  • Thanks a lot~~~

Ugh, It's not designed for iPad at all. Plays in that stupid compatibility mode.

    • +3

JB + retina pad = win!

      • +1

Sorry about that SuBw00FeR. We will have the iPad version after the Android version comes out. Hope it won't be that long.

        • +2

Awesome. Today is my last day on iOS. Will wait for it on Android.

        • +2

i just got my sgs2 today. cool!

      • +1

Isn't retina pad paid for? I think that's the reason I didn't get because when iOS5 comes out, I'll be upgrading and therefore lose the JB.

  • Good app, it did crash though the first time when I opened and click Sydney.

I notice with OzBargain it only lists the new deals as they come out. Does it also give the popular deals for OzB?

    • Thanks aurotaro. I hope the app works better now.

Currently it does not get the votes for each deal. We do get a few request for this.

Target 1st release of the Android app is end of August. Please stick with iOS for a while =)

      • tooooo lateeeee!

SGS2 has changed the ball game.

        loving my sgs2 =)

I'll give you a positive vote once the android app comes out without ads for free for a limited time =D

    • Crashed for me too when I selected Melbourne. It said something like "saving" for a split second before it abruptly closed. Reopening took me to the Filter screen.

  • it also doesn't seem to show all the deals, and shows some in the wrong order ?

As this app is always free, and we need to be consistent, then it belongs in the forums.

    • +6

Title says free for a limited time?

    • +5

If it is always free then why would there be a regular and plus+ version?!

      • +5

Hi ozpete.. this App is only free until 17/07. After that it will go back to it's original price.

We do have another free app with ads.

    • opps missed that - anyone got a deal on new specs?

Guess it was wise to leave it until I got some reaction - thanks

BTW thanks for the comments - those who voted down my post, which I am not complaining about, just keep in mind a comment tells you something, while the vote down does says you dont like the idea etc, but I have no reason why.

And if it gets hidden quickly no one else could give an explanation as they wouldn't see what was being proposed. A better strategy is the voting up of the others comments.

      :)

Then code the site to not allow downvotes on comments, unless a Reply has already been made to the comment itself. Continue to allow upvotes without comments.

If the site worked that way, it would meet your requirements.

We've been complaining about this forever pete, its annoying when it happens to yourself isn't it?

  • I am probably missing something, but what is the dif bet the two apps ?

    • +1

      One has ads, one doesn't

  • +3

What's the original price for this app?

Also I think you need to rename them to 'BargainDesk Plus' and 'BargainDesk Free'. Its very confusing to try and find out which version is better & why, simply adding ".com.au" makes it sound like the other one is international. There's not even a description of your current promotion on the itunes page either

    • +2

ozbargain app should be FREEEEEE lol

    • Thanks backslashio. I've updated the description as suggested.Original price was $2.49

As for the name, Apple requires us to delete the app and resubmit the new app. Something we are reluctant to do since current users will missed out on future update notifications.

      • Its a shame nobody picked up on it before you submitted :P I think you should also make it clear in the iTunes description of the differences of both apps on both pages

    Thanks for making this!

Any plans for an android version?

    • +1

      and will it be free?

    • I'd love too,lol

    • +3

Yes. We have started development earlier this week.

There will be a free version too.

Any features you would like us to include? or any features you have seen from other apps that you would like us to implement too?

      • Hot bargain notification and perhaps some type of tagging recognition so we could be alerted if something that may be of interest to us is posted?

        • I like the sound of alerts, something to tell you when a new deal gets over X votes etc. Keep up the good work :)

Awesome! Downloaded the app for my iPod Touch 2nd gen.

  • Good aggregator & nice interface :)

  • really nice app.. <3

  • How much data does this app use? I found the desktop app seemed to be continually connecting and sucking down data when it sat in the system tray.

    • Hi Stix, the iOS app uses very minimal bandwidth. It does not do any auto refresh so you wouldn't be downloading new deals unless you tap on the Refresh buttons.

As for the desktop app, it has an auto refresh setting (used for notification of new deals) which can be changed to a max of 120 minutes. Or you can turn of notification to stop downloading new deals when docked.

Alternatively, you could use our new website if you would like to view the latest group buying and daily deals from your PC/Mac.

  • Good news guys, it won't actually go to 2.49! We've been pulled in line with the US store at least a lot more closely; this will become a 1.99 app (finally). More expensive stuff has a slight increase in price vs. the US store, but they're nowhere near as high as they were. Woot!
