    • Are you certain one can pay for vouchers with a Wishcard?

      • Forgot to specify. What I meant is to get the voucher using eGiftcard at any Woolworths, not Big W.

        • Last time I tried (6 monghs ago) when buying, it would not allow payment via Giftcard. It is possible that it was due to Boost was on special at the time (at Woolies)? Are you sayin BigW do accept Giftcard payment?
I am due for a topup on 16th so might give it a go again…..even at Woolies.

          • @Borg: It won't work even if it's not special

            • @CVonC: As per below, it worked fine at Cig counter.

        • +1

Bought a few for family members this way in the last few months without issues (not on special, too). I bought over the cigarette counter everytime, though.

          • @EVA-01: I can confirm it worked fine (today) paying for $150 top up using Wish Gift card via Woolies cigarette counter. In turn saved me $7.50. Better than nothing so happy with that.
            Cheers for clarifying.

  • Big W Altona meadows (Vic) has few if anyone needs. I bought one but going to return as I have already put port in request 2 days back on $2 sim

    • Big W at Canberra Airport (Majura Park)
Has restocked plenty at gift card/sim stand.

  • Rouse Hill, Sydney, BigW has stock after ordering in over forty to meet rain-check list. Get there quick - the staff member told me that they were not permitted to rain-check again and can strictly only sell stock on hand.

does anyone know if boost can be used overseas to receive sms free?

Porting to Boost is becoming nightmare for me now. Porting requested last week on Thursday and calling Boost multiple times hasn't helped either.

    • Not for me. Bought 2 last week. Transferred / ported the same night and confirmed working the following night. New to Boost. Transferred /Ported from Aldi Mobile retaining my numbers.

      • -1

Well good gum drops for you because apparently 800 people are waiting

  • For anyone that successfully ported: I got a message from telstra and entered my transfer verification code like they said. Does that mean I'll be ported soon?

    • My experience is that you should receive an email from Boost when your number is successfully ported and is active with Boost. If you're not sure always talk to Boost customer service.

    • Yes, that's what happened to my port, but it was late at night, so the port completed the following evening.
And you will receive an email too. Another way to know is you will not be able to use your old SIM I.e. you will no longer be able to call that number.

  • Has anyone has trouble Porting to Boost? I've been waiting 7 days, contacted them at least 10 times and still no answer as to when they will port or what the problem is. As per above comment, I even checked if they need to post a blank sim. It seems like they have some massive issues going on

    • No trouble porting for me. The only issue I had was during the ID validation. I used my drivers licence online which failed. I then continue the registration by calling Boost support and wala, the same ID validation worked. After that I received the transfer validation SMS from Telstra (not boost)

      • Im glad your's worked! I went through the port process, verification code and got the email saying it would be done in 24 hours, it is woolies (Telstra) network to Boost don't know if that changes things

    • so far 2.5 days!

  • Anyone have trouble porting from vodafone. 6 hours and counting so far. Would like to know what time it is likely to port.

    • Same here (Lebara aka Voda)….did you activate and verify by clicking link Boost sent via sms

      • Yes I did activate and verify(about an hour after activation) after I put old sim back in phone and received text from telstra(boost)

    • I ported two Vodafone prepaid services on Friday. Couldn’t do it online (system issue) so had to ring and get customer service to do it. One service was ported in ten minutes, the other service just ported this morning after many calls to Boost (Telstra) porting team.

      • Good for you mate. I spent 40 mins waiting to talk to someone from Porting team and finally got hold of someone who told me that they have application outage since 2 weeks hence porting are not happening….I suspect complete BS***

        • Spent another hour on phone and could not get through anyone….bloody frustrating…

          • @pyramid: Are you speaking with the porting team? The number I called was 1800 631 334.

            • @luztra: Yes…. could not get through today after two try of 1hr and 40min wait…

    • 2.5 days from Kogan

I had no issues porting from Optus post paid. My/our contracts ran out on the Friday, and on Saturday morning I registered the SIMs online for myself and my wife, using our drivers licences, and both ports were done in under 15 minutes. It is interesting that all receipts and comms are from Telstra.

We are really liking Boost for sure, not only is it great value on this annual deal but we seem to get top connections and clarity of calls, no trouble calling the USA either. We're located in regional Qld and Optus was getting a bit flaky, so much so I thought my hearing was playing up! Recent trip to suburban SW Melbourne saw no issues either.

    Cheerz Wabster.

  • Telstra/ Boost is absolutely horrible at their jobs in porting over. Coming from Vodafone it has been over 8 business days.

Time after time calling the transfer team and being told to wait, that they are sending through a new sms or are working on it or are having technical issues. All I hear are excuses and no definite answer when I will get my number back. My old sim card does not even work either.

Called them again today after the usual 30 minute queue and was hung up on the spot? What great customer service. So not being able to help at all and hanging up on you is what they would do instead for you.

Other people seem to get port through with no problems and others are having similar problems. What can you even do? All you are told to do is wait wait and wait for 48 hours, then another 48 hours. Pathetic.

    • If you are porting $2 sim, its worth asking them to cancel porting. I'm in similar boat and called them again , they said they have application issue and porting process is stuck.

    • yes have to agree

    • Let us know when they finally port you. I'd like to know roughly how long it takes.

      • After working with them to sort out the problem once again, we found out that my number is active and I can receive messaged on the old sim number so the problem is solely with Telstra.

Being told to wait another 24 hours for an SMS message to come through, nothing has (big surprise there).

It has been 10 business days and today I'm pulling the plug and cancelling the port.

        • Wow…mine is 7th business days - yesterday spent an 1.5hr phone but was on wait and finally i disconnected…i will ask them to cancel portin

  • Just spoke to 1800 631 334 (what Boost chat service rep referred to as special team and took 45 minutes to be connected..) and they admitted issues being going around in the past 3 weeks. Rep said the reason was due to changes in whole technical team.. Not sure if it's that hard to port numbers..
Was advised that porting should take 48 hours but no guarantee (lot of backlogs)…

    • Been ported yet? I received another text message from telstra yesterday morning but still nothing.

      • Nothing progressing after 1 week.. Called 3 times to follow up but same response every time saying they can only send emails to porting specialist team, but can't speak to them in person?? Bit stupid… Loosing patience

        • Not sure if this works for boost but when I was porting to Telstra two weeks ago the guy at the Voda store claimed that live chat with Telstra is a lot faster for porting than calling.
In my case it went well, my port was started on a Friday at ~13:30 and went active at ~19:30 that night.

          • @mapax: Done 3 live chats already and no success. They just told me everything looked fine and I should be ported soon. Now 10 biz days and counting…….

            • @Webbo: Dang, that's just ridiculous.
Lol, not only does it sounds like boost don't want to sell these packs but they don't want to port people that do manage to buy them.

              • +1

@mapax: Hooray!! Finally ported from vodafone to Boost after almost 3 weeks. Suspect it was me engaging the TIO yesterday. They said they had already sent e-mail to boost about the matter.

    • Tried to port on Monday night, still waiting.
Got the same answer on the phone as well, about this being a technical issue on boost/telstra's end and nothing else to do but wait. At least it doesn't disrupt your current service.

  • Just ported mine over from Kogan to Boost took 1 hour, All done works fine, no dramas.
