  • Any chance the code could be extended to apply on the kit one too?

  • +4

Actually, revoking the vote. This isn’t 40% off. The price tracking sites show this as $9.99 until a day or so ago.

Pretty sure this is something the ACCC mention as false advertising?

did OP try to pull wool nylon over our eyes

still is $7.79 a decent price for this?

      • +1

I think $7.79 is still a decent price - assuming it really is MFi!

        • If it’s not MiFi I’ll be pretty upset

          • @0jay: any way to ensure that it is MFi prior to purchase?

            • @docians: They state it’s certified, exhaustively. If you have problems after an update I dare say Amazon could be made to compensate but beyond that there’s not much you can do but buy Apple or check for certification.

            • +1

@docians: Okay, so you can get to a PDF after clicking a tick box here : https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getFAQNDA.action

If that doesn’t work, go via the FAQ - https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getFAQ.action, and the last few questions have links, one of them is to the manufacturers list.

There is a search interface too, but I’m assuming because Linkpin or Yorko doesn’t appear on that list, these are not MFi cables.

Why apple makes this so difficult is beyond me.

              • @virtualsid: Are you searching by brand? Because Linkpin is unlikely to be the manufacturer, sameway Amazon cables are not manufactured by Amazon

Scratch that - you’re right, Amazon is listed.

              • +1

                @virtualsid: Because they're Apple. ;)
Nothings changed in my 30 years of dealing with them.

this is fine or whatever but i wanna mention that I recently got a 5m cable from aliexpress for a few dollars and quality is good but the length is amazing
i can walk all around the living room or bedroom while its connected. i used to have to lean out of bed to reach the phone on its short cable, now i can comfortably use it in bed and walk over to the toilet or whatever

i dont know why anyone would bother with wireless charging when you can just get a long-ass cable

    • +1

      Link or it didn’t happen

      • so it seems to be on sale, so i went ahead and made posted a deal about it
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/482828

oh and it seems i got a 3m cable. theres another brand called Baseus that has a 5m cable, but if you can get this one for $0.01 you should

  • The link goes to a two unit pack (short and long) which doesn’t accept the code. So what code do I have to use for the two unit pack?

  • Neg - price % is misleading + not MFI.
