Decent price for EA Sports Active 2.

Yeah I know Medal of Honor was not awesomeness, but I thought the campaign was ok.

  • how long does it usually take to arrive?

    • Zavvi is normally up to 10 working days in my experience.

      • usually somewhere between 2-3 weeks for me

  • $30 for Sports Active 2 on PS3 at Dick Smith for those who can't wait and can find stock, also the stock locater on DS's website is inaccurate. Best bet is to ring the store and check.

  • Is active 2 any good on ps3 compred to kinect version?

    • (from earlier post)- I have the PS3 version, few gripes… even though it says 2 player on the box, you actually need 2 sets of trackers and HR monitor to use 2 player mode (the box only comes with one set), you can not create 2 profiles, therefore you can not work out and hand over the sensors etc. to your partner for them to work out. Unless you don't mind them using your profile and credit their workout to your progress etc. We found this bit annoying.
I would really not recommend it, this may be the reason why they are so cheap!
Also it uses up one of your USB ports for the receiver (HR), as all PS3 owners know, the USB ports are at a premium, we only have two, I use one permanently for my PlayTV.
It was originally a Nint. Wii title, so it may work better with the Wii. From memory the Wii box boasts that the Active 1 is the #1 exercise title for the Wii, I'm guessing this means it sold better than Wii Fit!?.
Anyone out there know about the 360 version? all I known is that you have to have the Kinect, it doesn't use/need a receiver for the heart rate monitor and issues with floor exercises.
Hardware wise you get alot more on the Ps3 version for the same price.
PS3-HR monitor & receiver, two tracking straps (legs-comfortable enough), resistance band and disc of course.
360-HR monitor, resistance band and disc.

      • Get yourself a USB hub and you should get an extra 4 ports or 8. It works and I use it all the time for my PS3. They are only around $8 each at HN

        • got one (four port), some peripherals don't work with the USB hub for some reason. I dont recall if it's the Play TV or the Singstar mics. It may be that the hub doesn't provide them with enough juice (?), but it may well be the active 2 receiver that only likes to be directly plugged in. I use any of them on my MacBP without any problems!
