  • What's going on with the ryobi stuff with discounts what about they do some ozito been eyeing up with newer trimmer from ozito but just too pricey if only they sell it as skin only.

    • +1

Seems to be related to 40% off Bosch green stuff at Mitre 10. Bunnings have price matched equivalent Ryobi gear down to the cent.

Ozito stuff goes on sale more often. Usually when Aldi have some battery gear.

      • Hopefully that 40% off Bosch green at Mitre 10 becomes a regular sale as I have no cashflow this month!

I find this much better than other blowers because it feels so light… It's like using a broom.

    • +11

I use a broom because I don't have to charge it.

      • +4

The broom requires a lot more effort and time

        • +11

Same with cooking rice in a saucepan ;)

          • -4

@ganymede: Not if you do it right.

            • +1

@jv: Same can be said for the broom… ;)

      • +2

sounds a good way to travel when the roads are clogged

    • I have the jet version and that is great

  • I have a Ozito 2400W Electric Blower that i got for $50 ages ago and it's complete crap, how would this compare?
Obviously it's much smaller but would it be more powerful? Or is my only home a petrol model…

    • +2

Not sure about the Ozito one you bought, but I bought this one yesterday and tried it out - goes pretty well and has pretty good battery life. It won't compete with a petrol one fully, but it gets pretty close and is a lot easier to start.

      • Might have to get it, if its crap i could probably sell it for $100 anyway haha

        • Ive had this for couple years. It aint no petrol unit for power, but it goes well. Very light and suitable for my needs. If you on farm or acreage perhaps not - but normal residential needs should be fine.

          was $90 then - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228660#comment

I have this blower and my neighbour has a Ozito. This one does out blow theirs but I'm not sure if switching brands would be worth it.

I also bought an extra 5 AH battery when I got this blower. They are about 18 months old and used probably once a fortnight for about half an hour. One of the batteries is already dead. It works full force for a few mins then nothing. Leave it for half an hour and you get another few mins of full force and so on.

I think Ryobi does the job but just cheaply built or of low quality. A few years ago I bought a Ryobi cordless drill and it also died after a fairly short time being only used occasionally around the home.

I won't neg as you get what you pay for… so just leave it at that.

I've since bought a few other things that use the battery but now kinda wish I had of chosen a different brand.

      • +1

You do know that the batteries come with a 3 year warranty and extended to 6 years if registered (I think). Just take the battery or blower back to Bunnings to swap it for a brand new one.

I’ve had this blower battery combo for about 3 years and it’s still going strong and battery holds well.

        • +4

Just the three year warranty on batteries unfortunately - https://www.ryobi.com.au/support/warranties - One exception to this would be if the tool purchased as part of a kit failed, this would have a 6 year warranty and all items need to be returned. I found this out when my blower failed thinking they wouldn't want a 2 year old battery back - Nope, got a new battery, charger and warranty started all over again.

I have a Ozito 2400W Electric Blower that i got for $50 ages ago and it's complete crap, how would this compare?

This one has a much smaller nozzel i think. So that increases the pressure that comes out…

I'd call this an electric sweeper than a blower. You hold it close to the ground and it sweeps away all leaves and debris.

I think it's great and I'd never go back to a large blower…

Only issue for me is that I only have 1 x 5ah battery and it lasts about 10 mins. So i use my 2.5 and 2.0 batteries to finish off as I have a lot of area around the house to sweep after mowing.

    • Ive had this model for 2+ years now, use it nearly every day for work, with a 2.5aH battery. I thinks its great. Im actually going to buy this as a backup but mainly for the 5aH battery

  • +6

Considering the battery and charger is still $149 at Bunnings this a bargain. Sell the skin if you don;t need it for $40 + and you can essentially get the battery etc. for half price. cheers OP.

  • +1

245kmh is a bit slow imo. Also it doesn't say what cfm its rated at. Moving water off cars you need both high air speed and cfm. I have the Makita one, 335km/h wind speed and 4.4m³/min. Best buy ever.

