bait advertising if they made 54000 cash back products but only paid 5400?

    • Not really.. These offers work on the idea that it's not 100% return. If 100% of people who bought the valid products sent in for the cashback, it'd be over incredibly quick. A heap of people never bother, forget, etc.

  • I'm off to Woolies tomorrow to get some Ovaltine/Ovalteenies!! Thanks OP! :)

  • I wonder will I still get cashback if I get it this weekend and post it on Monday

  • Omg, I love ovalteenies!!!

  • These are the best!
    Loved them during primary school

  • Neither of my Coles or Woolies had products with stickers. Coles only stocked one line, bigger Woolworths only had three lines. Neither had Ovalteenies (I can't remember the last time they were even advertised so I doubt anyone under 25 would even know about them).

  • Thanks, great first post.

  • Anyone received their cashback yet?

  • Not as yet. Ovaltine is yummy though on a cold winters night!

  • i got my cheque today.

    • I got mine too! :)
