what are the T&C's and does it come with domain reg for one year?

    • Yes, it comes with domain reg for one year for .com, .org, .net, .info.

Here's what it says during the signup process:
"You will be charged today ($9.95) to secure the Domain Registration during the free trial. Following the free trial, the charge will be applied to the hosting cost, making the registration free."

My guess is that when the 2 week trial period is over, the $9.24 cost is deducted from the upfront payment of $9.95. Then, you will have the remaining difference of $0.71 applied after the one year period is over.

      T&C's:

      Inclusions:

Looking at their web page, the only thing that concerns me is that they have a 10 year old named Mike S. who's been their technical support person since 2006! Apparently he's good with computers. Isn't child labour illegal in most countries now? Good deal though.

  • Great deal, whenever I try to signup, it only goes to the 2 weeks free trial page? How do I get to the yearly hosting options, to enter in this code?

    • I think that the deal is over.

Look at the screen capture (top right) - it's a 4th of July banner.

The link now redirects to the normal hosting page.

I just tried going through the signup process again, and the code still seems to work.

So not sure why the landing page is redirecting to the normal page… maybe the offer was too popular?

The cached copy of the page I have says:

"Hurry, sale ends 7/6/2011 at 11:59PM PST!"

Which, converted to AEST should be 16:59 on Thursday 7/7/11.

Yes, it starts with the 2 week free trial page, and you need to enter your details.

Later on in the signup process, it will ask you whether you want the 1 or 2 year hosting plan.

Then, at the very end of the sign up process (where it asks you for a credit card), it asks you to enter the promo code.

      • Thanks, worked for me now, strange way to do it.

  • I took them up on their last deal. The hosting seemed OK, but had a few initial problems

  • WordPress speaks highly of them, "in our opinion, the hosts below represent some of the best and brightest of the hosting world"
    http://wordpress.org/hosting/

I found the deal yesterday and thought it mentioned it was available till the 7th.
You might have to contact them directly to get it.

  • I've used them for a number of years…generally very happy with them. Uptime has been better than previous hosts I used.

Never felt much desire to move from them unless I needed to go into a Windows environment in the future in which case I'd consider my options.

  • I've used dreamhost and am very happy with their service. Worth noting that this is a one year deal — after a year prices revert to their usual (highly competitive) levels. That said, at this price it is almost a no-brainer … in addition to hosting space, they offer 50Gb of space that can be used for backups of your own machines. On Amazon S3 this backup space alone would cost far more than the $9.24.

  • just made it, thanks.
