dont see any switch version on bigw site

    • Xbox and PS4 cleared out cheap a while ago, the Switch one is the best seller and therefore Big W kept its price up.

  • And this digital version contains a lot of DLC not in the physical starter pack

for the standard? or deluxe? which cost almost twice as much.

      • +2

Standard has two extra ships, deluxe has 4, but do note that Starfox is not included in either pack

        • The deluxe adds one ship, two pilots, and three weapons over the standard. As for Starfox? I'm not sure what you mean by that; they're two different franchises? However, Fox McCloud and the Arwing are included in both digital options as well as in the physical release.

      • Standard

      • Both digital versions contain DLC not included in the physical 'toys-to-life' starter kits. This includes things like weapons, pilots, and battleships; all of which impact upon gameplay. In order to get the same content contained in the digital (standard or deluxe versions) with the physical starter kit, you'd be looking at quite a lot more. Overall, the best value-for-money option in this circumstance is the digital deluxe package and $45 is quite a good price imho. Check this link for more details.

I quite enjoyed flying around, shame it's such a shallow game doing the same thing over and over.

    • Most games are repetitive but I have to agree, this doesn't do a great job of hiding it at times.

  • I picked this up when BigW dropped their price. It's been a great introduction game for my kids. If they get too far from the lead ship, they teleport back.

Free Lego Batman soon after has been a plus too.

If you're getting it, gotta get the deluxe version, I mean $15, doesn't matter if you like the game or not, if you think you will, $15 vs however much it costs later

  • Is the Switch exclusive content worth it, or should I just pick it up on PC?

    • +1

That really depends on whether or not you're a fan of Nintendo's Star Fox franchise. Obviously the DLC provides more pilots, spacecraft, and weapons, but if you're not keen on the franchise and/or invested in it in the past then it's probably not worth the price difference imho.

      • Being a fan of Star Fox from back in the day it was the only reason I looked at this game. Having played it I would not recommend it to anyone other than SF fans as the rest of the game is uninspiring and repetive whereas the SF content was really well put together. There's a visual tradeoff with the Switch version but it was worth it, the sales numbers probably will back that up. I believe the Switch version was by far the most popular.
