  • Ordered and paid for two of these on the 11th July, order status still not updated. I ended up cancelling one of my orders last Thursday, got the refund today. However, because it was purchased with two different credit cards. They ended up refunding to the incorrect credit card. This is just one more reason to add to their incompetance list.

    I've waited the three weeks I agreed to wait and nothing has changed and I have received no further notifications of my delivery. I sent SS a letter of demand with a date for delivery and requesting a refund of the Delivery and Handling fee ($49). I believe this is an acceptable compromise for me.
    Will see what they have to say.

    • That's a good idea demanding a refund for shipping.
      Let me know how you go and i may follow suit.

      That said, once i started "demanding" things they stopped responding.

    • I'd say that's fair too. your next step should be passing on to FTO and write the same thing on the 'result you want' section.

      I think whether they've sent the phone to you or not, file a complaint to FTO is a must. If business practice like this can get away, others will follow.

  • Apparently they didn't make all the orders in time for Friday, and they worked overtime on Saturday to fill orders, and it will be dispatched today… <_<

    Here's hoping they eventually come through.

      I called them, and got Christine, and she said she'll mark my order as "Urgent". Whether that will achieve anything is questionable.

      I said if my phone is not shipped by tonight, I will file a complaint with the OFT, she said fine but "we did inform you". To which I replied saying you informed me that it would be shipped by the first week of August, which hasn't happened, and that you were out of stock, but clearly ebay customers were receiving stock. And she said "I can't comment about that".

      She then explained that they've been inundated with orders, to which I replied: that doesn't fly, cos you're still taking orders, and have been taking orders throughout July, without filling mine. She didn't have a comment for that either.

      I might just complain to OFT anyway.

        I have given up on chasing them for an update! just same old crap response from them! just a waste of time!!! I have filed a complaint to OFT. There is no point to wait any longer.

        mine still states paid and i called them again today with an identical excuse stating they will be sent today (which they said daily last week) so who the fuck knows

        i really hope people here remember this shit and bomb every deal that comes up on ozbargain from this company

      • I'd love mine put on "Urgent" too but seriously, no order should need to be marked urgent because they should ALL be shipped already! ALTOGETHER! Or if they are gonna prioritise, then go by order of date/time purchased. The fact that yours is now marked urgent implies there are some that are marked "unurgent"…sigh.

    Those who haven't got their phones yet are losing out, the market value of the phone is falling below $600 now.

    • Until the market value drops below $523 (That's $520 + $3 of interest.) we haven't 'lost out'.

      I'm more worried about the market value of my current phone.

      You could easily sell it for a $150 profit a week ago, now it's looking like only a $50 profit, that's a loss (of a profit) isn't it?

    This is insane! I gave them a call in the morning asking for tracking number and they said "the phone was dispatched on saturday and it takes a few hours for HK office to update it". I gave them another call in the afternoon and they said "The phone was dispatched on Saturday but DHL didn't picked it up because they don't work during the weekend. They have picked it up today and we are waiting for them to get the tracking number back to us". Then I asked how long it would take and she said "3-4 working days. You know DHL is a bit slow. They are crap. No, No. I don't really mean they are crap.. They just a bit slow. You should get it by Thursday."

    Hell No. Can we trust them at all? SS is really full of crap.. No, no I mean, they are crap itself…

    I want my xxxxing postage and handling fee back!!!

    • did they confirm that DHL is shipping today? if they did then you should get it as early as tomorrow morning depending on which state you're in. For melbournians should be within 24 hrs just like an express post.

      getting a valid tracking no. from them is pointless, I was given a bogus no. and was told it would update itself within 24 hrs (this is a lie, the tracking no. should work immediately).

      I just got mine, you plug the one in the box into the adapter supplied. It fits quite snug and looks good.
      Oh, and the SG SII looks pretty too :P

  • Submitted my complaint to OFT. Lets hope they do something about it.

    • Yes, I reckon we all should complain to OFT. I have! We all have had enough of false promises. Personally I rather them be honest and telling us that they have not got the phones and it would take xx days to deliver, and stick with it. We have wasted so much time chasing them up and keep on hoping that they ship the phone 'today or tomorrow' like what they advised us. They said " we have finally received the phones and we will be dispatching the phones starting today" on July 28. Does it take more than 10 working days to pack and ship the phones??? (they said they work on Saturday)

      If we don't complain, SS will get away with it and probably do the same thing again to their other/future buyers.

  • I called again, was told my order is now on 'priority', and should be dispatched in the next couple of days!! We'll see about that.
    NEVER NEVER AGAIN SS!!! This is not how you run a business. I was told end of July, then last Friday and then next couple of day for dispatching!!!
    I already filed a case with OFT and I recommend all to do the same. I hope OFT at least give them the run around.

      If your on "priority" and that is the next couple of days, then when the hell will the rest of us get it dispatched??

