  • DATA ROLLOVER
to use in next recharge if you recharge before expiry

Does that work if a 12 month Recharge is used?

    • +1

No. Not for 6 months either.

      • They had mixed response. leyton01 had asked this to Boost customer service in Chat, and they said yes
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/442303

        • I wouldn't believe them.
I always get conflicting messages from them.

If you look on the website, there is no data rollover on the 6/12 mnth recharges.

When you have a look at the Boost Critical Information Summary you'll notice on page 1 it has a section for "Rollover" for all the 28 day plans but when you go to page 2 the rollover option is not available for long term plans.

    • Based on previous comments (from people who actually did it, I think), if you're on a 28-day plan then recharge with 12 month plan:

      • bonus data will not roll over
      • standard data from the 28-day plan rolls over for the next 28 days only, not 12 months
  • If you buy this $30 SIM kit, can you recharge $120 so that you have $150 credit ($120 + $30 included with the kit) then choose the $150 12-mth 80GB plan? Do you then get 100GB data (80GB with the plan + 20GB with the kit)?

    • Most likely not.

      • As in, most likely not able to add a $120 recharge to the $30 of credit included in the SIM KIT and choosing the $150 plan? Or most likely not getting 100GB data?

        • Not to the first, hence also not for the second. Kogan sometimes does things like you mention if you talk to them and ask, but usually not Telstra/optus/boost etc.

  • Good luck with porting still waiting after 10 days and it was escalated.

    • I am as also stuck until I put my old Kogan sim back in my Phone and found an activation link text message they had sent me. After using the link I was up and running within a couple of hours. Might be worth a try.

      • yes - i clicked that link on day one as have many. Apparently they had an outage for several weeks with some getting through but many not. Nothing on whirlpool I could see but I could be bloody blind.

      • Are you supposed to wait until the old sim has no signal before you insert new SIM? I've ported many times, never think about stuck. Everything is linked to my number now, 10 days, that sucks

  • I ported over from optus last week to boost I was up and running in 5 hours I got on the live chat about 4 hours into it to see how it was going and it didn't take long after that :) give live chat a try

yes yes- this is an outage that affects some and not the other - been on chat and the phone many times. "Did not happen to me" seems to be a common response as my ports have taken a few hours at most and only a day once because of my typo - this one is confirmed ok but a system delay. I have ported many times. I only bother posting so people who want to port have real expectations and there is a risk.

  • Finished porting from Vodafone prepaid to Boost yesterday. Submitted the request on Sunday night and received confirmation next morning.

    • Finished porting from Vodafone prepaid to Boost yesterday.

Last time it took me 5 days.

      • so far 8 working days - many calls - two escalations. Nothing yet.

When it's done, get back on chat and ask for some credit for compensation. I ended up getting free month with 20Gb.
