    I figured as much..

  • +5

Do they give out sample bags? (Knowing my luck I'd get bag of di**s….)

    • +1

      Condoms

      • +14

        Meh, I've already got one.

        • +2

I do hope you're washing between uses at least.

          • +12

            @ashanrath: Uses? I thought it was a wallet accessory…

            • +1

              @Salmando: it is indeed.

        • What, I thought it was bubble gum.
No wonder when I blew bubbles people were looking at me..

    • -1

      Nice reference. 😎

    • Went to the Bris one while on a bucks weekend, we were given a goodies bag with bottle openers and such with myfreecams branded on it.

There’s plenty of people trying to sell you stuff or you can just sit down with a beer and enjoy the on stage entertainment

  • +1

If the sex is guaranteed I'm in.

    • +33

      Don't judge.

      Your thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/274876

Also you clearly have never been to one. I go with my partner every year and my impression is females out-number men.

        • +9

I think he summarized it pretty succinctly with two words, "Don't judge".

Throwing stones from a glass house is all the more foolhardy when you've previously spent at least three years living in a dark, lonely well…

        • +4

Just because my partner is a prostitute doesn't mean she's acting as a prostitute when we're there, not that i've ever been to one, or have any real inclination to attend one.

      • +5

        Best reply ever!

And you just had to go back three years to see the judgemental gentleman acting like a desperate lonely guy himself.

It's interesting how he cannot even see how judgemental he is, and keeps repeating. He might need another three years to learn something about that.

    • +3

I feel you're completely missing the point of the expo

    • +6

I don't know a single single male who goes to these, always couples or single females with female friends.

I've yet to go, but seems to be more about spicing up your sex life with your partner than a haven for creepy lonely guys

    • +12

Place for creepy, desperate lonely guys lol

Sounds like the perfect place for you.

    • +3

Really? Vanilla sex gets boring, you need to spice things up. Kinda reveals to us the state of your sex life.

    • Sounds like a mandatory visit for most OB types.

    • You'd fit right in then with all your other incel bros

  • +1

    audience participation competitions

    I'm definitely COMING then

  • Should have been Buy one, get one free.

    • Buy one, get syphilis.

Surprise this post hasn't been removed yet considering ozbargain stand on similar issues

      We live in modern times…

Most of the mods aren't that prudish.

    • These have been posted for the last 11 years. Not sure what "stance" you are alluding to but you can see banned items, Deal Posting Guidelines etc in the Help located at the bottom of every page.

      • -3

Well, what's happening inside this expo isn't far off from promoting prostitution and no one blink an eye but funnily certain sex related stuff get banned from posting here. I don't have problems with this post, sex toys or even ammunition post but find the guidelines a bit arbitrary indeed.

        • +2

Last i went i saw very little promotion of prostitution.
Literally the only thing was a brothel offering free passes for couples to come in, tour the place and use one of the rooms.
This took up about 30 seconds of 3 hours worth of health, lifestyle, sexuality and toy exhibits.

So whilst i won't go as far as to say they aren't promoting prostitution, the promotion of such is only a very very tiny part of it.

        • "Promoting prostitution"

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. It's obvious you've never been to one. You'd do well to keep your ignorance to yourself.

    • +3

Surprise this post hasn't been removed yet considering ozbargain stand on similar issues

You promoting sex with this condom deal; no issues with either deal

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/296067

      • -3

That post was intended for loving hetero-normal married couples seeking to avoid pregnancy, not for weekly visits to the brothel.

      • -1

Mate, there's nothing wrong with that, no need to dig out old thread. Sounds likeyyou have problems with married couples using condom for contraception because it's a sin.

        • +2

Oh there's absolutely a need to dig up your old thread because it exposes your hypocrisy for all to see.
There's nothing "wrong" with this expo either, except in your narrow-minded little bubble

        • Hypocritical moron.

    • there is a sex convention in the heart of a city yet it is unethical to post about it on a website. lol/

  • Don't waste the mods' time reporting the deal as illegal/inappropriate.

It is not and similar deals about this event get posted each year.

    • +1

      Reported for wasting my time.

  • +10

Finally a chance to put some of my eneloops to work.

Don't suppose they offer any stackable cashbacks?

  • +2

Waiting for my local brothel to accept afterpay

    • +1

Just ask them if you can pay the rest off after leaving a small deposit

  • +3

Worth it for the chance to meet Johnny Sins and Jessica Drake.