      What does filing a case with the OFT do for us exactly? will we get any money back? or is it just to warn others of not buying there? Or do they talk to SS on our behalf?

      After Christine kept on telling me 'today or tomorrow'. I asked her last Friday that I needed to know EXACTLY when my phone will be dispatched . she said "Your phone should be dispatched this afternoon". Guess what? nothing has happened since

      • Latest Google maps has a offline cache now, just click the button and designate a large viewport. (It caches the area for you.)

  • I made my order early on the morning of 12 July, dunno how many people are in front of me. I've just been told that it will be dispatched in 1-2 working days by DHL from Hong Kong and then 3-7 working days for delivery.

    Liar! I was told yesterday that the phone was dispatched on Saturday. I called again today and the order is back to dispatching and it should be dispatched in the next a day or two. Fucking liar!

    • They are horrible at estimating their processing time.

      It would be more effective just to tell the truth and avoid 9000 support cases.

      If they told me it was going to be dispatched on Tuesday in a weeks time, and I knew for certain it would, I wouldn't care. (That being said, we all want it earlier!)

    It's obvious whats happening now.
    First they got an over-order of a mis-priced item.
    Now they're trying to minimize these orders by slowly drip feeding us 1 phone at a time.
    Hoping by doing this, most of us will cancel the order.
    They obviously have stock as ebay orders at full price are being filled with speed.

    • I think they are waiting for the price to drop so they can get cheaper deal from their supplier before fulfilling our orders. It's been 30 days! How many people have received their phones?

      • My phone has just arrived in Sydney this morning, expecting to get it sometime this arvo. I got the dispatch notice on Saturday but dhl only started processing it yesterday from hk. I'll keep you guys notified about the phone and it's condition once I receive it later today.

        it's currently still $100 under market value

        so the only reason you'd quit is if you A) ran out of patience or B) ran out of cash to pay the bills. neither of those cases entails a "thank god" moment

  • Just rang and spoke to them. They advised that 80% of orders have been despatched and I should get a despatch note either today or at the latest tomorrow.

    Mine was ordered and paid on the 12/07. Well fingers crossed.

    I've filed complaint to FTO last week. Wondering if I file complaint to Paypal that I haven't received the goods, will that do anything?

    Maybe when you have confirmation of shipping, lodge a complaint with PayPal. PayPal will then freeze the money from seller's account until dispute is settled. If everyone does this we can have a bit of a protest going on. We'll agree to drop the dispute when we get the phone…or maybe the day after. Wait, maybe the day after that. Or the week after that. Hm, maybe next month instead.

      This was my letter (edited slightly). It requires you to enter your order number, BPAY Customer Ref. number and Payment Reference number (available from your 'My Orders' section on the SS website).

      Hi Christine,
      As per your correspondence, it's now been a full three weeks since you notified me of the delay and four weeks since I originally placed and paid for my order (order# ). I still have not received my goods.

      This is now unacceptable. As a result, please ensure a refund the Delivery & Handling fee of $49.00 and delivery of my order by COB, Friday, 12 August 2011. If I do not receive this I will be forced to take further action in the NSW Courts, through the Office of Fair Trading and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

      Further action may also be undertaken with Paypal and or my credit card company to put a hold on or reverse the payment until such time as I have received the goods.

    You know, I love how they are putting the people that call on "Priority". Because does anyone remember this?

    after i complain to them many times AND after Office of Fair Trading spoke to them

    YES the office of fair trading did contact them and then OFT called me !

    so you guys, i really encourage you all to bring it up to OFT ! they said they are leaving note on my case that ill get the phone

    so keep reporting ! put them in real mess !!!!

    As soon as I have DHL tracking numbers for my phones I am going to make paypal disputes for them and make complaints with fair trading, I don't want to delay my order even more but I will give them some of their own medicine - and if there are lots of similar complaints with paypal and fair trading, they will do something so I urge everyone else to do the same irrespective of whether you already received, SS deserve to suffer for this.

    • I would not recommend this. It'll only result in you getting banned from Paypal, as shoppingsquare will show proof of delivery, and will be able to claim the amount easily.

      I suggest you follow through with the complaint to OFT, and leave it at that. As long as they get investigated, and possibly reprimanded, I think we'll achieve a fair result out of this whole debacle.

      • Of course I am not taking their money, I will close the dispute if it doesn't get closed by paypal, I just want it on record with paypal that they took over a month to deliver while selling the same item on ebay for a higher price.

        And you don't get banned form paypal for opening a dispute.

        • I just want to make them sweat a bit since paypal will block the money once I open a dispute. Love to have them trying to contact me to close the dispute.

    I got an email from SS stating that the order has been dispatched. I kept nagging them two days constantly and they didnt reply to my emails, but now i recieved the dispatch email. Got a tracking number from them.. waiting for the order to arrive.
