Basically ask a question about the new GoPro over the live chat. You do not need to ask for the code within the chat (I didn't) but some people did. The one time use coupon was then emailed to the email address I used to start the chat, after about 5 mins. Really good price for a brand new model. Note: the free 32GB SD card is not included when you use the coupon. Free shipping is though. Enjoy!

    just asked for my order to be cancelled. "it will take 1-2 days to be able to cancel it". I said hopefully not the same as the 2-3 for express service.

    if this is just ordering, i just cannot imaging how it will be for support.

      Confirmed can't claim under TRS, summary of email from them:

      In the simplified GST system, overseas businesses use an ATO reference number (ARN) instead of an ABN and cannot issue tax invoices or adjustment notes.

      Overseas businesses registered under the simplified system do not have an ABN and cannot issue a tax invoice. Therefore, if goods are purchased from these businesses, you will not have a tax invoice. Hence, refund of the GST paid on the taxable supply cannot be claimed under the TRS.

    I can confirm as of Saturday 26th October at 10am this still works because I finally got offered a code. It took me 4 attempts with the first 3 operators saying they knew nothing of any discounts. The other times I was pleasant, asked genuine questions and said I was tossing up between Hero 8 and Osmo Action (which was true) but got no code. This time I created a GoPro account before doing the Live chat so I'm not sure if that made a difference

    I got mine 5 days to perth but really disappointed with it. The lens is not replaceable like the 7 i should have checked beforehand. My oneplus 7 will not connect to the 8 Spoken to gopro chat and seems like its a problem with my phone. I think i might send it back

      Yes, you should have probably read the specs before you purchased. I think it’s a great feature, as the Hero 7 had replaceable lens that often didn’t seal which caused some people issues. The lens is now much stronger, and if you have GoPro plus and damage the unit they will replace it anyway.

      The problem with your phone seems to have nothing to do with the camera. The Hero 8 is a solid update from the Hero 7 and will impress most people who do a little research into what they are purchasing.

          GoPro advised me directly in writing that it is included, the website details have not yet been updated for some reason.

          Failing to include the new models under GoPro plus protection would defeat the point of the subscription for the most part and would likely lose them significant monthly revenue.

      Where do you people come up with this garbage? A quick google search will show a couple of filter options, some from reputable brands, even with photos of their filters fitted to the new Hero 8…. I'm also pretty sure GoPro announced they were partnered with PolarPro for Hero 8 filters, although I will have to track down that link…

        he meant filter cover and you meant nd and cp filters.

        filter cover wont come off when dropped. the filters you are referring will more likely fly off when dropped, i wont protect the lens.

    Also tried afew times using the live chat a couple of times however no luck on the code, first time I just asked some questions about upgrading to the 8 and second time I asked about DJI Osmo comparisons and then mentioned the code, the agent I spoke to said he had no idea about it and kept asking for my case reference number (assuming I had a discount code from that). The third time I just came straight out and asked, saying I heard there was a promo, and she told me it's over and I just missed out

    I currently have a 7 black and am wondering if I should upgrade to the 8 or the max.

    One thing that I found from YouTube reviews is that the max will look blurry underwater (even at a depth of say 1m).

      from what I read, image quality of MAX is worse than 8/7 black, MAX also require more post process to get your footage, so only consider MAX if you need 360

      Max definitely will not work underwater without a special housing which is supposedly in the pipeline. It's a known problem with all 360 cameras - not just GoPro. The quality of video will be better on the 8.

      What you pick depends on your use case.

      I want to be able to use it for example, skiing. I don't want to have to think about pointing it in the right direction. I just want to record and then I'll pick the direction later. Of course more work editing the video. However you can use it in "Hero" mode which acts like a standard GoPro however you won't get 4K resolution and the higher frame rates.

          Sorry - let me clarify - it is waterproof down to 5m however there is distortion created by the water and the 360 lenses.

        Nothing special, just explained to them as I did in my original comment but instead of just accepting a response saying that they would "get in touch with the sales team to investigate my order", I just asked if I could at least get some sort of compensation as I'll be missing out on getting it on time for my flight, especially since they advertised a 2-3 day express delivery written on their site. They give you the option from three choices, 'The Handler', 'Head Strap + QuickClip' and I think the last was a chest mount but I can't remember sorry!

    Has anyone found a deal on the 'Dual Battery Charger + Battery'? I wanted to use the GoPro Plus 30 day trial to get them at 50% off, but GoPro won't ship batteries unless it's included in an order with a new GoPro camera.

    I'm annoyed that GoPro doesn't allow you to order batteries separately, and that there was no mention of the shipping limitations when I placed my original order.
