I rather like my local MSY, the Brendale branch. Two guys are always there, nice enough, happy to discuss parts and prior builds if they have the time.
Agree, heading there today to grab some gear. We are spoilt on the northside I reckon….Umart at Chermside, MSY at Brendale and I have to say for some excellent service and PC Builds at Concorde Computers Strathpine..
yeah the new msy doesn't portray the value incentive like the old website or parts pdf
the new website makes it look expensive and not "special price"

Don't be too hard on yourself, you didn't know. they don't usually have these sales, unlike 20% off sales on eBay lol.
If you bought it with a credit card that includes price protection then you can claim that back.
It actually might not be a band thing to have bought 2 weeks ago. Last time i was trying to hold out for cheaper prices they actually ran out of stock (ultrawide monitor) and so i had to find an alternative model.
Lesson learnt.

I gave up on MSY. I shop at UMart now.
Tried UMart, they never have stock of anything I'm chasing either. Leaves MWave, Scorptec, PCCG or Computer Alliance when they have sales.
10% off MSY prices works out a lot better than the "20% off" eBay jack sales for the components I'm looking at.
No issue's with the guys at MSY WA Balcatta.same for me…was after a 3700x and looks like CA jacked and its the same if I drop by MSY and use the 10%….
Bought numerous times without a problem from Balcatta, and a couple from Cannington when Balcatta had no stock.
Even did a painless warranty swap at Cannington.
Yeah the WA MSY's have always been fine for me, never experienced bad service.
Same here, the WA stores are fine. Some Melbourne & Sydney stores seem to be run by complete pricks.
Got myself the Viewsonic VA2719-2k for $251 which I think is a pretty good price.
how is it? is the font too small at 27@2k?
I have it. Font size is fine (even at 1:1), but panel quality control is so so. Mine developed a dead pixel after 14 days. No freesync support and compared to other 27 inch 2K IPS monitor, this one isn't as sharp I found.
You get what you paid for. It is the cheapest 27 inch 2K monitor for a reason. The ones at work (Dell Ultrasharp 27 inch and Apple 27 inch Displays) are much better.

Was going to buy the MAG271CQR monitor, but looks like they price jacked it from $529 to now $599. Pretty disappointed about this. :(

To be fair not all branches have crap service. The Kingsford one is horrible but I've been going to the Hurstville one and the guys there are awesome. On the upside at least their new website is mobile friendly, the old one was impossible to use as the search function never worked. They still beat IJK imo.
I recall testing them out on Auburn. I bought some RAM, installed it and it did not work so I drove back and asked to upgrade to a better model - so pay more money. They said no. I started to put on a big hissy fit to see what would happen, really turned it on and started to raise my voice (not threaten except Consumer Affairs - the guy gave me their URL!) Guy did not blink and people in the very long queue just looked at me as to say "just shut up please - I want my stuff".
Was very amusing to see but reflected their - "We don't give a sh.t" attitude back then. When I read about their fine a year later I laughed so hard. Was awesome.
Whenever I see CCTV footage of one of those smash 'n' grab gangs on the news targeting JB Hi-Fi and Apple stores, I just think, "Gee wouldn't it be nice if they hit an MSY one day? Especially that branch which denied my warranty claim once"
