    But its only Single SIM.

    • +2

They only make the 5g note 10+ in single SIM. The 4g versions come dual. Rubbish I know.

      • Only Chinese 5G version has dual sim:(

    • I think 5G is in its infancy. Probably next gen, they might include dual sim.

      • +1

You would think having so many variants would only increase production costs and complexity. I really don't get why they bother making single, double and now hybrid variants rather than just making dual (or now hybrid).

        • +2

Because people want dual sim phones but carriers don't want to subsidize or give out free phones where their competitors sim card can be used.

      • +3

They should put in esim support instead. You can add multiple carriers without needing a sim.

        • +3

Then it is a single SIM phone if none of your carriers support esim

    • On a dual SIM, does the s/w account for dual sim? Like multiple address books, messages, knowing which number the call is coming to etc?

  • Tempting. Sell the Pixel XL2 for $250? So $900 upgrade. Hmmmmm.

Is your maths a bit off?

      • lol, I wouldn't get 5G model.

  • Cry for the poor guys who put their hands down in the first day.

    • +2

If you got a 10/10+ yesterday and want a 10 5G today you can buy this now and then return the other one without opening it within 14 days of purchase: Change of mind policy here - https://www.samsung.com/au/estore/static/link_mindpolicy_p/

I was one of the guys, lucky i resisted and didn’t open the box since I found 9825 exynos is not good enough.

I returned it and bought the imported snapdragon 855 variant and saved few hundred bucks

        • From whr u bought 855 version nd how kuch it costs ?

        • 9825 exynos is not good enough.

          Why?

          • +2

@spaceflight: Battery life way better on Snapdragon processor vs Samsung Exynos… I think on Mr who's the boss it showed a extra hour?

I always buy overseas model if Samsung phone

  • Compare to iphone11 pro max 256 this is almost half price.
But anyway I am not a Samsung fan.

you buying a phone or a TV?

    (Was $1999)

It was 1 day at that price

  • +1

Not sure if I'm annoyed or not that I bought the 10+ yesterday and could have got this for an extra $210 today….. I mean, more memory is nice, 5g sounds nice…. Meh

    • could you return it?

      • According to cbeards comment yeah. Not sure if I'm fussed or not though. For the price difference it's pretty much just getting the 5g for an extra $150ish because I can buy a memory card if I need one, which I probably don't in reality. I mean future proofing and all with 5g… But I'm not a mobile data hound,so I'm not sure if I care that much. Plus 5g would require a plan upgrade…. Guess I'm decided?

        • 4g is currently faster than 5g in Australia according to some article I read earlier. Partly due to 5g being in its infancy and partly due to Australian 4g having the best d/l speeds in the world.

          • +4

@BartholemewH: ‘Australian 4g having the best d/l speeds in the world’.

            Me using vodafone: interesting

        • +3

I have grabbed the 5G mostly thinking of the resale of the phone in a year or two when I look to upgrade. By then 5G will be rolled out and for someone looking to buy a note 10 plus, the 5G will be a lot more important then.

          • +3

@MrFizz: Thts hell lot of planning mate :D

          • +1

@MrFizz: Good thinking there definitely. I'll end up handing it down to older parents, so it's probably better that's not "that new technology, it's too fast!" lol

          • @MrFizz: Well been reading up on this to decide on the 4G or 5G and apparently the current Samsung 5G uses the Qualcomm X50 chip which does not support both high and low bands frequency range and will be replaced with the Qualcomm X55 later in the year that will support both. That made me think that the resell will not be as good since the new 5G model would be rolled out by later this year.

            • @JaeTee: U mean Note 10+ 5G new model coming later this yr ?

              • @ChipsChicky: It will be the same phone with updated Qualcomm X55 chip which is the newer 5G chip. They mentioned later this year. But i would assume they would want to clear all current stock first.

      • You can, you have 14 days

        • In an unopened condition though.

same price in samsung partner portal

$1999 for a phone… Aren't things meant to get cheaper the more you refine them? Phone prices are getting out of control these days, could acquire a pretty damn good laptop for that price.

    • Mhmmm.

They I think Jayrigeverything on YouTube said that for the majority of people, a 500$ midtier phone will do 95% of what they need their phones to do. The rest of it is hyped up marketing.

If it has USB-C, a decent display, and ample storage I'm probably sold. However, after using the note line up, I've grown attached to the stylus and the extra functions it is able to provide.