  • I've always wanted to go to one in Quagmire cosplay, giggity, giggity, let's have sex

Since the APF stopped sending undercover officers to try and bust massage parlours/day spas for doing extras, it's been easy to get your rocks off. I think the stats were something like 90% of all places officers visited, offered extras. Fines were relatively small and businesses had plausible deniability because they would claim their workers offered these services unbeknownst to them. Also 99% are foreign women sponsored to work in Australia (as massage therapists, or on student visas, with around a 50/50 split of those successfully applying for PR), come in all ages, they do extras for increased income. Quite often they can be Asian students who do it for extra money to have more fun in their time off, travelling and spending money while they're here studying (or simply on a working holiday). Rarely, if ever, are they ever forced into doing this kind of work.

This isn't a first rule of fight club violation, it's fairly common knowledge.

Feel free to delete my comment if deemed controversial or offensive.

Anyway, the most hilarious thing about Sexpo in the past has been the ATO officers with their own little booth, hoping that sex workers will willingly declare all their income. Ha ha ha X infinity.

Extra little tidbit: I believe there was a politician who claimed the visa laws of the last several years mostly helped import huge numbers of sex workers, more than any other industry.

    • +1

Not the AFP - not a federal issue.

Local councils would send investigators to suspect brothels - especially around Chatswood - they would pay for sex then swear an affidavit for the tribunal/court. Only effective way to get them closed down.

Rarely, if ever, are they ever forced into doing this kind of work.

Bit simplistic - no doubt there's some coercion going on. Looks like your stats came straight out of your anus - 99% ? - sure…

      • I didn't say AFP, but it is considered a federal issue for a few reasons, but not worth elaborating on here.

I disagree with you about their being any coercion (they have caught some in the past, but it is quite rare), the coercion is in the good money, as it pays better than straight massage. They're all in on it, believe me.

        • You said the APF. Who are the APF?

Why is it a federal issue? Oh, sorry, not worth elaborating.

If you're going to quote numbers have some evidence otherwise go away.

          • @[Deactivated]: Australian police force.

            Tax evasion

            Potential for Human trafficking

            Gaming the visa system

            Risk to public health

Practising another 'business' under the guise of another registered type of business is against the law, basically.

Look around, you'll see. If you don't, they probably whitewashed a bunch of things off the internet.

            • +1

@Oofy Doofy: Prostitution per se is not a federal matter. State law regulates it.

The main linkage to federal powers is in sex and drug trafficking. Yes, some prostitutes are victims of sex trafficking.

No supporting evidence for your numbers, which means your anus was involved - pretty sure that's a State matter.

There are federal police and state police. Different masters. There's no 'APF' as such.

              • @[Deactivated]: I wasn't talking about prostitution though, I was talking about people coming over under the guise of working as massage therapists, or students, who then get jobs as massage therapists, but then do things they're not permitted to do under Australian law (nor are these businesses registered for that kind of trade), but do so anyway because what are the forces going to do… Close every massage and day spa business?

                • @Oofy Doofy:

Since the APF stopped sending undercover officers to try and bust massage parlours/day spas for doing extras…

Sure sounds like you're talking about prostitution there. Yes there are tax and other regulatory and visa/immigration issues as well, but that wasn't your focus.

NSW State law regulating prostitution (see Part 3).

SMH article about outfit that worked with councils to try and shut down illegal brothels. Ratepayers funding prostitution! Good God!

    • Just because their ads say they are students doesn't mean they are actually students.
This is kind of misleading about the conduct of everyday international students.

      • Huh? What ads? I'm talking about massage and day spa businesses.

Not ads of overweight, over the hill Asian prostitutes who try to catfish guys with ads in newspapers and a variety of websites.

        • Im just trying to figure where the information comes from that says they were here as students.

          • @xerot: There's one way to find out for yourself ;-)

There has been a few write ups (names changed etc) about this topic in Australia by a variety of Australian websites. News or journalism, whatever they call it these days.

    • +1

Illegally working tourists=Department of home affairs (immigration)
      Human trafficking=Australian Federal Police
Illegal prostitution=State police and/or local council

    • "Extra little tidbit: I believe there was a politician who claimed the visa laws of the last several years mostly helped import huge numbers of sex workers, more than any other industry."

That was just Dutton and his Au Pairs rule, surely?

      • No, it was someone else. Of course it's been scrubbed from the internet. In future I'm going to print to PDF. We live in a censored society these days.

I read it on an Australian news website, back in late 2017, maybe early 2018.

  • Love how it’s dressed up as a “lifestyle” expo.

A little misleading… offer is only for friday

If only there was a more convenient, private, free place I can buy adult things from at cheaper prices at any time of the day or night… and I don't have to drive, sit in traffic, and then pay for the privilege of parking and queuing up with 'all sorts', and paying ridiculous pricing for food and drink?

Gee I hope they invent something soon… there's a real opportunity here for someone with the knowledge and know how to invest something that could be a real hit!

  • Just a heads up, eftpos. Would you want to be getting someone else's change? Who knows where their hands have been!
