Basically ask a question about the new GoPro over the live chat. You do not need to ask for the code within the chat (I didn't) but some people did. The one time use coupon was then emailed to the email address I used to start the chat, after about 5 mins. Really good price for a brand new model. Note: the free 32GB SD card is not included when you use the coupon. Free shipping is though. Enjoy!

          Maybe they forgot to tell you during chat. In most cases it had to be brought up in the chat. But great job on finding out and posting it here :)

  • No dice for me, I asked lots of questions about upgrading from my 6. then asked about any deals going (got told about free microSD card offer) and then asked about any discount codes. Got told they do from time to time and I should subscribe to the newsletter :(

  • This is probably expired now. I had no luck now either even after asking quite a few direct questions towards the end and the rep replied with 'I can add you to the newsletter'.

  • This deal is no longer valid. I tried twice. The first time I didn't mention the coupon email, but the second time (an hour later) I asked about it and was informed that it's no longer available.

        • Yes. It is pending because one or both is currently out of stock. I had the same problem (but resolved day after), they said it was OOS and they can't ship individual parts, so you have to wait until all parts are avail for shipment.

    Here is my rant about my experience with GoPro's terrible returns process:

    TL:DR - if you have concerns about warranty or returns, don't by from GoPro direct. Their returns process is terrible for Australians.

    I ordered on 19/10, it shipped on 21/10 and arrived on 25/10. That was all good. However my GoPro Hero 8 arrived with dead pixels on the rear screen and scratches on the front LCD screen. So I jumped onto chat to start the RMA process for a dead-on-arrival (DOA) unit. I read someone else in the comments had dead pixels, so I decided I would get a refund and just buy in store in Australia.

    The RMA process started out OK - chat quickly accepted and set up the RMA. They emailed me with a UPS link to print out a return label to go back to the warehouse in Singapore. That's when the trouble started, when I opened the email link it turns out UPS can't generate a label for Australia.

    So back onto chat - they confirmed this is true and that I was liable for return shipping costs. I refused because the GoPro was DOA, in my view they were liable for return costs. They agreed but said they literally can't do anything - eventually a manager took over the chat and I was chatting to him for over an hour. He requested photos of all the damage, of the box, the shipping box, etc. He asked a lot of questions about whether the damage could have been caused in transit. I'm not 100% sure what he wanted me to say here, maybe they could've offered something if I lied and said it was damaged by the shipped company. In any case I said no, it arrived fine. He then said that he couldn't do anything about the return postage either, but offered me an accessory for free. After an hour of chatting I was over it so I agreed to accept an accessory and I would pay the return postage. He offered an accessory up to $50 value - I requested the supercharger and he agreed.

    So I shipped back to Singapore on 28/10 using Australia post - it cost $39.80 with signature and arrived in Singapore on 1/11.

    My supercharger arrived in the mail but it wasn't the retail packaging, it was literally just the wall unit in a plastic bag, but missing the wall adaptors to actually plug it into the wall. Back onto chat - I was advised that I wasn't promised a retail unit and they don't have to send the wall adaptors, but as a 'one time favour' they would mail me the Australian wall adaptor. OK….

    Back to the refund - I hadn't heard anything from GoPro about the refund now that their warehouse had received it, so I called GoPro this time. Over the phone I was asked to provide the tracking number and photo proof of the box I shipped back and the Australia Post receipt. Fortunately I actually took photos of these and could provide them, but I was annoyed - they don't ask you to do this so what if you didn't?

    In any case, support submitted a ticket to Modulus (it appears GoPro support and Modulus are two separate companies, and only Modulus can actually do anything with money). I had no further contact from GoPro until this morning (12/11) - I received an automated invoice email showing a refund.

    All in all, I don't think I'd ever buy direct from GoPro again - it's just not worth it if you have warranty problems.

    Cheers for the heads up on the deal though.

      If you paid by Paypal you should be able to claim the return shipping costs back with their "refunded returns".. .

      Thanks for sharing your experience.

      I’ve heard many negative stories in regards to GoPro aftersales support - disappointing given you would naturally think buying direct from manufacturer should give you the best experience.