        That's true.

The Moto Z phones, Nokia and others are just as good for typical use plus have a better battery life because of the lower end CPU that uses less power

Ozbargainers are probably heavy in that 5% demographic!

new iPhone is $2,499.00. (Pro Max with 512gb)

    • Yes. But they charge whatever the market will bear. Supply and demand.

They charge this much because people are willing to buy them. When people stop paying these prices, they cut the price.

The new iPhone 11 range is cheaper than last year's models because of the drop in demand from last year's price hikes.

Samsung feeling the iPhone 11 pressure @ $1199 AUD.
Competition is always good for the consumers :)

    • This deal has nothing to do with that…

Samsung always sells their phones at a relatively large discount to corporate partners. Usually about 20-30% for gov/edu while their direct retail partners can even get 50% off.

I get my phone's straight from Samsung at 50% off every time they release a new flagship. Just bought this 5G for $999, which again, has nothing to do with competitors releasing a new phone and is merely a sweet benefit kindly provided from Samsung which I will gladly take when offered.

      • Is gov 50% discount?

      • Telstra after doing a training ! 100s on Gumtree for 1100 !

  • Can someone please provide link to the government portal? Also if it as simple as registering with a gov email address? I could use my mates address.

  • +1

I know why iPhone still sells well…buy one on day one or day 180 is still the same price. Samsung nm, you buy on day one, day 180 is already half price…. Mm

    • +3

If you directly buy from Apple same price at Day 180, not sure why are you on OzBargain if you pay Apple RRP. Shame shame puppy shame

  • Anyone know if resellers get 5G? For example will spintell customers get to use Optus 5G?

    Both colours OOS…

    • tbf though the black wasn't in stock in the first place.

  • So is the link & price only for education people?

  • Galaxy Note10+5g(Single Sim) 512GB shows 'Out of Stock'

    • Their portal is shit. You can't preorder, you have to just keep checking. There's a "notify email" thing which doesn't work

  • Will Jb Hifi price match this? Has anyone tried?

    • This is one of the rare times where they actually shouldn't be price matching it, so will be unlikely for you to be successful.

However someone in another thread was able to get them to price match it and then signed up to the $65 BYO and received a $500 gift card which was then used on the phone, making it an absolute cracker of a deal.

  • +1

Managed to get the dual SIM version for half price at launch. Loving the phone, plus the aura glow colour is so sexy, really pops when you use it outdoors. iPhone 11 looks exactly like an old model :)

This proper review shows why this is the best phone out of all.

It's 2019 and if you don't even have split screen apps, move on :)

Most importantly, it does not feel like you're buying the same phone twice like a certain brand.

    • +5

One, 2 seconds of that video was enough to put me off..

Two, note 8 note 9 note 10…they arent that different… It's not unique.

  • +2

Hey guys for clarity I went to jbhifi in Liverpool and the manager told me that the price offered isn't to the public i.e U need an edu email. Also at 30% off the manager said Jbhifi will be selling at a loss… So he denied my price match.

Furthermore you can't price match Samsungs physical store either because their system apparently does not allow a discount further than 15% atm. I tried. I hope this helps fam.

Just order it online and hope the courier doesn't throw your phone while delivering rip

    • This was already established in the forums.

    • Cheers fam. Kinda knew the retail stores here would be reluctant to price match when it's not accessible to the public

  • Where abouts in the world could you go to take full advantage of this phones 5g capabilities?

    • Strayan capital cities :)

      • Strayan maybe, but definitely not Australian :)

  • 5G is just more future proof if you are planning to use your phone for at least 2 years, by 2021 5g should be everywhere

    • Actually 3 years total, 2 years of OS update and 3 years of security update. Cost of ownership per month is cheaper with Samsung than Iphone 11 Pro Max with no 5G but 5 years of iOS update.

  • i'm very curious about this one, it looks amazing but i think i'll wait for the price to drop even more

  • Damn, out of stock! Hopefully it comes back in stock while this sale is still on.

  • Has this been out of stock from day 1 of the sales?

    • Pretty much. Doesn't seem like it's going to come back in stock during the sale :(

  • Anyone get dispatch or delivery yet?

    • +1

      Got mine today…

  • Will there be any issue in the future if we buy from friend’s .edu.au I’d? (E.g. warranty claim , GST claim at airport, etc.)