On a side not, my mate uses his dog hair blower which also works very well.

    • You can increase the air speed by blocking off the outlet.

    • ". Moving water off cars you need both high air speed and cfm. I have the Makita one, 335km/h wind speed and 4.4m³/min. Best buy ever."

Have you got a link? Wiping off the car takes too much time.

Some people say get a workshop blower? (looks like a miniature leaf blower?)

    • I use it for drying my wheels and around trims and it's fine. All other water I sheet off the panels.
But if you only want it for that purpose, their jet blower would probably be better as it does 200km/h but a huge 425CFM or 12.2 cubic meters.
      https://www.ryobi.com.au/outdoor/products/details/18v-one-br…

That said, it's also likely to be a lot heavier than this one.

  • +3

Get in quick with this one peeps. Heard tool shop saying this price is unbelievable with battery.

  • Bunnings sell the battery alone for $149 so a decent deal if you just need a name brand battery too. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-5-0ah-lithium-high…

    • They also sell 2x 5amp batteries for 199 … so there is still clearly good margin with each one valued at $99.

  • How’s the quantum mechanism in this

  • Great price for the kit, even though this is $18 more than the last time it was discounted this much, it's still a great price - thanks OP!

  • +1

Got this for $89 last time. Love it. No hassle with extension cords. Easy to take up the roof to clean the gutters too.

  • Might get it just for the battery so I can start building up my Ryobi gear.

  • I will buy it for battery itself.

  • Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket batteries for the Ryobi One Plus tools?

I've been eyeing off the ones from Power Aussie for a while now. Has anyone bought from them?
    https://www.poweraussie.com/search?type=product&q=ryobi%20on…

    • +1

Yep, bought one of these a few months ago, still going strong. I havent directly compared the runtime, but my 6ah lasts quite a long time still and the quality is not bad for 50 bucks. The battery indicator does stuff up a bit though, probably the only issue

      • Where did you buy your 6.0 from? I've had 2 x 5.0 fail within 6mths of each other and need new ones. Tossing up getting this deal and selling the blower skin only, or getting replica batteries.

    • +1

I bought 2 fake ryobi batteries from ebay the same as your link, both stuffed up within 2 weeks and i got a refund. The fake 2aH was about 100gms lighter than my ryobi 1.5aH.

    • +1

bought two 3Ah about 3 years ago from an Oz seller on ebay both still go like new. Easier to get then the Ozito ones.

  • +4

    Purchased.
    This deal blew me away.

  • Thanks, just what i needed …

  • Ripper deal!

  • Hoxton Park store (NSW) has 80 + in stock

Offer ends on Sunday I was told

  • Just called and paid for the last one instore (Armidale NSW) Thanks OP

  • Ordered Online… still at work. Hopefully, pick it up tomorrow morning

    • How do you order online?

      • NM, looks like it’s just down south only.

  • still waiting for the pressure cleaners to go on sale

  • +2

need a blower Vac though ! damn

  • Plenty in stock @ Caroline Springs, Melbourne

  • +1

Selling like hotcakes at Oakleigh South. Only about 5 left. Young girl at tool shop couldn't believe how many online orders she was getting haha.

    • +1

Good thing I did a click and collect for Oakleigh in that case!

      • Haha. Yours must have been one of the ones she was grabbing and saying "OMG there's another 2!".

        Classic.

  • Okay to dry your car with it? (serious question!! touchless drying is a thing)

    • I was just thinking this and I think should be ok just look funny cause it would be quite big. Professionally they use air hose to get into the tight areas but still towel dry.

    • Yes it works. I bought the Ozito one before but not as strong and has less battery life to this Ryobi. I returned the Ozito and just for this one.

