Personally, I'm looking for a brushless 36V or 58V 2.4mm line trimmer, but if 18V satisifies you this seems a good deal.

The battery and charger alone are worth more than $199

  Victa: 5 years warranty on product, no mention about battery (not even on their web site)
  Ryobi: 6 years warranty on product, 3 years on battery/charger

    Pretty sure you can get similar fittings to fit any brand of line trimmer.

    Some of the ones I have seen are metal, not plastic.

  I assume when it comes to trimming line, thicker is better?

  I notice the cheaper trimmers like this use 1.5mm line, whereas more expensive ones are 2.4mm or even 2.7mm
