      • techrific is selling it for only $604. free shipping(5 days……) and free return shipping within 1 year for warranty.. I wish I didn't buy from this damm shopping square which is really a pain on my ass now..

        • Actually, techrific has 'hidden' costs. The $604.00 listing has an $80 compulsory charge on premium packaging, and the $649.00 listing has a $30 compulsory charge on shipping insurance, so still ~$160 difference.

        • You are still saving $84 in the worst case, and according to a reply to your post you are actually saving $160.

          Not to mention you can still refund it. (Not to mention you could easily sell the phone for $550 new once you get it.)

      They haven't sent any yet, they said they will be sending it out this week. (or early next week)

    Calm down people, if you can't wait a week you wouldn't have waited a month already.

    They are late because it was a MISTAKE that let you order so many units, when in fact if they had the system limit the stock correctly most of you would not have been able to make orders.

    They chose to honour both the price and the excess of orders, and offered refunds for anyone who didn't want to wait. (You could have exercised that option a month ago.)

    You clearly don't IMMEDIATELY need a phone, because you would have been without one for a month, but sure maybe someone's waiting to buy yours. Explain the situation to them and they'll be fine with it.

    Yes, making us wait this long is dodgy, but if you were them you would not have honoured the sale of 5x stock at below cost price to your consumers, so really you can't complain.

    I've waited a month, and I'll wait another, I really don't care because it's $300 cheaper than everyone else is paying for one outright at retail, and $150 cheaper than anywhere on the Internet still.

    If you can't wait any longer, demand a refund, who knows they might have already sent your phone. (…and THAT'S the worst case.)

      dude we are all just venting. the issue is that they keep on saying they are ready to go and they just dont contact us. i mean, apart from this website i have no received one iota of info from them to explain the delay.

      • Nah I feel the same way, but you chose to sit tight, so sit tight!

        Also spam them with support tickets or ring them up if you want more info. (I agree though the fact that they did not take the initiative to send us information once in the past month is incredibly dodgy.)

      • It seems like they are receiving small amounts to sell on eBay from their original supplier, and are waiting for 1000+ units to ship the store orders.

        The obvious reason is you can't leave negative feedback on the store that affects them.

    well, it's Wednesday, and nothing from SS.
    I won't cancel my order, I think that's making it too easy for them.
    Very poor service SS! I wouldn't even count the number of potential customers you've lost in this saga.

        Agree, we should make official complaint against SS on principle, SS need to learn how to treat their customers with respect. It’s more than 3 weeks and they have not been in contact with each of the buyers individually about the orders. The only email they sent out which was not personalised asking buyers to log in to their website to be able to view the generic ticket created by themselves. They should have sent a personalised email to each of us in good faith, "Dear Mr/Ms ABC…."

        This is unacceptable. The deal was good but it was their decision to sell the phone at that price, after all $522 is not a small amount of money, they can’t just take the money and then ignore the customers

        Anyone here had any experience with lodging a complaint?

    • ok gave a call, it seems they have dispatched some phones to 11 july orders, some peeps must have gotten the notice but have not bothered to report back here perhaps?

        you can call them anytime they are happy to talk about this past deal, they do sound like they're working their butts off to fulfill 600+ orders so I'll take their word till the end of this week for the dispatch notice…

    i was ok with the wait at first as it was cheap and if they had oversold it well fair enough their mistake and they would honour it once they got their next shipment.

    The fact that they are still selling and delivering to ebay customers who've purchased well after the 11th July has just pissed me right off. Then you enquire as to why this is happening and get a stock standard copy and paste response. wtf!?

    Who seriously operates a business like that?

          So let's see:
          They claimed to have dispatched 150 phones originally, yet noone on here received one.
          They claimed they didn't have any stock, meanwhile ebay customers continued to receive their phones.
          They claimed to have received stock on the 28th and to be in the process of dispatching them, yet noone received a dispatch notice.
          They now claim to have received stock yesterday.

        • on Thursday 28th Christine from SS replied to some tickets:

          "We have finally received the stock in so so will be processing and dispatching order starting today.

    I just got off the phone to the ACCC.
    What they have said is that ShoppingSquare have violated our Consumer Rights because they have failed to provide a service within a reasonable amount of time. see - http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/961897

    What they advised is that we/I should contact them (which we have already done), If they do not respond then write a letter of demand to the company. See - http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815324

    If, after the date has passed which you set in the letter of demand, ShoppingSquare have not responded or the issue persists we then contact the Office of Fair Trading for the state the Company is located, in this case NSW.

    At which point the Office of Fair Trading will get involved.

    SO! despite what is written above me, i have no reason to trust ShoppingSwuare so i will be writting a letter of demand to them this evening. I will give them 1 week to rectify the issue.

      What's the best case scenario if the OFT gets involved? I would hope it's not just getting the refund! Would hope there's some scenario where I can still get my phone, AND they get some kind of fine or something :P

      Well despite what i said, i called the Office of Fair Trading to ask their opinion. I told them about the email i already sent them on the 01/08/2011 and they said that is sufficient and i did not need to do a letter of demand. I then asked whether i should wait till the date i specified (05/08/2011) passes or log it now.
      They said log it now to at least get it in the system and if it resolved then great and i can close the ticket.

      so i just submitted a complaint to the Office of Fair trading.

    I just missed a parcel… unless it was an HP microserver, it must have been the phone!

        • mainly because:

          1) i don't have any other parcels incoming, and
          2) i don't trust shoppingsquare's ability to send me an email since they're probably too busy serving all their ebay customers

      and no you're not being naive, they don't deny/ignore anyone's phone calls regarding this deal (yet) and have consistenly said this week will be dispatched, there is just no confirmation on exactly which day and time that the courier will pick it up.

    OK I'm being blatantly lied to. I rang this morning to ask when it'll be shipped, was told this afternoon. I rang again in the afternoon and was told it will be done sometime this week or early next week! WTF!

    I've lodged a complaint with Office of Fair Trading

    • Why - they told you within a week after ordering it would be two or three weeks before stock arrived and delivery would be 1-2 days after that. And they offered you a refund if you didn't like it. Did you take up their offer of a refund… No???

      Well suck it up and accept that it might take another week.

    I ordered at 9pm on the dot on the 11th of July

    Hopefully it gets dispatched asap… from my previous orders with them there's one final stage "Order dispatched"… normally 3 hours after "Dispatch in process"

    Oh well… can't say I'm too happy with the process but hey still the best price around…