    • +2

Yes but won't work as well as a purpose built detailer dryer (Metrovac, BIGBOI) and certainly has glaring disadvantages to them but it does an okay job. I use it blow to get all the water out all the cracks and crevices (mirrors, fuel flap, tail lights, grilles etc) . If you are just using microfibre to dry adding this will do a great job. By itself, not so much. It takes too long by itself and is too awarkward to use for the whole car. Hand held car dryers or a pet dryer are much better options for whole car drying

  • +1

Why do I want this when I already have a huge ozito corded blower.

Someone please justify this so i can buy it without feeling like it's a waste of $100

    • free yourself of cords

    • This is so much better. Cut your cord and consider yourself reborn.

  • Stoked! I have Makita gear. Means when I need a non essential tool I can buy the ryobi. Before that I was getting the ozito corded like a pleb. Thinking of getting the jigsaw skin… 50 bucks, not bhed.

  • Just got one. Like 10 available at Robina, Gold Coast.

  • Plenty in stock in hoppers crossing too, just picked one up. Thanks OP

  • Just got one to use for car drying. Lots of stock in Rockdale.

    this deal blows.

  • heaps of stock around Newcastle
    thanks OP

  • Thanks OP. Bought one from Bunnings Mentone.

  • Great dealb, thanks pp.

  • Just brought for battery and spare blower

  • +1

How much is the skin only normally? Is the current $51 also discounted or is that the standard price?

  • Thanks OP ,Ordered one for c&c .

  • How long can the battery last for single operation?

  • Dozens of them left at Arundel Qld. They are still marked at $199 but scan at $107

  • Multiple Ryobi stands at Bunnings Joondalup with the blower advertised at $107
    Plenty of stock available.

Ryobi guy just walked past me in another isle and he even commented on the price and the battery cost normally. He can’t believe it either.

  • I bought one of these a few months back, comes in very handy after mowing the lawns. It's not very powerful but it's fine for light stuff like lawn clippings and a small amount of leaves. You won't be blowing water off cars or doing huge amounts of work with it, I have a plug in one for that kinda stuff.

  • Thanks OP, picked one up in West Gosford. Also got a Ryobi hedge cutter discounted to $83 from $149, so can use the battery for both. Happy days!

  • Absolutley truck loads of these and other skins at Bunnings Coburg (VIC)

  • Grabbed the skin only and then found out my 5amp battery was dead.

Shows as fully charged but doesn't provide any power.

Probably should have bought the full kit.

Thankfully I also have a 2.5amp battery that worked.

Gave the shed a quick clean (blow) out and really happy with how this works.

  • Went to pick up my click and collect at Oakleigh (VIC) and there was a separate pallet of these with about 50 units on the left hand side going towards the garden centre.

  • In another post it says the 4.0Ah battery + fast charge is on sale too at $83.
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-4-0ah-battery-and-…

Sounds like this package is a lot better (I assume it's not a fast charger though)? How much price difference between a fast charger and a normal one?

    • +1

it comes with a fast charger :)

  • Thanks for the deal OP, found out the Pole Pruner skin was on special for $113 down from $199. Cheaper to get the blower for $107 than to buy the battery alone which is $150.

  • Saw this at bunnings and grabbed one today! Basically a free blower as I was after the battery!

  • Another person that grabbed one thinking “why not I’ll find a use for it.” Even though I live in an apartment with no garden.

Bunnings Hawthorn has signs saying this deal expires 25/08 (today) so get in whilst you can!

    • +2

You can use it to blow dry your hair.

    • Works great on tiles too!

  • Picked one up from Mt Gravatt store.
Used it today after mowing the lawn and to clean out the backyard. Works well enough. Very happy.

  • Back to $199…

  • Sort of wished up picked up two and sold the skin.

    • I bought a kit and sold the skin to a work mate for $40 as I only needed the battery and charge. I was also thinking of buying a couple and then selling them..

      • That's what im playing to do also.

  • Anyone got a receipt they can upload? Wouldn't mind seeing if they will still price match it
