Shame this isn't compatible with the Unifying receiver.
But $9 for a wireless mouse is good.

    • +3

A spare unifying receiver is more than this mouse

  • +2

At $9 I'll give it a punt. Thanks OP.

    Beautiful. Thanks OP.

  • I've got the keyboard and mouse version of this… I've lost my receiver. Anyone know if they are universal?

    • +1

Unless they support the unifying receiver (this mouse doesn't), you're out of luck :(.

    • They use the Nano receivers, not the Unifying receivers.

I still have one of these in the back of the cupboard as a backup spare. It's an excellent mouse.

Buy a whole heap as stocking stuffers or Secret Santa presents! Who wouldn't appreciate the gift of a quality Logitech wireless mouse?

helps you converse the battery life

I didn't know you could negotiate battery life =D

  • +1

Thanks OP, I'd been considering getting a wireless mouse for work. Hard to resist at this price!

  • Under what situation, you would want a wirless mouse without wireless keyboard, apart from laptop?

    • +6

You generally move your mouse around whilst you use it, a keyboard generally remains mostly stationary.

      • +1

        Great point!

    • For my usage, I have the keyboard and mouse combo. This way, only 1 USB port is taken up should I be using the laptop at home with the keyboard and mouse. When out, I can just take the mouse.

    • Laptop. I take my mouse with me sometimes into meetings. Keyboard comes with the laptop.

Wireless just means you have to change the batteries and possibly worry about sync issues. Not ideal.

    • Oh dear. I have to change 1 battery every year……

And never had sync issues with any wireless mouse I’ve owned - haven’t owned a corded mouse since around 2005

  • Will this work with MS bluetooth receiver? I bought a KB/mouse combo but lost the mouse, don't want to use up an extra USB port for the receiver.

    • It's not Bluetooth.

  • Of course this deal comes 2 days after I bought a mouse at Officeworks for more than double this price.

    Good find OP nonetheless.

  • If your laptop has wifi then you don’t need the receiver and use up a USB port correct?

    • The OP made the effort to do a good description. Specifically: "A 2.4GHz wireless connection for the Logitech wireless mouse is provided by a discrete USB receiver, reliably providing a steady signal without dropouts or excessive lag."

You missed my point. I guess the laptop wifi card can not be used as a receiver for the mouse…

        • You misssed your repliers point. No, you can’t use wifi without the receiver.

          • -1

@Blunglefortness: You missed every point. No, I’ve been using my wifi fine without any receiver.

            • @MuddyClear: to use this mouse you MUST use the USB receiver that comes with it, has nothing to do with your WIFI! If you had bluetooth on your computer and it was a bluetooth compliant mouse you could use that but it is not. WIFI will by itself not run a mouse.

    • It's not WiFi.

  • Does this mouse have a thumb button on the side to go back a page?

    thanks BA. got 1

It's a pretty average mouse but the price is great!

Great little mouse, this one! Partner's got an extensive track record of mouse abuser & even murder, but this little guy's taken a decent beating so far, & it's still going strong. It's been dropped on pavers/tiles more times than I can count, from standing & table height, & I think it's even taken a header off a 2nd-storey balcony (into a garden) at least once as well. Weaker, far more expensive mice have gone to pieces at just a fraction of this abuse in the past, so that's pretty impressive.

Have had this exact model for over 5 years. Even the battery lasts over a year, would recommend.
Just got another one, thanks OP.

  • Black seems to be now available @ $9.00.
