Is this model really worth $100 more than the blower fan one

it's only $40-60 more and yes. the blower reference model runs way too hot in the GPU junction in my opinion

Reference models have hit ~$560 with ebay coupon.
I think I'll wait and hope the partner models drop a little lower before I bite.

I missed that sale I have non-buyers regret

Waste of money not buying a reference blower card. I've undervolted mine and run at 1900 Mhz, 0.98mv custom fan curve.

The fan never gets above 2200 Rpm and temps below 70 °C in an Mini-Itx case.

        • Makes me feel bad for wanting a Sapphire Nitro+ version.

Autumn though, come summer.. thermal throttling!

        • I pulled the trigger on a reference card last night, ill just do some tweaks to try and get the temp down - maybe try the nzxt bracket and put an AIO cooler on it

You really shouldn't compare ebay sale price to a normal store's price. Reference models were just $560 2 weeks ago on ebay. "Is this model worth $125 more?" is the correct question. And the correct answer is "hell no"

If you are concerned about temps, wait for the prices of these partner models to come down. Otherwise, save yourself a pile of cash and just tweak the voltage and fan curve of a reference model and be done with it.

        edit - PCCG's best price is $640 + delivery. uMart has it for $600 + delivery: https://www.umart.com.au/ASRock-Radeon-RX-5700-XT-8G-Graphic…

    • $140 more than the cheapest recent ebay price for a reference XT.

Definitely not worth it. Either buy a reference and tweak the voltage + fan curve or wait for these partner models to drop in price. I went in on a reference XT for $561 (shipping included) and have been very pleased with it after just a few clicks in wattman to get the temps under control. I plan on adding some washers to increase the mounting pressure and likely replacing the thermal compound with some kryonaut as Gamer's Nexus suggested users do.

  • "111 viewed per day", this would sell like hot cakes for sure..

Bought a reference rx5700 (non-XT) from eBay for 480 a few days ago. The jump in price from reference to AIB is insane in Australia.

    • Really annoying undervolting doesn't what the same attention overclocking does. I'd bet the partner card pricing would be a hell of a lot closer what they cost in the US if people knew how to get the blowers to a usable level.

True. Undervolting has rarely worked for my amd cards though. Lost the silicone lottery many times. I'll be happy with stock this time. Can't justify the cost of AIB cards in Australia.

  • AIB 5700XTs are in low stock so prices a relatively high. Wait for 4-6 weeks if possible for supply and prices to improve.

  • do these run cool super worried about temps

    • AMD said a temperature reading of 110C during a "typical gaming" session is both "expected and within spec.

my view is that noise should be your only concern.
