Finally signed up to this deal. Noticed that it is over 6 months since it's been posted so posting it again for those who weren't aware. Impressed with the service so far.

Google has finally launched Youtube Premium in India for INR 129(AUD ~2.60) and Family Membership for INR 189 (AUD ~3.80).
Comes with Youtube Music, No Ads in Youtube as well as Google Play Music.

Again, the trick to making this work is having access to a VPN service. If you're signed up to one then the rest of the process should be fairly simple.

    I'm having issues with this.

    I've signed up for the family account with a dummy. It's working fine (thanks!).

    The issue comes up when I try to add my existing, normal accounts to the family.

    I've added a new payment profile (here - https://pay.google.com/#settings) and switched to them on both the existing accounts.

    However, whenever I try to accept the invitation, I still get the stupid "Looks like you're in a different country" problem. I'm connected via VPN (NordVPN).

    Help me, OzBargain!

        Big time mate…I have tried doing all the tantrums (from changing the payment profile to changing the country location to india and still getting the stupid Error “ Looks like you're in a different country‘“ when adding family members to family group not sure how this could be sorted out. May be ozbargain Op can help with this.

          My workaround right now is to create extra accounts for me and my wife that I then use to log into youtube and music. With just a single payment profile they are working fine.

          My hunch is that the original profile is somehow messing with the system, even though it isn't currently selected.

        May have to delete the original payment method as it looks linked to everything. But you lose all good credit etc if u have it.

            Because when i tried to add another Australian payment method to the india account i got invalid payment error.

              Go to https://pay.google.com/
              Make sure ur in the indian one
              Select Settings
              select country/region
              it will say Create new profile

              Create one with ur aussie details.

      GPM keeps wanting me to subscribe.
      When I hit the subscribe button, it just returns to the main screen.

          OK it's working now….

          All I did was open up GPM in chrome web browser, searched a song I liked and added it to my Library.

          On Android I can access all the music, however it still shows I'm on the GPM Free subscription under account settings. :/

      you can simply install the chrome youtube adblocker extension for free and it blocks all ads. thats why i am debating if this is worth it.

    My subscription expires 29th of October. I thought I would have to wait until then to tke up this offer, but no. I just clicked renew after using tunnelbear and it worked perfect. I just had to change the first line of the address to something that sounds like an actual address. Thanks, even more money saved each month now.

    Not sure if this has been asked yet or not, but for someone like me who wants to use this to download and avoid ads on youtube while still watching the channels that i watch, would the best way to do that be making a new account and resubscribing to all of the channels i watch.
    Also because i am new to this kind of thing, how long does this go on for, is it forever or just for a year.
    And can i use a Load&Go card from the post office for it

    • There are free browser plugins that block youtube ads.

    a) For Chrome: "Adblock for youtube 5.0.9".
    b) For Firefox: "AdBlocker for youtube 0.3.2".

    (The version number is there just to make it easier to pinpoint during a search.)

    Those kill the ads that interrupt video. But in some cases you still see the banner ad type while video plays. So install other general web ad blockers to kill those too. e.g. In Firefox I use: "Adaware Ad Block" and "Imageblock 5.0"; and in Chrome: "Adblock Plus - free ad blocker 3.6.3".

    • For music: Radio, CDs, LPs (for strange bearded hipsters), internet radio, send the wife/kids for singing lessons for those long school holiday drives, etc.

    This is even cheaper ($0) and you have the satisfaction of knowing your money isn't going to nasty individuals who take advertiser's money but then selfishly keep it for themselves because some youtubers make videos they personally don't like, the same people who now want to 'have a discussion with parents' and kill babies AFTER birth, and hate a president they've whined for for decades who actually does what he says and lifts citizens out of poverty and the inter-generational welfare cycle by creating jobs (instead of destroying them like the last few), and bypasses the lame/lying/fake-stream media to tell citizens the truth directly. (All of which threatens their deranged little cabal and nullifies their brainwashing propaganda.)

      i use family account to share with my wife, 2 kids and 2 tv accounts.
      Individual only 1 ID

        I changed all of them to India. but someone mentioned above you can create a australian payment profile in the main "throw away" account so the rest of the family can use AU address. I haven't figured out how to create a new payment profile. the payment profile is different from payment method apparently.

    I signed up a month ago using the Indian address and linking my AU Credit Card. As the first month is free it's been great. But then today I get an email from Google saying there is a problem with my payment. I went into my account and the credit card there is fine, but it won't accept the payment. So then I added my 28 degrees CC which is great for being accepted overseas, and it to is rejected. Any ideas?

    I was in the middle of a YT Premium trial as a single user.

    Cancelled and signed up with the same google account via TB VPN for the family plan.

    Now being charged INR60/month till mid December (prorated for Oct), then INR189. Perhaps the INR60 is the family plan component until my original trail expires, then it's onward with the full INR family fee.

    Made new Gmail account.
    (VPN: on) youtube.com
    Signed up for family plan (1mnth free trial), Macquarie Card, random address in Mumbai from Google Maps.
    Add new payment profile with AUS address, no payment detail changes.
    (VPN: Off)
    Invited main account.
    Tested on main account, all working, yes there is some bollywood music, clips appearing.
    But 99% of it is filtered based on my previous views and subs.

        Creating a new payment profile is to add AUS family members.
        The manager account is still address in India.

        That way the family members don't need to change anything at all.
