  • Woo hoo, I have now got my tracking details.
    It was sent DHL (Hope it doesnt get stolen!)

    Sucky part is I am away until Tuesday (Leave 6am Friday morning) so wont get it until then!

    Poor service but hey I have saved over $100 or more so I am happy.

    Christine did look after me with a hurry along (Relatively speaking) of my order so thanks to her!

      • DHL is normally pretty quick, just got another update about 30 mins ago:

        Hopefully moving to the sorting centre then customs and on a plane tomorrow! So if your order has been dispatched or gets dispatched first thing tomorrow, there's a decent chance you'll get it by Monday.

        Often people order from HK or Singapore on Friday, posted through DHL or Fedex and get it on Monday… so good luck!

  • Damn, no change in my status yet, hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow morning I will surely see that highly anticipated "shipped" notification in my inbox. HOPEFULLY. I've been patiently waiting for my phone for nearly a month now and finally, just when my patience has been exhausted… was really hoping to receive my phone by the weekend. Oh well, what's a couple more days.

    Also for those who will be amongst the firsts to receive their phones, do you mind updating us on the condition of the phone to reassure the rest of us that this nightmare is finally over e.g. whether or not the seal is broken, the phone is all running fine and if they supplied an aus a/c adapter.   • After being promised in black and white my phone to be shipped Monday arvo HK time, i never received a dispatch email. Waited for NOTHING to come through Tuesday, left a message for manager call back on Wednesday (which after promised a 2nd time, didn't happen) and after calling at 5;25pm yesterday kindly abusing the phone attendant - i eventually said i wouldn't get off the phone until i spoke with the manager who didn't call me back a SECOND time, or until he got off the phone with the HK warehouse to ensure my item was shipped. he said he'd look into it tomorrow morning, i asked why he couldn't do it now…and i quote "Because i have finished work already". Yep, the notion of cusotmer service are basically just 2 words to these pricks. The funny part was around 7-8pm i received my dispatch email.

    Don't let them delay you any further. Spend 25-30c to call these guys and DEMAND your phonre be shipped today. If it isn't don't get off the phone until you speak with Ryan.

    Picked one up locally last week, tested it out and wasn't impressed.
    I liked the screen size but when watching movies, it looks like the contrast has been set to minimal. Also, for a phone that is suppose to be the fastest in it's class, it lagged after extended use.

  • motlking - Turned off auto brightness and tweeked everything to max. Unless there is a contrast setting i've missing, screen is not fun to stare at for extended periods.

    "It has now been a week since you said you will find out what is going on and I have not had a reply since.

      if a phone is faulty from manufacturing defect it will happen within the first 3 mths, 1 year warranty is overrated especially when it doesn't cover physical/water damage.

      In Other news, the office of fair trading called me today.
      Asked a couple of questions but basically said that its a long time for them to have held your money and it is a lot of money. I said they have started shipping them but mine is yet to be shipped. They escalated it to a complaint and were going to contact them today. Haven't heard back yet, props to them though for picking it up so quickly.

    • I think OFT will just need to be referred to this forum to appreciate the level of unnecessary difficulty that ShoppingSquare has put its customers through.

      What is unforgivable is the constant lies ShoppingSquare has told. Literally, lie after lie, they have no shame. They have been telling lies just so they get people to stop emailing them or to get them off the phone. It is this unethical conduct that could get them in trouble with OFT. Having said that, given that they offered a refund at the beginning, it's hard to see ShoppingSquare get more than a slap on its wrist and have its name marked in the book.

      What will punish ShoppingSquare are the consumers. As far as we're concerned, they've effectively ruined their reputation and nullified their hard work in building their brand over the years. So the next time they try to offload their cheap SD cards, they would need to heavily discount if they want to sell at levels in the past. The loss of reputation won't ruin ShoppingSquare (after all, how many people outside OZB know about this?) but it will create a noticeable dent in their bottom line.

        OK, don't want anyone to get a shocker or anything but its a Hong Kong version and was pre-installed with Chinese characters, if you are NEW to android, on first setup just keep pressing the bottom right button to skip through and don't worry about the chinese characters. You can sign in or create a Google account from here it will be written in plain English

        Once you're into the familiar touchwiz homescreen, press the left button for menu and tap on the bottom right with the picture of a gear for settings. In settings screen browse down till you see an icon with capital A which is the settings for Language and Keyboard. Inside this menu tap on the first selection and select English (United Kingdom) and ok.
        In the main Language menu again you will see Keyboard settings, tap on the first selection "Select input" and tap on Samsung keypad and OK.

        Now you're all set.

      • yes download mode has been redone with a warning sign and an option to cancel or continue, basically just lets you know custom OS can cause major problems etc etc

        the current version is XXKG1 2.3.3 and I believe KG2 is out in the wild

    I called and complained Wednesday 5.30pm, received shipment email atound 8pm that night, received my phone about 1 hour ago - DHL are terrific, better than FedEx from my experiences…so ONCE i again, i suggest you call and complain (0296663055)…it's the least you and they deserve. I ahave no doubt in my mind if you paid $473 for the item, you're among the last to be shipped, you sohuld've been told about shipment Monday or Tuesday, If you want ammunition when you call; read the laast 10 pages on here…

    somehow I still don't believe them.

  • Mine was attempted delivery today but im in Qld until Monday afternoon so will pick up on Tuesday. Would have swapped with someone else and had delivery on Tuesday. But it didn't happen that way!
