Good price. Better than the deal I posted.

    • +3

Thanks for the shoutout mate, cheers

  • +1

    Phenomenal price

  • +3

I'm so sick of seeing the ones purchased for $79 put up for $220 on Facebook, wish I could block those ads.

    • +6

Why? The people who wasted hours trying to grab that deal deserve the profit if they wish to sell, as a compensation for their time.

      • also resellers need to spend time posting ad and dealing with potential buyers, then organising pick up or going to the post office to post item, all take times

      • -3

Hours is a exaggeration when the deal sold out in under 2 minutes.

People can charge whatever they want but it's not really compensation for their time in this case, it's just pure capitalism.

        • And whats wrong with capitalism? If capitalism means work or sell for profit then whats wrong with it?

          • +2

@burningrage: its wrong when it doesnt work in my favour

            • @[Deactivated]: You mean it's wrong when you don't have a share in my effort and hardwork?

Isn't that what Socialism means? I work so you can spend my salary/money?

        • +2

Hours is a exaggeration when the deal sold out in under 2 minutes.

Bollocks, it was for sale at least 8 times during the day so it would have been easy to waste hours getting one or two.

          it's just pure capitalism.

You realise that everything around us is capitalism which I'm sure you benefit from but you want your cake and eat it as well.

    • Coffee machines are next!

    Thanks OP :D

  • +2

    Only 3 left.

Finally got in on a decent deal on this thing.

  • +1

    Cheers OP, grabbed one!

  • Purchased before asking this.

But is this viable for Xbox one? Looking to speed up my load times. If not, got my first SSD anyway :D

    • It'll work just fine

    • It will depend on the game, but some games you can be saving more than 30 seconds when loading from an SSD.

XBox One/X only supports USB 3.0 (3.1 gen 1). This supports USB 3.1 gen 2 (though it doesn't really come close to maxing out USB 3.1 gen 2).
You can use this on XB1/XB1X, but it will fallback to USB 3.0/3.1 gen 1 mode.

  • +2

Can't have too many of these. Cheers OP.

  • Got it in the last deal. Great product.

  • +1

    Legend thanks OP, grabbed one.
Going to use with my Xbox & Laptop.

  • +1

Awesome, thanks OP! I'll be able to use my 500GB one as an external Windows bootcamp for my Mac now.

No luck, seems they're sold out now

    • +2

I could be wrong, but I just checked and it says more than 10 available?

    • +2

Not sure why someone would neg your comment, so I gave you a +

I don’t see it as out of stock, but always give it a few minutes and refresh as some sellers tend to add more of a particular item throughout the day.

      • also there are plenty of eBay sellers who 'drop-ship'. i.e. They list the stock holding held by the supplier as if it was physical stock in the eBay seller's own 'warehouse'. Depending upon the amount of stock they have pre-purchased or have allocated to them by the supplier does not always match what the supplier physically has on hand. In most cases the stock is shipped by the supplier on behalf of the eBay seller directly to the purchasing customer. The practice appears to becoming more reliable since Amazon set up shop in Oz as fulfillment requirements made by Amazon of their own suppliers and of Amazon Marketplace sellers is quiet stringent compared to the practices that used to go on with eBay sellers.

    • Still available…

      • It says they're available but after clicking on checkout it popped up saying 'you have selected more than the seller has available' or something like that. Maybe they added more stock now.

        • I tried it then without clicking the last payment button and all looked good. Maybe try one more time.

  • Was out of stock, then they must have added more …. they seem to have sooo many in stock! Hope it isn't a mistake and hope they won't cancel the orders

    • Can't be a mistake if they deliberately added more stock after running out.

      • I think it can be an automatic thing on ebay to add more stock when it runs out … not sure … lets hope they did an accurate stock take!

    • Wow sold almost 100 in 1 hour!!

  • Damn all gone, right when i had one in my cart about to hit buy on

    • Appears more stock has been added.

    • Strange I'd just placed my order a moment ago. Seems they auto-add stocks once sold out.

      • Well, tactic worked on me. If I knew "5 left" didn't really mean that there were 5 left, I might've put a little more thought into my purchase!

I am in the market for a new external storage.
Was looking at getting a nvme with an enclosure but this still seems good enough at the price?

  • I bought the 500gb for the same price last year lol. smh Technology.

  • +1

The item has been taken down now.
Looks like it's totally sold out.

  • Hi all,
    Quick question
Is this drive faster than the Samsung 860 EVO SSD 1TB ?
I have a couple of them in external enclosures & they work well.
    Thanks

    • +1

Depends on enclosures your using. Do a read and write speed test and post the results.

    • +1

Sequential read/write, due to SATA3 limit, 860 EVO could come close, but cannot surpass T5. T5 isn't actually doing NVMe like sequential read/write, it just barely exceeds SATA3.
Random read/write, 860 EVO should win the battle with ease.

The random read/write is generally more noticeable in real life.

      • Thanks for the info, much appreciated:-)

    • +1

Internally they're varients of 850 EVO mSATA drives over a USB bridge. In both your cases the limit is going to be SATA for sequential and USB for the IOPS. I have 3x T5s, 1x T3 and have run 860 Pros in enclosures, ignoring synthetic benchmarks, they're all basically the same. Basically all as good as you can get unless you want to look at external NVMe options.

      • The main thing for me is that T5 package is such a compact neat design. Shipped already! Just got an Auspost tracking number.

  • Luckily I got mine in time! Although shipping does Take 10 days…

  • Got an email just now to say the SSD is now out for delivery with Courier Please. Pretty quick.

    • Did yours arrive yet? Was it the 1tb one? I ended up receiving a 250gb one???

      • I received mine yesterday and it is the correct one, 1TB.

        • Alright, I'll send off a message. Disappointed that they missed it up.

  • I got mine but it's a 250gb one! Anyone got a mix up?

    • Nope, mine arrived as ordered. 1TB and it's an amazing little drive. Obviously a mix up on their part, you should contact them asap.

  • Just had PayPal email me saying I've been refunded and on eBay shows as refund pending

They could have at least emailed customers telling us they couldn't fulfill all orders.

    • I too got refunded with the following message:

      Hi there,

Due to an issue with our integration partner, the stock on hand that was made available on our eBay for this sale was inaccurate and we have unfortunately oversold on a number of orders.

We sincerely apologise but we will have to cancel and refund your order.

Again, we cannot apologise enough, thank you for your understanding.
      Kind Regards,

      Customer Service,
      The School Locker eBay

      • Surely we will leave negative feedback and down vote rating for this circumstance. Very bad reputation for a company like this…

    • Me, three.

  • +1

    Refunded too.

  • Wow that sucks on those who got refunded. Mine is estimated for delivery on Friday. Located Perth.

Hoping that it actually has been sent out.

  • Just received mine. Came with a nice large dent, for free! Bargain!

    Will contact their eBay.
