How is this a 'deal' ?

It's the exact same price at Officeworks.

Shows as free delivery at OW as well, so not even worthy of prime. No deal.

      • Unfortunately no free delivery for me in regional QLD. But still the same $25.95 delivery. Only hope is doing a free store pickup here at the nearby Officeworks store.

        • Ahh, I'm in Sydney. Would they give you free delivery over a certain amount? Might be worth a call!

    • It's probably every day price too.

  • The hard drives in these are probably really bad.

    • I believe the drive inside of these would be the equivalent of a Seagate ST4000LM024 4TB 2.5" 15mm hard drives. It's actually a really good deal since those internal drives go for about $240 at PC stores. And you can shuck it. But just know that it's too thick to fit in game consoles and laptop computers.

I have a 4TB Seagate backup plus which is not even 2 years old and already has 16 bad sectors. I am in the middle of running Seatools now

    • whenever I mention Seagate's poor quality control, I get attacked

it is understandable that it isn't worth investing in this technology anymore

    • My 6TB (1 year old) Seagate backup drive is exhibiting the same thing. Never again.

    • It failed the test so i went to https://www.seagate.com/au/en/support/warranty-and-replaceme…
and found it is still under warranty.
Even though i bought it from Amazon US i still have an OZ address to send it to. All pretty easy really but still inconvenient

  • Does this require an external power brick or just power data cable? Looking for the largest portable data cable powered storage so I don't have to plug in an extra power plug every time I use it and just use the data transfer cable.

I forgot what size can do this max for example I think 500gb ones can because they require less power and so can charge via USB cables or something.

    • It draws the power through the USB cord.
