TCL 50" 50P8M 4K Android TV $472 + Delivery @ Appliance Central eBay

TCL 4K 50" 50P8M Android Oreo TV.

Cheapest it appears to have been on OzBargain was $590 + $44 freight only 3-4 weeks ago, so this price is significantly better!

I think this is the best deal around for a 50-55" full Android TV. I was looking at buying a Sony 55" Android from their seconds store for $792, but for such a big discount this seems great!

  • I'm contemplating nudging my 50" kogan TV off the cabinet in the spare room just to get this. Great price for a pretty full featured unit.

    • Yeah the price looks unbeatable for a full Android 50" 4K TV. I'm grabbing one for the bedroom.

  • Is TCL like the cheap Chinese rebadged junk or are they a bit more special? I think they make some Rocky TVs in the US? So maybe a step up from the cheapest brands?

    • I'm not too sure, though according to Wikipedia TCL are the third largest TV manufacturer by market share.

    • +2

You mean ROKU, but i think the US ones are vastly superior to what we get in Aus

      • Yeah roku… autocorrect

    • TCL isnt the cheap stuff you see like Viano Bauhn etc but it is in between those brands and the top Samsung LG tier

    • Ellen gives away this tv on your TV show a lot

I have a tcl and if it's anything like it stay away.

Tcl software and interface is junk.. this maybe different if it's stock Android?

  • what are these like for gaming? wondering if a 1080ti could drive 3 of them for a truly awesome surround gaming experience! 2nd question - how do sneak 3 of these past the missus?

    • +1

Question 1: Might wanna check the refresh rate on these. At this price doubt they will be that crash hot for PC gaming monitors

Question 2: Its easier asking for forgiveness than permission ;-)

      • Yeah what's the refresh rate on this?

        • most likely 50hz.
i emailed support before asking the same question but they never responded.

          • @WhatWhoWhyUsername: I checked the manual and there's no specifications page lol. It has some clear motion feature or whatever though.

  • I have 2 tcl. One 65" 2018 model (interface was slow but downloaded some firmware off the net and that fixed it)..

Just bought a new one not to long ago it was the 49" 2019 model only HD got it cheap but I probs should have got this one as it's 4k. Kinda kicking myself.

I have to say the 2019 models seem snappier with oreo. Notice on screen keyboard typing is smoother then the 2018. Starting of apps etc all smooth. So I'm a believer in this brand cant fault it for the price.

Forgot to mention 3 yr warrant is a bonus to have. Haven't had to contact them about anything but I guess piece of mind.

    • Great to hear that Oreo is pretty fast, that was my only concern!

I was surprised by TCL android TV. I thought android OS on TV would be junk but its been pretty snappy & working well so far. You can get previous Versions of android in their website. Its easy to roll back if you don't like the update.

    • Really happy to hear this, as the OS speed was something I was worried about.

      • Have you received your TV yet jeppetto? And how are you finding it.

  • +2

Can't fault TCL customer service. I bought the 50E18US earlier this year for $390, same specs as this TV without the Android TV. Within a few months it had two lines of dead pixels so they replaced it by upgrading me to this model, came out to my house and swapped them over.

  • Back in stock.

  • All - I have been looking for a budget TV and this seems a good match. I called up the good guys and they are offering this TV for $500 as the best price. Is there any difference between getting at good guys or ordering on eBay? I am looking from support perspective, in case of any issues with the TV.

    • No difference you still get 3 year warranty. If you do get it for $500 can you please upload the receipt. I also want to get it for that price @ TGG.

      • Sure. If I decide to go with the good guys, I will upload the receipt. Again, my follow up question to this would be, do these sellers have no role once they sell the product? meaning any issues, would they just divert us to the manufacturers? if yes, then ebay would make sense to me as they i get the product home for $500.

  • Back in stock for $456 after code + delivery.
