I think this does NOT have Australian warranty (ie. From Samsung)

    • -2

Is that really a problem though? I doubt it.

Well, Samsung Australia has a 2 year warranty on their phones. it may or may not be an issue however i am alway weary of NEW models (was burned by LG)

    • Even though grey market,Still a good price considering the phone released just 10 days ago.

I got the Samsung education price of $1359

Did you get the headphone ?

        • No.

          • -1

@techno2000: I got the PLUS for $1527 preorder from GoodGuys and also got a $100 voucher and included the AKG headphone. So paid $1427 .. I guess $200 off is good if you don't mind the warranty issues.

    • It will be a problem if you cracked your phone screen. Third party repairs are shockingly expensive and no guarantee of original parts, no guarantee of phone's water proofing after repair and Samsung AU will not entertain grey imports. Experienced it myself.

      • That's what home insurance coverage is for………….

They will NOT price match gray stock either

      • they will bro.. they will..

  • Thanks OP. Just trying to get the basic note 9 grey import but havnent see any deals lately:(

  • This has the snapdragon processor instead of the exynos one we get here.

Supposedly it is a bit better at gaming but about the same for day to day use.

speaking from experience and my knowledge of how they work, there is one huge disadvantage on the exynos version (which we all get by default in aus)
the battery life - when you're in 4G the idle battery drain is horrific compared to snapdragon. this goes for all flagship exynos samsungs from s8 onwards

I returned my Australian9825 variant note10 plus and bought this Snapdragon 855 variant.

For a much batter performance, much batter camera and much batter battery life and much cheaper!!!

Dont expect samsung's warranty, i bought it by using amex so it has amex warranty and capped credit $500 for screen protection.

    • What did you guys reply??? I want to see… ah….

    • Any article or video talking about the camera differences? I see the speed stuff and its mostly just the GPU stuff that's notable.

Thinking would Home and Contents or at the minimum PayPal 6 months protection be the only warranty you can get?

Yes, different chipsets have different impacts on photos saturation, sharpness etc… I have been watching so many YouTube comparisons and articles.

Sorry I can’t remember the sauce, but i can assure you it makes difference.

        • Is it worth the risk of a grey import?

          • @Jfi2ee: When your local variant is a not what it suppose to be, grey import is better option.

Difference minute in regards to battery life and performance. Camera not tested

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ni0sCLDoPPs

      • if u don’t care about the performance, the difference of minutes probably is not a case. Doesn’t matter it is 9825 or 855, or even 845.

If you r a geek, or you want more bang for your buck, trust me, that will make a huge difference when you heavily use it such as playing game, making videos and more multitaskings which will heat up your phone rapidly.

By the way, if performance is not a prioritised purpose of buying a phone, then why not just go for something cheaper with a standard cpu like snapdragon 710, which is also capable for your daily functions like txt, taking photos and so on.

        • minute = as in small / negligible

  • I don't suppose this is the 5g version?

Anyone recieved there phone except it has been opened and not brand new sealed… And then they decieved us by placing a fake Samsung sticker over the top?
