Wow, that is not a great review, although not the worst I've seen by any means.

This is wide-gamut monitor with no ability to receive wide-gamut input, which means it's just saturating the colours in the image for a standard effect. Between that and the 27" FHD panel, this is not worth your time, IPS or not.

  • very good monitor spec at this price!

  • If you're just after a basic monitor for a home office setup - would this do the trick?

Probably overkill. You won't need the large srgb range or the 75hz. For office usage id go for a budget 1440p monitor if you want 27".

If you're going to be using it for long periods, keep in mind the height. Fixed height is ok, just prop it up on some books or something to get the right height.

      • Thanks mate - any examples of cheaper monitors?

        • I must admit I can't find the previous sale I was thinking of. I thought it was $240 for a 27" QHD…but it I can't find it now.

There don't appear to be any good sale prices on 27" QHD panels I could find for a quick search. Not sure how urgent this is.

  • Shipping is 41.23 AUD to WA :(

  • resolution not very good for 27"

  • Good for photo editing?

    • Not really, with that low PPI and bad (for professional photo editing) colour gamut. It doesn't even cover 100% of sRGB and only hits 78.6% of DCI-P3 according to the review in the description.

      • Thanks. I thought was 124%. What would be your suggestion for a decent monitor for that purpose?

Honestly, no idea. I am no monitor connoisseur. I've owned Dell's U2417H in the past and they're known to be decent cause they come calibrated from the factory and even include a calibration report.

So, not exactly a recommendation but I found the U2417H to be pretty good, and it was noticeably better than the P2419HC that I switched to later. So, try for an Ultrasharp (starts with a U) if you end up going with a Dell. This is only if you're not looking to play any games.

U2419HC is $300 right now at Dell's outlet store in 'As New' condition or $344 on eBay Brand New.

            @[Deactivated]: Thanks a lot!

          • @[Deactivated]: sorry another question :) do you use the above monitor with lightroom or photoshop?
(I'm not interested in games at all)

@ets27: I have used a few times but no, it's not something I do often enough to notice a difference.
