        I have signed up for a free month trial using a different email account. I was hoping I would be targeted on my main eBay account for the cheap $1 membership or whatever it was after my 12-month sub expired but was not so did not renew.

        Either way, vince088 is offering an alternative that is cheaper than the deal posted. A lot of people on the 20% off Computer Alliance deal post (the real deal post) have stated that other companies may have slightly cheaper pricing so be sure to check before purchasing from Computer Alliance.

        The way the CA rep worded his responses yesterday in the main sale post made it seem like some pricing on Samsung SSD's would change prior to sale, he did not confirm for me if that was more or less expensive then their current price.

        No way to tell until 10:00 AM hits today and we all see, but I do have a 2TB Samsung EVO Plus in my cart along with two of this 1TB SSD as I am looking to make a new Threadripper build in November.

      Orico are great bang for buck enclosures, black is studier but transparent looks really nice.

          Orico ones are like lottery, you might be lucky and get one which supports TRIM over USB, but can often end up with one that doesn't.

      On paper, 860 Evo specs are better, but that's expected. 860 Evo was released to fight MX500 because MX500 introduced 5 year warranty, forcing Samsung to replace 850 Evo with 860 Evo. Endurance rating also get a bump to compete.

      Realistically, just get the cheaper one.

      The Samsung EVO series is considered to be better 'overall' but in terms of value for money it depends on what you are doing and what the actual dollars are on the day. e.g. if you find a MX500 for $50 cheaper it could be 'better' if you just wanted a boot drive..

      The Samsung has better write performance and overall sustained write throughput.

        Thanks for the info. The reason I ask is I ordered the Crucial 1tb SSD from Amazon 2 days ago for $169 (+ $5.38 cash back) and wondering if I should cancel that order before it's shipped. I think it's too late to cancel and probably not worth the effort since the Samsung is about the same price.

          If you are thinking about it, then check with Amazon CSR to find out whether they can still cancel for you.

          Not sure whether you claimed these Samsung SSD promotion before, you need to open the package, take a photo of the SSD with serial number and also have a photo of the invoice. Also plan for Samsung to take 2 (business days to verify the photos you sent) + 14 (business days) for sending you the game code. It really comes down to whether you want the game or not.

            I bought this Samsung SSD after Amazon chat reassured me the refund will go ahead.

              @JTTheMan: You need to watch out selling digital items, especially on eBay. Generally, if you simply e-mail the code to the buyer, there is zero seller protection. Sending using registered post is better, but the buyer will get annoyed - because buyers buying digital game codes tend to want them right away.

    Thanks OP, snagged one. I didn't really need any of these but I am a fan of the first BL game, the second, not so much. But this will motivate me to finish the second one first before diving into BL3.

    The SSD will be handy for business purposes, not really needed but it's a nice to have. Time to shop for an enclosure, seems like Orico is the way to go as it has more reviews than any product so it gives me assurance that the product is tried and tested.
