  • No borderlands?

    • You wish.

Better spend a bit more and get the 860 Evo, these QVO are bloody awful im performance.

Plus you get Borderlands 3 thrown in, for only $25 more.

    • Maybe you should watch the video you just shared. The performance figures are nearly identical between both the drives. The only difference is that the QVO has a shorter life expectancy and when copying large files, the QVO has a smaller cache, and will limits write speeds when full. How often in daily use do you copy 70gb at once?

Maybe you should watch the Video in FULL, the QVO write speed is awful are certain size of write is reached, which is one of the worse for any SSD.

Depends how much writes you actually do. For most normal users I don't think this will become a major issue especially if there are decent cost savings - which is what I'm looking at in the 4TB range for a Steam drive.

@jace88: Trust me, you don't really need one for most games.

Yeah if you read my comment, i mentioned that. But how often are you going to be writing 70gb at once. It reduced speed when you reach about 40gb

  • I feel like I’m spoilt by the Samsung cash backs previously and now I won’t buy another Samsung SSD unless there’s a decent promotion… in addition to eBay coupons.

    • Yeah but you have impulse bought some of your Samsung drives in the past, ain't nothing gets passed these eyes.

It sucks that the Samsung rebate is not on right now, but it's hardware refresh time for me and with the new Threadripper's coming out in November I bit the bullet and grabbed the storage I want for my new PC build now with this deal.

I am betting that I will not see a better price on the 1TB 860s or 2TB 970 EVO Plus before the release of the CPU and Motherboard I plan to grab in two months.

In before Black Friday Sale is on with better discounts and I am still waiting for my CPU to be shipped from U.S.

Guilty as charged with the 2TB 970 Evo Plus and 1TB 860 Evo… but at least I got cashbacks on them.

At the end of the day though, if you need parts then you need them. No point sitting on all your other stuff hoping to save $10 or $20. Ruins the fun.
